This definitely has the same storyline of Autumn in New York, starring Richard Gere and Winona Ryder. Different premises but the overall story of age gap, ill girl, etc.
I’m impressed with the acting especially of Xu Ruo Han as she is nailing her role. There isn’t much acting from Jerry Yan as he’s reserved, slow moving, reacting (don’t get me wrong he is perfectly playing his role) but He Ran is controlling the show and doing awesomely. I’m really enjoying this one just as I loved the mentioned one.
ML isn’t the worse jerk character we’ve seen. He didn’t cheat. He loved in his own way. His problem is that he’s not expressive as should be. She had lots of free time, did all the things she thought was supportive (cooking, visiting, being sexy). He just didn’t return it, maybe because he didn’t know how? The unplanned visit and his whereabouts was totally a misunderstanding. I’m just saying in the marriage.
I’m so over dramas with dumb, easily fall/trip, slow witted female leads (and after watching for two years now, these dramas are swarming with them…blame screenwriter, production). However you say 124% so I’m getting ready to start and look forward to a good show. Thanks for your review.
It’s okay. This is geared more towards audiences who appreciates details and the story. Yeah, it’s not just guy get together with girl kisi kisi kind of drama. It’s okay.
I think LBY's biggest worshiper after emperor is Old Madame Cheng. She's even ready to make a big fuss if CSS…
I was imagining their shooting when she threw a tantrum like a five year old laying on back during dowry scene, that they all must have heaps of laughs acting. Haha. I don’t know, her character is hard to make, yes she’s adorable with Shaoshang but at other times she can tiresome to watch. Lol
The last few eps killed this one for me. It was so good at the start.
For me, not killed it but agree that the plot of brother was so unnecessary. It fell flat, boring so transitioned the great build up of leads. Nevertheless, still really enjoyed it.
I really like your review with exception of mentioning other popular casts. While I get the mention, that it would of boosted it, in some way it takes away from the excellent job of these two leads. Whether it won’t receive its proper recognition (i hope they do), without any comparison these two are awesome so I’d rather leave it there. I’m on 2nd episode and man am I impressed with the acting.
I love the pacing, slow as a snail, sweet as nectar. After it’s all done, I will readily go back and binge. Great cast, perfectly selected. Great writing.
