We have all seen characters that are emotionally immature and mature at the same time, but I have never seen it in the same scene and from the ML above all.

So much effort and energy spent ..... and I do understand why this ending, but one question still remains. Why did this story needed to be told?

I don't know what kind of answer are you looking for, as this could go in any direction.
There is a dynamic between quality, time and money. The value of the first one is affected by the average of the other two. Q10/10 =( t10/10 + $10/10)/2. There is a tolerance, increasing time to decrease money or vice versa. This type of projects don't start neither with time, nor with money at 10/10.
And no, 8 is not a limit. That factor stands for something. Something that should be, but there is not, or it is but it's not well done. So is not just the sum, grade + 2.
If you are really interested, I can be more explicit, but for me now it just feels that you are trying to validate your liking. I rate things on analysis and not liking. These two don't have to match, as I can indulge myself in liking something stupid, or be a snob and dislike something well crafted. I have seen a list on MDL and the author had only 10s and 1s .... no comment, as he might be underage.

10 means (at least for me) you have something in perfect balance. You can't take or add something without ruining it. It's not the case here.
It's just me trying to not cross a line here. Otherwise I can just go and rate them on my mood, which translates to - why do I even bother rating them.

It is the difference between a general rating and a rating within genre. A good comparison would be a music piece. They usually stay, for obvious reasons, in the broader audience / commercial segment (either pop, rap, rock, etc), so they lack the complexity of a jazz composition or a classical music one.
It's very rare and very hard for a series to enter that jazz, classical music territory for various reasons. First reason - very few will appreciate it, but one good example would be maintaining a cohesive storytelling, so even if you have a good story and good acting, you still need a good way of expressing it. Going back to a music analogy, for me IU is a great singer because of the way she sings a song (the storytelling) and not because she has a good voice (there is plenty of that).
Now, since I am not trying to be some critic, nor do I want to rate them just emotionally, I start my rating with a few boxes already checked.
On a totally subjective level this +2 factor mitigates what I consider "no goes" (you know, things like killing a child with almost no impact in the story, just for dramatic impact ) and overlook the rest of the effort.

Up to the final episode this didn't feel like a asian drama to me.
I don't know how I can rate it. All my ratings here have a +2 factor, this way a 7 becomes 9. But this one for me is slightly above 8.

He plays a quite basic character, who is just a part of the antagonism in the story. If you expect something like Joker from Batman .... don't. So, I would say he has the least screen time between the mains.
Now, he is the only main I have not seen before, so I have no comparison, but nothing stood out. That might be a good thing since he plays the role of a weak man with ambition and you can see that. He is not Veronica Park (KJK) to steal the show.

He is on the dark side, Nam Gil plays the hero, if that was your question. This type of stories have non conclusive endings, since they are history related and not just fiction.

Yes the director is a great storyteller, but this is just a manga adaptation (probably a josei manga) which plays on the indulgement. Pedophilia is something serious, here you have woman that never closed her teenage chapter, because she was constantly rejected. She closed it and she moved on. We even have an open ending for all the viewers who have unclosed chapters in their life to hope in a reunion. Just sad.
I think very few people even understand how damaging for the boy was their relation. Him, having a healthy sexual relationship with anyone in the future would be a sisyphean task.

Why? I tend to avoid historical movies/dramas since they are predetermined and political history is just sad. I caved in and watched it. This drama was so emotionally exhausting. And one would think that a religion that is barely touching the metaphysics, will be, if not shunned, at least viewed in a more cynical way by its suppressed ones. Silly me.

So, even a selfish animal like a cat is more selfless than a human.

This show is to out of focus. Without a good memory, or time for binge watching, there is no room for connection. It has no power whatsoever to flip over those who are not in tune with it. So it is either a like or dislike, unfortunately.

I like JSM because she is one of those actors who can express an emotion just with their eyes. Would the second part(season) be better if she played? No, because it's not the acting or less fighting scenes that drags it down. When you go from something that was working towards a big screen production to a TV daytime drama production, good storytelling (the way the story is told, which is also the oldest form of art) to crappy storytelling and so on people will notice.
One thing is true, is GYJ who raised the level of the second part. She didn't fell in the trap (which I can not say for some of the other actors) and played more like a movie actress, plus her charisma, that made all the difference. And it's good, because she gained more recognition trough her sweat and not by association.
Further more, since the overlap in the characters played by JSM and GYJ is minimum, there is no need to compare them or their acting.

Totally unexpected. What a pleasant surprise. Almost a tale rather then a story.

People cheat from the moment they meet. So we always say that both are at blame. But between couples there are smaller bridges and bigger and wider bridges. The long term relationships can not survive without the bigger ones. Unfortunately, in the 4th story, she was the one that severed the most important bridge in a long relationship, way back in their history. You know what it is, just that's usually portrayed the other way around in dramas.
This shouldn't be a surprise, since the whole series is centered on the women actions and their shortcomings.

The Uncanny Counter whatever season you want is just TV drama with a superhero skin. This one gravitates toward a big screen production on all aspects. Everything is done better, not just the script.

:) I was looking for a comment like this 4 years ago. And yes, Come on now! they were not just undertones. Reconstructing the puzzle, this would be the scenario with the most clear image.
