Is this Kdrama an alt-reality story where the tyrant king wasn't deposed and lived to a ripe old age? The IRL…
Most actors in their 30s can easily pass for being in their 20s, so we’re not exactly prioritizing age-related authenticity here. Plus, this is an alternate reality anyway, so realism isn't the main concern.
Honestly, it's reasons like this that middle-aged actors are losing out on leading roles. A 24-year-old getting a main role so early seems premature. He could have started with more supporting roles to gain experience and become more seasoned. But no, the producers had to cast him as the lead, which will inevitably create a power dynamic where he'll demand nothing less than lead roles in the future. As a result, actors in their 30s and 40s lose out on so many opportunities. It's frustrating.
Doesn't the character require any age limit like a 39 yo is replaced with a 24 yo?!
Yeah, I hate that... It's not like there aren't other experienced actors who could take his place. My issue isn't with the age gap; it's that some talented actors in their 30s aren't getting the opportunities they truly deserve.

You're right that just because something was accepted doesn't mean it was good. This is exactly why I tend to avoid period dramas—because I know what to expect from them. But the person above knows this is a historical drama, fully aware it will include such elements, and still calls it BS. Referring to it as infidelity just shows they don’t understand what it actually means in the historical context.
I always knew Lei Fu Gui was a cunning guy with a thing for Mei Wei and would jump at any opportunity, but I never expected this mf to turn out to be a rapist.
Might as well add infidelity/ extra marital affair. Concubine? bullshit
What do you even mean by extramarital affair? Do you have any understanding of history? Concubinage is not the same as an extramarital affair. It was a socially or legally accepted practice in many cultures, unlike modern affairs, which are secretive and betray marital trust. Judging historical practices by today’s standards just shows you're eager to talk nonsense. Also, if you dislike this kind of thing, why spread hate? Just avoid it instead. Ridiculous.
I am not a fan of Ml but the poster, synopsis and name of the drama is interesting af.
Talks like an angel
Walks like an angel but ...
Well bummer.
Why..
Does anyone else feel like that?
