Male lead for the heart

If I just write a few sentences about the male lead, would that be okay? What about him? He hides his love for fl because of his work that could harm her. He has a boring sleepy facade about him (my description okay) which could be a good disguise to his line of work. However, he’s smart and very physical to handle the complexities of his job. He’s the mature, competent, down to business character I wish for in dramas. He’s dedicated to his love interest and has her in his best interest even when she’s silly, makes dumb decisions, and puts him in harms way due to those behaviors. I like it primarily for this. As is with stories during nation conflict, there’s lots to anticipate as story develops. It’s pretty good if it fits your mood.

Irritating antagonists will keep you tuning in

This is the first 100+ series I've seen and since I lost a lot of sleep over it, it's good enough to share with you so that you might want to invest your time if looking for a good long one.

It's a roller coaster of an emotional series because the antagonists are super bad that you want to tune in just to see what their demise will be. Lol!

The storylines: *fraud and deception! The antagonists are very good, fooling everyone around them.
*late love: they thought they didn't need anyone, until they met in an unconventional way
*wanted and unwanted siblings: two loved, one denied

It's very engaging from the beginning on all the way to the end. It is meaningfully weaved so that you get a well organized story where every plotlines are covered til the end. One thing that you might ask yourself after watching this: Is it really possible for a human being to not have any love at all? I will leave it like that so you can find out. I also love that there is an elder in this drama who is like the pot of gold at the end of the storm. Throughout the series, he was wise, loving, and very patient so that even if everything is going crazy, he could be relied on to calm the storm. I loved Park Geum Hyung in this series as the grandfather. You hate his character in some dramas but in this one, I absolutely loved him.

On top of the central storylines, you will see talents of the cast. You will see their singing skills. In fact, you will be accustomed with the entire casts and their roles. There is definitely love here too. It is not perfect when you feel sometimes that dialogue in meaning seems repetitive but, it is well weaved together. Ending is very satisfying.

This is my first attempt at writing a review so here it goes. Everyone have their own nit and picks about what they look for when choosing a show to watch. For me, number one is ROMANCE! The romance in this drama is compelling and deep. Who arranges the most difficult romantic dates in times of war and chaos? Yup, the Commanding Chief of the military. Jack and Rose of Titanic were almost immediately in love. Here, it took some time but the magic began at initial meeting. The chemistry, hard deep kisses, hugs, touches set aside this show from regular Chinese dramas of barely touched mouths. Talk about deep, committed love...it’s here. I must admit I wanted to slap her when she found him and was gonna walk away but...it’s good.

The storyline was good but there were a lot of gaps. Too much twists, especially where the exes are concerned makes it more of irritation than adding to the intrigue of story.

The devotion of doctor was very sad...not because he was a g eat friend but because he deserved a love as well.

I was enmeshed. Wallace Chung is a very good actor and he played his role very well. Actually the entire cast were very convincingly good or evil. Bravo to them. This was very enjoyable and if you’re like me who likes strong leads and romance, you would enjoy this. Try it.

Major spoilers so please read with caution if you don’t want to be triggered. Let me just say it’s not a bad watch and I’ll get to that beyond this paragraph. It’s not unrequited so there’s that. If you’re like me where i really do want to watch one where the opposite totally has no interest whatsoever, and to see a revolving interesting come together, this falls short. (please give me a rec if you know of ones) Fine, I’m good with this folly except I have lots of questions that nags me of what writer wants to portray of the female lead. Lots of why’s and huh? For example, she wants to know how many females he’s been with. Huh? She’s supposed to not be interested. Yeah, that kind and others flat right out of nowhere of a story of a man in love with a woman who does not share that sentiment just has me toggling my brains.

Now, as I said, it’s actually a decent watch. I think that the leads keeps me hopeful. They’re a good looking pair. His expressive eyes, longing just makes me cheer him on. She’s finicky. Want to be cold, strong, submissive to her job, yet is a willow needing to be watered by him. The only real culprit is his mom and her nonsense typical pairing him for business growth sort of bs. No major side roles opposition parties except tame ones that i feel are not major headaches. I don’t know how it’ll fare henceforward but it’s halfway through and it’s entertaining as mentioned. So for a short drama, I think this is a cute couple who deserves your attention if you’re looking for a soft romance. Recommended.

BULL’s EYE

Writing this after episode six and the intense meeting of the sperm.

Totally love love loving this drama so based on my very own viewing entertainment, it’s a perfect ten. Rather than the other ongoing drama series that are recycling plot lines (also enjoying), this is refreshing to me. Mind you I was terrible in science and all the experts are probably jumping on concepts in this drama because I don’t know it’s accuracy. BUT, I find it intriguing and interesting. It’s a sci-fi after all but very thought provoking. Can you imagine if this can be done? Oh my gosh, it would be absolutely cool.

Lee Min Ho and Gong Hyo Jin are perfect for the roles simply for the very reason everyone thinks they aren’t. Totally different from their other roles, it’s probably the appeal to their taking it. I see nothing less of their acting abilities except to shine even more. It’s great seeing Jin again after missing due to personal growth and to me, she’s still that natural great actress made for camera entertainment. Min Ho after so much growth also is natural and this role is cute for him, Dr OBGYN. Love it! Combining a hint of romance, science intrigues, crew bonding, personal relationships, medical decisions, and more makes this drama. It’s short so i don’t know how it’ll all be wrapped but it’s a great flow and very interesting to me.

Everyone in this work deserves praise. The crew on the ship might have their own agenda (raffle ticket) but I predict where they’re going with it. Minor distraction but the bonding of people working together in a small space is good. The space team at the station have their added intrigue. The rich and their own agenda that of course is unscrupulous as very common trope also adds to the build up. In all, I find this very entertaining made solid after episode six and while it’s sad many are not connecting with it, I for one is loving it so I feel it’s made just for me. (wink, wink). Yep, they hit a bulls eye (to me at least) with this production. Give them a try.

Delightful engaging

Randomly clicked on this show and surprisingly find it really cute. Looked at cast and even more surprised that even though they’re university entering students, the female lead is actually thirty two? She can pass to be a high schooler, middle schooler even.

While nothing really new of the storyline, which is a clumsy, new student, and her unwarranted run ins with the popular guy, it’s the acting that glues you in. The girl lead is an aggressively enterprising person. Highly motivated to do well, self starter in her likes, she appeals to me. While doing all that, it leads her to some bizarre run ins with the lead guy. Yeah, these producers are getting really creative with the ‘accidental’ kiss thing, it had me eye roll laugh. The thing is, she’s totally unaware too much of the stir she’s causing as she’s focused on herself and her determination at her goals. With the student side characters who add to this delightful developmental story, it’s cute.

Blame writers/producers

I’m looking at the pictures of the cast and feel bad. However, nothing can make me go easy on this drama.

People who watch Thai dramas will by now understand the flow. Common themes are excruciatingly extreme they become almost gothic sinister. You will just have to watch for yourself to understand. For this one though, I just feel like I need to speak out to warn. The actions of these characters makes you wonder of the sanity of the writers and producers. From parents, to siblings, it’s as though it’s a whole different level of human beings in a extraterrestrial society. They certainly belong in one because if these are the way people and society is in Thailand, maybe something needs to be done to cut them off from the rest of the world. Lol. Okay that might be very extreme but seriously, these people are total garbage.

There are so many plot holes even if you try to fill them you will continue to sink. One son is shown to hire hitmen to kill off siblings girlfriend and son. So many attempts are made and cops never show up. No one is ever interested to catch them, just fighting them off and let em scram. 🙄 Gosh this made me so mad. Yeah, totally lawless.

The abuse endured by female lead was unbearable. Of course she’s written as the heroic knee bender, the slap me, it’s my fault, common favorite female write ups. All the other characters schemed, plotted, slap n slap n slap some more n slap this poor woman because no fault of her own, two brothers liked her. Unrealistic and outright ridiculous that this was thought out.

Later episodes became a revolving same thing of misunderstandings that it just became a case of tears, and more tears of same nothing really.

Actresses played and displayed perfect facials for their characters…nasty, hateful, cunning. I do give this to these actresses especially in Thai dramas that they can play those roles really really really well. Ughh on the character.

I’m not gonna finish it. It’s sad I actually stayed that long (14 eps) but from where I leave off, I can guess they will be together at end. To endure all that. Endurance has its limits and mine gave up. I feel bad for actors but if these are as good as scripts they can find, alas, talents are wasted.

You be the judge. You might see it wholly different. If any description though above turns you off, it’s really bad..

Lovely romance

I’m giving this a perfect score on my vertical drama standards. I absolutely enjoyed this. Story is definitely typical of rich guy poor girl so not exceptionally unique. Writer though stuck from start to end in wonderfully developing the building of their relationship without unnecessary disruption of side stories or third wheelers. ML had no one else but her once he fell and likewise, she managed their secret office romance without silly misunderstandings. They were professional at work and perfectly aligned personally. First cdrama where two consensual adults had no coyness about skinship, and it is so welcoming and hope to see more. So if you are up to a story where actors are mature and pointed, while giving fluff to the way of the heart in their relationship, this is a good one. No not overly fluffy as it’s slow burn but meaningful enough and engaging.

I didn’t know if I’d like this after seeing so many virtual dramas with same plots and disappointments. However, it turned out quite nice. Both leads did a really nice job. His range of expressions really reached depth in its portrays of every scene. My favorite part was when he found out a major discovery that sealed his desire for reconciliation. That was too cute. Female lead for once was someone who had a voice, a talent, and a life beyond her past. She carried her role well, maintaining her dignity while pursuing her dreams. As for the rest of the cast, everyone did well to add layers to bring out the story. To the end, it tied up well that left me very satisfied. Also, camera work was splendid. Yes, very nice watch.

Sister Strong

This is a great story. It is well translated, well written just as I’d hope for in a series. Familiar plot line of sisters where one becomes selfish and uses other ones kindness to advantage. However, no matter what, when it comes down to it, the bond of sisterhood remains true so forgiveness wins. Cast are really good. Love the character of HAWICK. Some say he had a weak role. I didn’t. He was great. He portrayed a very lovable man towards his woman while carrying a silent revenge from childhood hurt. Each character were well developed, the main leads remained strong and caring throughout. Yes female lead was too nice but she was feisty mad when realized she was betrayed.

Things wrapped well, and every single character’s issue was resolved. Yes, very well written slice of life family drama I’m sure you’ll appreciate.

Unforgettable

The story wasn’t focused too much on the romance as stated in description. A young man, (JiSung) and a group of others share a great bond due to growing up in an orphanage in Jeju. They’ll divide due to opportunities to get ahead in life, however the bond is solid when needed. There’s a secret to his birth that will play out, and that’s the part that’s interesting.

There’s much to take away, things to ponder on, relatable actions that feeds on our emotions. It’s a great story. From beginning to end, it’s worth the watch.

If I ever find the time, I’d love to read the novel.

This will be short because many have spoken beforehand. I’m rating this high for the fact that I find the leads totally in sync with chemistry. I’ve watched so many dramas where the pull and push of leads keep viewers hanging by the thread just to see them get together at end after enduring eye rolling nonsense. Here, I love that he chases after supposed cold demeanor. Their cuteness, readily acceptance of mutual feelings is what I enjoyed. The first twenty episodes had so many sweet bantering fun moments that if they inserted the last episode as twenty first and ended, it would of been perfect for me. The story itself isn’t bad, female student in an all male school, her influence for good with various opposition. Kudos to entire cast but Xu Kai and Zhao Lusi perfectly matched up to give us a treat to the perfect romance. I’ll definitely go back to rewatch the first twenty episodes.

I’ve been watching too many Asian dramas perhaps which is why this taking place in France was a welcome sight. France is very beautiful just as I love the cinematography of asian wonders I get to see through films.

I like this a lot for Joseph Chang, the lead male. He’s cool, fearless, loving, hard worker, family oriented, and yes, very handsome. Two people with each personal agenda comes together never thinking of something greater than own inevitable ever lasting. It’s simple but the story weaves beautifully like how a good movie should…a thoughtful plot, plot lines, good acting, satisfying solution, lingering emotions at end, happy after. It’s enjoyable and it’s only because there’s so much to see I said I may not rewatch but if I need a feel good story at some point, I wouldn’t hesitate to come back. I rate high for enjoyment.

I was ready to be enmeshed from all the raves about this drama. Yes, I finished it but admit that half way through, I put it on hold and started another show. It didn’t keep me longing episodes after episodes.

Why? After the first episodes, I was really glued. Then, it became dragging. The male lead was thoughtful but his character is one who’s an introvert and in state of being in trance. Yes, he’s handsome but I would rather him be outspoken, demanding. Female lead was about the same, though very strong at beginning, started to weaken out, and in trance state at many times. Some episodes I felt were total useless and story could of wrapped in way less episodes.

Cinematography as all historical Chinese dramas is beautiful. I was irritated the female lead was in same dress for most of movie, even after rain, many years..lol.

It was good but definitely not memorable for me.

Drama drought fixer

“If you want to seize every chance to change things around, never pin your hopes on someone else”.

This line from 3rd episode I feel is not only reflective of her drama character but i feel applies to what we’ve seen her experiencing in her life. As Xu Yan, she’s the neglected child, having to rise to her ideal through own hard work. In her personal life, she fell sick to a very serious disease that left her nearly vegetative with a recovery that was harrowing. On top of that, she has been battling her agency that she’s made known have treated her badly. As fans, she’s missed on the screen. This drama though, filmed before her illness has been the great anticipation. Throughout the year, teasers have spread about its release. Without promotion, it appeared. Now it’s on fire, spreading wildly. Her dedication to her art is evident as this has risen to some ground breaking firsts. Its popularity also is a result of people who have come to support her. Kindness begets kindness. Her love for people, even when it’s inconvenient (putting her vulnerable recovery publicly to bring awareness to her decease, compensating cancelled events, bringing attention to village farmers products resulting, and so much more). Zhao Lusi shines her light that transcends not just in china but globally. Her actions is her agency, her cure, her humanity.

The reason this not so new plot line is doing so well is the leads of course. This is a great pairing. They really do compliment each other and if anyone has any complaints about age, I think it’s silly. Just as the pairing for Dating in the Kitchen was great, this is just as well. Though it’s not my trade, I’d think it’s how you approach a script. You read it, study it, adjust as needed to make it work. Thus, the big success of both dramas with age gap. Directing is superb as well. Each episode is filled with connections and not just fillers. Script writer is commendable. The dialogues are understandable with the right amount of lines adoptable and adaptable to life. A good script needs good actors to make its mark. Check, check, and check. Supporting cast are just as commendable. All around a wonderful cast brings a delightful fluttering worth romance worth the anticipation.

I’m up to ep 22 currently and nothing is disappointing this viewer. I’m glued in to every word, emotions, actions and it’s my dopamine after each day of work. (Sadly it’s coming to an end too fast). It really is very good. Join in.
