What Daoming Si did to Dong Shancai in episode 4 was extremely wrong, but he never did that again. He realized his mistake and became a better person. Yes, he was very violent, but what made him like that was sad. His parents were pretty much absent in his life; his father died when he was in high school, and his mother prioritized work more than her children. His older sister raised him, but she was too young at that time. So she could only scold and beat him (although she was very supportive and caring, and she's my favorite character). So that kind of violence was an influence to Ah Si. And he remained like that, till he met and fell deeply in love with Shancai.
AvenueX said that she dropped Court Lady at episode 2. Though she liked the settings, she was so annoyed by the background music. Like there was background music at every scene.

I think people-pleasing is a waste of energy. One should be free to be themselves and spend time with people whom she/he actually cares for and they care for her/him in return, because obviously everyone is not going to be pleased.

Agree! It's ok to be reserved. And I also didn't think HMH was cold in the first couple of episodes. Initially, he and YCY didn't know each other well, but the further it went, Neo opened up even more, and they became more and more comfortable with each other, one thing I liked the most about this cp. They evolved and compromised as time went by.
