I think with her it's a bit more than that - she freely admitted to MZH she wasn't originally a princess but was elevated into the status. She feels upset that she can't do both - love / enjoy what she wants and take care of her people. So for the sake of propriety, she has to be somewhat cold to him because she knows she'll always be the resort to stop wars or make people happy for the sake of politics.
