I like this a lot for Joseph Chang, the lead male. He’s cool, fearless, loving, hard worker, family oriented, and yes, very handsome. Two people with each personal agenda comes together never thinking of something greater than own inevitable ever lasting. It’s simple but the story weaves beautifully like how a good movie should…a thoughtful plot, plot lines, good acting, satisfying solution, lingering emotions at end, happy after. It’s enjoyable and it’s only because there’s so much to see I said I may not rewatch but if I need a feel good story at some point, I wouldn’t hesitate to come back. I rate high for enjoyment.

Why? After the first episodes, I was really glued. Then, it became dragging. The male lead was thoughtful but his character is one who’s an introvert and in state of being in trance. Yes, he’s handsome but I would rather him be outspoken, demanding. Female lead was about the same, though very strong at beginning, started to weaken out, and in trance state at many times. Some episodes I felt were total useless and story could of wrapped in way less episodes.
Cinematography as all historical Chinese dramas is beautiful. I was irritated the female lead was in same dress for most of movie, even after rain, many years..lol.
It was good but definitely not memorable for me.

The story itself is fine. A man with a hidden side that most women probably won’t want to be involved with. Though two episodes from seeing where this will end, it’s still a very nice series that touches on different themes that makes it likable. One theme that stands out is parent child relationship. This one has a very complicated one. I wonder what i would do in this one if in child shoes. Then the main one of course is the heart. Male lead does have a complicated life. It’s not complicated until the heart is involved. What to do? How to untangle?
You think about these things in your own reality and find that even in real life, it’s quite tough. So, it ends here so far as I await the last two episodes. I so want these two complicated souls to have the best they’ve found in themselves. I’m gonna bet it.

It can only get better…
Not done but it can’t get worse as the best and cutest is already progressing. If you’ve watched S1, you’d probably be on the fence of quirky dorky or quirky fluffy. I mean the FL and her silliness? You love her or wanna shake some earthly sense into her. At the end though, all’s forgotten as the cuteness of the lead couple, Xiaoqi and Feng Leng is overpowering. Here in S1, I feel that Wen Peng has polished her acting and is doing a great job. I’m not so irritated like in S1 with her. This time around, she has revised her role to a maturity level that while continuing with the loads of tropes, she acts it marvelously. She has even turned up her comfort level in her relationship development with ML. If we hadn’t known it not to be true, you can almost match them up as a real couple. Yes, that’s how sizzling their relationship is.You might be frustrated with plot as it’s like a repeat of s1. I may have started out like that, but I’m finding that it’s okay. The deliverance of roles makes it seem like a much better version of S1 and I’m enjoying it so much I don’t mind it. This is a very fun, relaxing, sweet, memorable series if anyone is looking for something away from serious ones.
Oops, I was about to sign off but the supporting casts are just as cute. Yes, besides leads there’s two other couples that are so cute and fun too.
