I came for the romance, because I love a good "bickering childhood friends to lovers" story. But I stayed for the business story. The romance is really rather a sideplot, but still quite cute. But the business struggles become so engaging since all the characters are very likable, even the bad ones after a while. Even though I was a bit sceptical in the beginning, I got hooked in no time and binged the whole show in three days!
yall please answer should i watch this would you recomend
If you like J-dramas in generell, I would recommend this. It's not the best drama ever made, but it's very entertaining with stories about romance, friendship, family and especially the protection of the environment.
I couldn't agree more. I'm now stuck on the first episode bcs I feel like the main leads are a bit awkard and…
I binge watched the first eight episodes, so it's a bit hard to remember when exactly I started liking it. The first episode was horrible and I was seriously considering to drop at that point, but I always like to give a drama some time to get better, so I kept watching. It gets better when they get back to China which is already at the end of episode 1. The first three or so episodes are the most cringeworthy. I think in episode 6 I was sold, because by then they are bantering in a playful way and start to get closer. I hope that helps. I would recommend to give it a try. The SML is horrible though and he is not getting better... ^^
This drama has a strange charm. Sometimes it is super cringey and I really don't feel the supporting cast. Especially in the first few episodes it was so awkward and forced that I considered dropping it. Let's be real, the first episode is just plain ridiculous! But somehow I just kept watching and now I am really looking forward to the new episodes. What makes it so addictive? I just can't put my finger on it. I mean, I do like the male leads stoic character. Sometimes he is too stubborn and thinks that his way is always the right one. But the way he obviously has feelings for the female lead but is not burdening her with it because he knows she is not ready for it, I find very charming.
What a strong plot I really appreciate it but sometimes there are so many details that I can't relax. My brain…
I felt the same way! I can not count the times I jumped back a few seconds because I simply couldn't read and understand the complex subtitles that fast. And keeping track of all the character names!! Basically the whole time I was like: "who is that again?!" I always appreciated it when they re-explained stuff because one of the characters did not get it.
after reading all the comments here, i get that the drama seems to be quite interesting and good, so i wanna probably…
The romance is more on the backburner compared to the mysteries that need solving. There are still some sweet scenes and the main characters struggle with accepting and conveying their feelings, but the investigative story always takes main stage. Compared to a lot of other C-dramas the romance feels very mature in this one.
I loved this! Fascinating look into the dark side of people. Flawed characters that seem very real. Good pacing and well-told story. And the music was epic!
Late Tang period is like this, as was Late Han and Late Ming, but Late Tang looks like when they were most powerful.…
This summary is excellent and makes things so much clearer! I was thinking about it before, but you convinced me: next semester I will take a class on Chinese history at uni... ^^
How long is the FL going to play her hidden identity role ? When are they going to have a normal relationship…
The ML figures out her identity about halfway through, but he doesn't tell her, so she keeps disguising herself for most of the lakorn. They only become a couple in the last few episodes.
I hope that helps. I would recommend to give it a try. The SML is horrible though and he is not getting better... ^^

If you like the genre though, you could try ”You are my hero”. It's way better!
