Yeah i read the book, so I kinda knew what was going on but...in the series so many things are unexplained! And Yai at the end sounds like he's just immortal and been waiting here for a hundred years. I think it must be really confusing for the people that didn't read the book
This was a really great series! The acting was impeccable, the story compelling albeit slow-paced. I was not ready for it to tackle grief so profoundly well, the synopsis was misleading for making it sound like an horror comedy. The only thing that was not really to my liking was the separation of the two narrative arcs: first the relationship of the main leads for the first half of the series, then handling the family situation for the last few episodes. I think it would have been way more natural and powerful if both were mixed up, the leads seemed like secondary characters for the 3 last episodes.

Seems that the relationship needs to be maintained for 5 years at all cost. If it's not, the side that's the cause of the break up forfeits the land. So if Yi cheats, it's the chen's fault and Diao's family gets the racing circuit. It's complete bullshit, like if they just normally don't like eachother anymore during those 5 years, are they forced to stay together for money? So I guess that's why Yi said his father said he HAD to love Diao.

If I remember corretly initially it was supposed to be a tiger, but they changed to a dog in cutie pie (for budget reasons I suppose). Now that they have the budget, I guess they changed it back to a tiger. I personally prefer this as it is more dramatic (and faithful to the original work) and a reference to Yi that is always refered to as a 'tiger'. And yes, not those poor tigers in Unforgotten Night!

It's a detective drama with touch of romcom. Not the best but the cases are interesting and the comedy is good too. The drama follows Vita who's a new police member good at thinking but not so much at protecting herself, and who has to show what she's worth. It's worth watching if you want to watch a light-hearted police drama.
