100% Michael Crawford. Dude was known for comedy and people were like um no, get rid of him. But his Phantom was so hot women were sending all sorts of stuff to the theatre. Him. lol.
I remember the freakouts over Heath Ledger and how people were demanding him to be recast. Some fans were foaming at the mouth.
ARP is gonna have a fun time for his future drama choices.

Idk if you dabble in musical theatre, but a lot of people freaked when a comedy actor was chosen as the Phantom back in the 80s. But he became a sex symbol in the 80s and 90s and every version of Phantom is based in bits off his portrayal. Same can be said for Heath Ledger as the Joker too.
It's crazy when someone can find someone who can just prove someone wrong. Doesn't happen all the time but when it works it does wonders. I hope his role in that Coroner mystery is just as good.
I've heard that BL actually recommended ARP for this role. ARP personally thanked her, so I think this is true.…
I think their love story is amazing for a cdrama too. I haven't seen many, but what I liked about it was that there was a lot of nuance and it had a realistic slow burn and development of emotions. The last one that seemed to do that for me was Shen Li.

I also like that she seems to go for strength in scripts / characters than the whole "I need money, so I'm gonna take whatever I can". Based on her previous characters, she seems to like women who are strong in ways other than physique and fighting skills. She also doesn't want them perfect either.
I know people would be against it, but her playing a villain would be amazing from an acting standpoint. Her fanbase would freak but I know she would choose the best one if she did.

That proposal was so sad. Girl was like, "I don't care if we don't have much time left, we already had sex, we already love one another, I am in all but officially your wife and if you won't do it, I will because I love you and the little precious time I have being your wife is enough". Girl was proud to have him. And now she does!
I'm willing to give this drama more time to settle and build up the story. I feel like everyone is right on both sides, but from a story structure view point, there is no B plot or C plot for us, which is usually why these characters do what they do / the actions they have = the drama so to speak. Everything is focusing on the main couple and their heated issue of marriage and "my mom hates your status".
I'm gonna give it until the midway point, Ep 18, to figure itself out.
He reminds me of the rich, popular boy who desperately wants to be liked by the girl outside his class. Getting…
And it's hilarious because everyone on the whole fucking street is like, jesus dude, you really like Kangning why don't you marry her? Oh yes, your mom is a bitch. Everyone right now is in that phase of, let them sort it out and eventually this will die down.

Awww BL. She is such a queen. She would rock the charts in Hollywood if we could get her over here. Alas. Maybe one day.
JY is one of those that wasn't truly evil, he had his reasons but behind it all, he just didn't want to fight and love is what makes the world go round.
My favorite part of the drama was watching the Demon Lord finally return to realize his love wasn't there, but only Bai Shuo. That instead of being selfish and greedy and forcing her to become his love or accept that FY was to never return, he spoke to FY and said that he [Fy] can have his body and protect Bai Shuo. That even tho she is not her, he still cares and is gentlemanly enough to step aside for a man - his other self - to have her.
I really had doubts about ARP but he really shined in this. It was such a controversal casting, and I was one of the haters but he played this role so brilliantly. He went the full change from an aloof, brooding lord who cared nothing for a human to a man who wished to fight and support his love. Not to mention their depressing goodbye / farewell kiss before he died? Holy moly.
If the director was the one who signed off on it, bless the guy. He knows what works and I'm glad he made us all converters.
Chai An can't abandon Fan Liang Han even when the man is clearly stupid and just a crybaby, because Liang Han…
He wants to be in that family so bad. He probably was bored out of his mind before they arrived. Nothing to use his money on. Now, he goes crazy with his cash doing all sorts of things.
The person who is Chai An's true equal is Kang Ning.... obviously because she matches his intellect and can thwart…
He was right tho, no other man would love her like he would. She has a temperament that matches his. Any other man she would walk all over. She needs a man who can collaborate with her or willingly stepaside with pleasure.
This is a comedy, not a heroic novel.Perfect characters are not funny. ML is not perfect, he is meddling, manipulative,…
He reminds me of the rich, popular boy who desperately wants to be liked by the girl outside his class. Getting that branch and adorning it with jewels was adorable.

BL puts a lot of Hollywood actresses to shame when it comes to crying. She made a fantasy story seem real.
But I have hope for JY. We saw those two stars drift together. I think he found her and they reunited to watch over their little couple.
I'm gonna give it until the midway point, Ep 18, to figure itself out.
