This show means so much. I being non-Chinese gave this a chance during Christmas last year on Netflix and it absolutely floored me with the story, acting, and visuals. It honestly changed my life the last 8 months and I will be forever grateful. Because of my chance I took on it, I showed it to others who fell in love with it too.

This show can transcend cultures and continents. <3 Happy 1 year, LBFD.

I tried with LYF but the actress is not a fave of mine (she was the reason I dnf Ashes of Love) and I couldn't get through the first episode.

You can tell from the writing that the scriptwriters are focusing on telling a well written story and not throwing it down the toilet for the sake of getting the leads together or sacrificing her ambitions to pander to the tropes of idol dramas.

Prince 3! PRINCE 3. that little shit just sat on his ass when she asked for help and I felt his pleads to his grandma were not sincere? I don't like him.

Shen stepping in is epically romantic. Guy comes from the streets and he has nothing technically backing him but like you said, he is gonna Robin Hood that match and hopefully steal her heart. I know she is grieving but he respects and honors her too much to make her feel like some prize for the sake of lies / urging from Lord Ding. My dude chose a really good role in this drama and I am so glad he is getting his rare chance to shine as a romantic hero instead of a villian.

I think we'll be okay. Someone said down a-ways that this is following the book pretty well. I think we'll have some villains but they won't be on the level of 'twirls mustache' overdone cliche kind. That while fictional fantasy for the time period, as long as you keep it natural and reasonable then this will do well.

I wish someone over there knows that international audiences are enjoying this and that we like this kind of stuff. I want moreeeee. I know its not historically accurate, but sometimes I just wanna watch shows where women in historical times can be awesome (while wearing pretty ddresses) and have good support systems within a clever story. With all the crap going on in the world, and over the last couple years, it's a little kindness. Does anybody have any insight on what cnets think of it? Are they digging it like we are?

All it takes is a good script, blocking, and acting and you can have chemistry radiate without even a kiss.

Don't mind me guys, I am making it my mission in life to get this thing charting because it needs support. (Also, looking at the stats, we have a solid age bracket who seems to prefer this show. Guess we know what we like / want.) So bless you all for giving this a shot and enjoying it.

That's what I am wondering. Because the prince doesn't seem to think the God of War killed her either and the drive that he has to go into the tribulations is actually the drive that is the God of War from the memories he has of their love.

The dowager is just... god. There was a shot where her entire body was overcome / shaking with rage while watching her getting flogged and I was just so ready for Lord Ding to send her to hospice.

I think the older prince is gonna have a fondness for her, but he is gonna back off when Lord Ding makes his claim known.

From the teasers, we get some escalations regarding their feelings / romance. So I am hoping we get some good stuff. From the trailers and music videos, there is a sensual kiss somewhere down the line that takes place on a bed.
