So this would potentially be my next xianxia following Till the End of the Moon, for people that have seen both…
You definitely can not compare these two dramas. BFTB is a fun and often quite silly story. It was cute but did not make me feel much except for being entertained. TTEOTM in contrast made me feel bodily pain. Everytime I thought we finally get some happy time, they started the descent into pain and madness again. So make of that what you will... But if you need a pick-me-up after TTEOTM, BFTB might just be the thing to cheer you up.
I love the trailer! I just wish they would adapt the subtitles to reflect the different way of speaking in the past. They were quite a few funny lines where Klao was using modern language and then switched to old language when he was not being understood. Maybe they could use old-fashioned English to give the same feel. Otherwise I fear that a lot of jokes will simply not make any sense...
It has barely been a year that this came out and I have already watched it four times. This says everything about how dear this show is to my heart. I love the characters, the pace, the witty dialogue, the cute desserts, the valuable life lessons, the strong emotions, the miniscule facial expressions... basically everything. This drama is so charming, it makes me smile from beginning to end. Since I am agewise right between Nozue and Togawa I can relate to both of them. I wish more shows would give me this feeling in my heart everytime I watch them.
This drama had been on my to-watch list for a while but I wanted to wait until it finished airing before starting…
Sadly I watched your edit first, then binged episodes 1 to 14 and then came here because I was thinking: "Jatsuki had subtitles for her edit, the other episodes should be somewhere". Only then did I see your comment here. ๐ My Chinese knowledge is (same as you) very rudamentary so I am sure it will not be enough for a republican era drama. But I will survive. I will just watch something else from my endless to-watch list. ๐
if you want to see their story I put together a fan edit from ep 1-25 (with my own fan subs for the second half…
This drama had been on my to-watch list for a while but I wanted to wait until it finished airing before starting it. Your edit, which is excellent as always by the way, tricked me into thinking that it already was completely subbed. Only just now when I got to episode 15, did I realise that that was not the case! ๐ญ
This was promising but disappointed in the end. It started out fine, the story was interesting, the acting decent and I thought the casting was quite well fitting. After liking the first two episodes a lot I started reading the webtoon which was really good. Afterwards I saw the flaws in the drama. The story was progressing a bit too fast so the worries of the characters fell flat and had no impact. Also the acting of the actor playing the writer character became a problem: although the other actors were decent enough, his acting became more boring and unexpressive with each episode. In the beginning I though it was fine because he possessed the puppy-like characteristics of the webtoon character but he was not able to express any deeper emotions. I could not feel his worries, his jealousy and especially not his love towards his assistant. The chemistry was none existant because of this and every intimate scene was consequently quite awkward. I wanted to like this a lot more, but in the end it was just too mediocre.
I do look forward to watching this. Really. I do. But when I watched the trailer I couldn't stop laughing! How many clichรฉs are they gonna pack in this one series?! ๐
I know that they made the plot very simple so they manage the short episodes, but Japanese BLs always make short…
I can agree with you on all of that except for the last one. They are actually not university students. They are preparing for some kind of state exam, most likely to become civil servants. It is very common for young people in Korea to stay in dorms so they can study uninterupted (sometimes for several years) for these exams which are known to be very hard. So their every day is just studying in their room or in the library.
But apart from that, you are right: this drama is not very logically sound. You really have to switch off your brain when watching.
What is this show?! Every week again I am wondering myself: What is the point of this? Where is this going? I guess it is supposed to be a kind of coming-of-age story, but it does a shit-ass job at being that...
I was like: What the heck is everyone talking about? Which love-scene?! And then I realized that the version on YouTube has cut all the spicy scenes, so I went and watched the uncut version somewhere else. I nearly missed out there! ๐
Not really. The plot seems to lead nowhere, too many couples in too short a time so none of them get developped properly, the characters' reactions are often unreasonable and the playing of musical instruments is simply too bad to endure. It's still somewhat entertaining (otherwise I would not have watched all 10 episodes that aired until now), but you will have to switch off all your expectations and logical thinking. ๐
There's a shitstorm coming isn't there? The helicoptercrash Khim dreamt about. Khim and his dad suddenly having…
I agree with everyone. The helicopter will crash, the parents (or at least the dad) will die and Rain will be hurt or handicapped, so Payu will have to take care of him. That seems to be one of Rains biggest fears: them not being equal and Payu serving him like a butler. So I sense conflict in the next few episodes.
This was so much fun! In contrast to many other watchers on here, I didn't think that it was too dragged out. I was laughing the whole time. Only in the last two episodes did I think that they could have talked less and done more. ^^ But overall I really enjoyed this! All the characters were excellent as well, so interestingly written. Only Prap Suek as a character was a bit bland, I liked Patty a lot more. She was hilarious! I was glad that he embrazed her in the end as part of himself.
Korn is sus as hell. I really wanna know what the truth is because itโs obvious heโs not the good guy he wants…
Right?! How can he be a good guy when he was ready to sacrifice all these peoples lives just for playing games with his brother. And that facial expression on Porsche's mothers face means that something is up...
