Not sure how I feel about the opening episodes. Acting and actions scenes are good, and I like watching morally gray characters. NJK's strong physique lends support to the vigilante theme. But there's something off about the writing and directing, especially when it comes to presenting its characters. Not to mention the punching sound effects which awkwardly sticks out. I know they're trying to convey his power, but its exaggerated loudness doesn't fit the grounded tone of the drama, and I feel like they undermine the fight scenes. Having said that, I'm still going to stick around to see where and how this drama goes. Hope the writing and directing improves.

Can someone remind me what happened to the real Yun Wei Shan? I think I recall from the first scene the mentor assuring the FL that the real Wei Shan and her assistants were just knocked out. But did they ever mention what happened to the real Wei Shan after the fake Wei Shan took her identity? Wouldn't they have to do something to the real Wei Shan in order for the fake Wei Shan to carry out her mission, such as hide her or kill her?

They started filming in December 2022 and wrapped up in March 2023.

This situation is terrible. I feel so bad for the cast and crew who poured so much time, money, and work into this project. Liu Yuning, in particular, worked hard to improve his posture, tone, and horse-riding skills. Not to mention he still went through with the filming despite his foot fracture. I really hope the rumors are false and/or this drama will somehow see the light of day for the sake of everyone involved.

Initially, I wasn't feeling the first couple of episodes and the lighthearted atmosphere, albeit I understand its purpose to establish the characters. But when things got serious, I was immediately hooked. I really enjoyed the tense moments and the action scenes, especially Janghyun and his crew ambushing their enemies from the pile of bodies. I'd like to see more scenes like that, but it seems like the war's coming to an end in the upcoming episode.

Yeah, controversial supporting actors tend to just get edited out. So The Prisoner of Beauty and My Journey to You (big oof for the latter as it seemed to be gearing up for its premiere in late August) will likely just push back their airing for some time as the editors work to remove his presence.

The shaman never intended to make Mokdan the spirit as her target was Hyangyi from the start. Mokdan was merely used as a catalyst to heighten the anger and despair in Hyangyi to create a more powerful spirit.

I've been wanting a dark and gritty historical/wuxia drama, so this drama's trailer and the one for The Prisoner of Beauty have me super intrigued. I really hope the actual dramas will reflect the atmosphere of their trailers!

The poster has a completely different vibe than the trailer. I hope the drama will retain the darker undertones of its trailer.

Is it just me or did the preview for Ep 6 feel unusually long? In any case, Episode 5 was terrific. Loved the revelations.

This drama hooked me in from the start. I'm digging the eldritch vibe, and I appreciate that they don't rely on jump scares to frighten the audience. Kudos to the actors as well—their performance is immersive.
