I started this drama after reading your comment. I'm on episode 4 and I love it so far! I went in with really…
Lol - thanks for telling me that! you know same happened to me - I saw two great comments that made me reconsider. š I really liked the humor and unusual style of filming of this Director and now watching Into the Ring - another show I would never normally see myself choose because itās about politics. But itās really fun and I guess itās all about how the story is told. š
Great Side note! As a healthcare professional I watch in disbelief all the drinking/passing out on steroids practiced in S.Korea - as portrayed in K-dramas. I would love to get a hold of the population studies with percentages of alcohol related dementia, liver cihhorsis and failure in S. Korea compared to other countries.
This drama is great - light and funny, with beautiful cinematography, unusal take on saeguk, cute leads (especially Rowoon character- goofy but very sweet), and interesting supporting characters. Especially liked MLās servant and FLās brother. The story is not too tense and vicious like some saeguks tend to be and the humor is blended in nicely throughout. I like how consistent this drama is. With so many shows which start light but continue as ongoing heartache, this drama managed to be very leveled. Another strong side of the drama is beautiful scenery and cinematography. I couldnt but admire the summer setting, the rural beauty, and sunrise shoots.
I liked that the show is ultimately about independent women: - women who are masterminds behind their husband decisions - the ones who work for a living and can support their family (even their spouse who may lose his job) - the ones who save men - not being saved by men - the ones who declair that they cant stand « noble idiocy » and will find the way to be with their chosen one. Yeah, I enjoyed this drama very much!
This drama continues to get unnecessary hate for God knows what reason. This one.managed.to have multiple storylines…
Completely agree. Thanks to your comment - one of the few that made me watch the drama - otherwise with such bad press would have skipped as saeguks not the most favorite genre⦠l enjoyed it a lot - more than expected..
does anyone have it on netflixthe show cuz of https://twitter.com/netflixkcontent/status/1742350062275952789
Unfortunately it depends on the country- itās not on Netflix in US. I recently traveled to Europe and downloaded couple of shows only to find out when I was back that they are not streaming in US. Just interesting how and why they decide which content available where?!
I would rate this one an 8.75. It is rare that I stick with a 16 episode drama anymore, at least without fast…
Your review one of the few that made me watch this drama - thank you. Itās such a good show and Iām enjoying it so much - just like you said « itās not too overwhelmingĀ Ā» like some saeguks - I especially love the music, cinematography, humor and everyoneās acting. The story was consistent throughout and didnāt make me bored..
This is even worse - you claim every fellow Korean will side with you and your thinking. Iām not pretending anything. I suspected you might be because of your answers showing how narrow and boxed in your mind is. Westeners and especially younger ones have democratic open minds. There is nothing great about alcohol and if « ignorantĀ Ā» westerners watch Korean shows and love them but donāt like seeing how this portrayed and romanticized in Korean dramas they have the right to express their opinion which is called freedom. No one should be telling them what to watch. Also whatās with this superiority thinking of one nation over the other? Did you live in the West to say such things? Or Branding all people in the west « ignorantĀ Ā» is it also part of your culture so itās okay to do that? I doubts that - itās inflexibility of mind.
Koreans will be offended hearing generalizations like that⦠To follow your logic- fast food is very prevalent in American culture and because someone doesnāt like it they shouldnāt watch American shows just because itās āpart of the cultureā. And letās be real - most of the Korean dramas are heavy with product placement and many of those are alcohol related. So here is the direct financial link (just like it was with cigarettes not long ago) promoting these in popular culture. There are things to admire about any given culture and things not to. Being immersed in two cultures (born in one and living in another) nothing offends me more than similar generalizations from one side or the other. If drinking - what goes inside your body - is not a personal choice - then what is it?! Well, itās really interesting to have discussions like this in this day and ageā¦
wow thatās rough! you donāt necessarily need to accept every aspect of the Korean culture to like the rest of it! what kind of logic is that? alcohol has been around in almost every country for centuries but it is a poison in any amount of consumption - and because people were drinking it for generations doesnāt make it less of a poison.. It is a personal choice that each of us make but glorifying alcohol in the extend Koreans do (for some wild reason) is detrimental for their own society⦠Itās like smoking in the movies back whenā¦and where are we now with smoking?!..
Ep. 5 I absolutely hate this glorification of alcohol drinking. She is so sorry for him because he does not drink?!?!?…
LOL welcome to k-drama! Isnāt alcohol/being drunk as a skunk a plot device of EVERY k-drama out there?! I am seriously looking for a Korean show where not a single character is shown drinking - I think there are none š
Itās the way they was talking in the restaurant indirectly and FL was basically like Iām about to break up…
Thanks for sharing! I heard about them but havenāt watched yet. Will definitely check out your list š JHI is incredible - canāt wait for his new drama to come out with Jung So Min.
For anyone looking for a Lee Sang Yi love-line fulfilled; 'Once Again' is pretty satisfying (though it is a daytime…
Indeed! Itās a good thing for an actor to be visible as a 2nd ML - but it breaks my heart and want to see him in a leading role. Fell in ā¤ļø with this actor thanks to Once again. For me that was the main couple and made me watch the series throughout⦠If only I could rewatch only their moments would be great- 50 ep to fast forward all the other scenes is too muchā¦LOL
