For the second question, Xue Chongzi practices Burial Heart Sutra, which makes him have his childhood, teenage and adulthood all in 4 years. His memories are erased after 4 years. It's like a being reborn again. He will need to get to know everyone again. Meaning every 4 years, he will go back to being a child and become an adult within 4 years and again growing up. The cycle continues.

Jin Fan and Gong Zishang - Happy Ending. Gong Shangjue and Shangguan Qian - Sad Ending (They are separated, she's pregnant with his child though). Finally Gong Ziyu and Yun Weishan - Sad Ending (They actually had a happy and satisfactory ending but the scriptwriter/director spoilt it by adding a last anti-climatic scene. YWS gets her twin sister's letter, so she goes to meet her alone but that was a trap set by Wufeng to capture her. No one knows what happens to her thereon as she doesn't return. And GZY is left waiting for her and in tears realizing she may not come back or is probably dead.)
The drama started out with such high expectations yet it failed to deliver. With such a good cast and promising storyline, the director should have done better than to spoil everything. AND FIRST OF ALL, WHAT WAS THE NEED OF JUST 24 EPISODES ? When you can actually utilize 40 episode mark and finish it properly. Heck even 30 episodes would have been enough to wrap it up nicely. but instead of giving us either of the 2 endings (happy or sad) or even an open ending (which I don't prefer), THEY F**KING GAVE US THE WORST ENDING EVER. This drama was about to go into my best dramas list, however it can't anymore. Highly disappointed.

Yes Elder Yue mentioned that it was actually Fortnight Flies. But he came with another name for it which is "Heart Devouring Moon". Implying that when your most important person gets poisoned with it, their pain devours your heart when you see them suffering.

Just imagine if there was no Wufeng shit going on, SQQ not being an assassin, then really their ship would have sailed and GSJ would forever be able to witness this familial ties during dinner or whenever Yuanzhi and Qian come infront of each other. The couple and the their grumpy little brother 😭
At 2:28, you can see Yuanzhi crying and screaming "Gong Shangjue" while he was on the floor not moving. It looks like it was Shangjue. Not sure if he's dead there, but it almost seems like that.
Goodness ! We're already half way through yet there's so much to happen. I feel like the later episodes will be rushed and there seems to be a lot of editing done to make it upload as less episodes. I know the duration of the episodes is longer, still that also seems less due to the slow pacing of some episodes.
I wonder why they did so. Costume dramas can have 40 episodes, they could've atleast made it until 30. Instead of having the 24 episodes mark. Don't know why they did that 🙄😑
And also by reading the comments below, it seems like they've edited out a lot of the crucial information which would have made sense to the story and the character development of Ziyu and the reason for him deserving the Sword Wielder position.
Makes me think, who knows, in the later episodes also they must have EDITED ALOT OF THE IMPORTANT STUFF.
What a waste of such good actors, storyline and production.
I really hope the drama shines even with the editing and less episodes to make everything sensable.
