A good enough blend of a watch

This isn’t bad. Most often I’d hang on if i feel that the leads brings interest to see where story leads. Though some actions early on in story is a turn off, that usually makes me hit the next search button, the female lead is a new watch and i wanted to see more of her acting. At conclusion, I’d say she’s growing and has lots of potentials. Looking forward to seeing her growth. As for male lead, the typical cold, hard to please character, played that part well. For someone unsmiling for the most part of series, it really did shine through when she said, “ah, is that a smile”. That was actually cute because it really was nice to see him smile. He outdid that cold demeanor role. He’s good.

What i liked was that the male lead was on top of everything from the background to keep her protected. In family conflicts for wealth control isn’t new plots but this one made for interest because the execution had some interesting twists, enough to hold me in. Biggest twist came few episodes before last that didn’t quite hit my fancy but at least it was resolved before last episode. Some may like it, i just think a better plot would be building leads relationship.

Again, this is a decent watch. Though it has blends of mystery and schemings plotting, it’s a feel good drama to see leads end up together.

Too much time

This is a cute drama but too many flaws for comfort. Cute that it’s a very typical hate/love, cold/warm, rich/poor plot. Not so much as it takes too long for them to find love and as a result, you lose some brain cells.

Weirdly, the actor has those lazy smoldering eyes that made me want to know him more. At the end I can’t decide whether I’ve accustomed myself to his acting or not. Main actress is too clumsy, silly in character that you love her or hate her. It depends on your tolerance. I just felt it carried on too long.

In conclusion, I personally think that it’s okay to watch one, skip several. There’s just too much recycled back and forth storylines. The ending reward is worth it. Why? It’s like a revelation. It’s like the sleeping giant has awakened. The male lead can definitely smooch. lol. So, if your tolerance is fine with major cliches, go for it. If it’s too much, you aren’t missing much with some skips. Fuzzy warmth for sweet ending is worth it.

Likable with pauses

I’ve read the others reviews and I think we all seem to agree, it’s okay. Why? It’s somewhat fluffy that you continue to click next. There’s a cuteness to it, the lead’s chemistry despite him throwing her away on an unverified allegation. I mean we can imagine that kind of existence, though it’s very unlikely forgiveness comes that easy. We should totally know by now that “don’t ever appear before me again” means next episode they’re interacting. She or he is cold maybe two episodes and next their eyes are lingering and pining, etc.

Besides the cliches mentioned by others, I’m adding these. She is disguised as a maid, end up in situation where they sleep together, she disappears next morning and he casually asks if she went to work. Huh? Little boy calling her mom at first mtg. Huh? Too too many unrealistic scenarios it’s mind boggling. Of course we should also by now be used to these type of things, especially in low budget very short episode dramas.

There’s galore of bad dramas. This at least has a cute couple that carries the faulty premise. HEA!

Been a kdrama watcher for about four years now, and I watched this back when started. After rewatching, I want to note some things.

First, I think it’s an adorable making. I enjoyed everything except perhaps the last episode. I’ll share why but first my likes. I think the story is decent mind you it was coarse. There’s holes in the story that was head scratching but they managed to make clarity that gave some clearance. Maybe it’s bad editing. Personally for me, it’s the leads that keeps viewers strapped. I loved their interactions, even when he was cold and rude, yet she stayed her own grounds. This was a seriously cold man but she sure did win him over with her natural cuteness and kindness. I loved that.

It’s definitely a HE but last episode was underwhelming. Maybe they were in a rush or just in a brain freeze? Their reconnection was a dud. Closing out a good drama should end with a bang, yet…it didn’t. Yes they made sure everything closed properly, except that it didn’t leave you with a wow…it’s more of, okay. Because of that it’s low on my rewatch. Other than that, it’s really cute.

I would have written a fair review of this drama but I feel like it’s senseless. I spent so many hours watching to be totally disappointed in the way it ended that I feel that I totally wasted my time. Is it fair then to write this review? I wish I would have known so that i could have made a fair decision of my precious time I can’t get back.

My ratings for story and acting is fairly high because it definitely was an engaging story. Three women and their growth, in relationships and career. The three men in their lives. The supporting cast were also good. Lots to love and moments of let downs that just keeps you on edge of seat or firmly comfortable. Slice of life of various situations that any one of us can face so its value is great.

Why then give an ending that just leaves an avid viewer unimpressed. Doesn’t make sense to wrap this up like this with just voice thinking. Huh? Total letdown. Go ahead for what I thought of it, not bad. However, if you want to take a risk on being left deflated, then at least you’re warned. That of course is my personal opinion.

Surprisingly for myself I liked this. There’s hundreds if not thousands of this plot line so what makes it bearable for me? The chemistry of leads. He hates her, or is positioned to be of greater status. Yet, is there somehow looking out for her. Sorry if that’s a spoiler but the synopsis gives this indication so i don’t think I’m taking that away from you.

We pick and choose the ones of this plot line so I enjoyed this one because I thought the leads were suitable. I mean it makes the gaps, messiness of the plot holes bearable enough to want to see the end. In my opinion this could have wrapped with less episodes as it became too much fillers that were unnecessary. It had all the elements of a good story of a beginning, middle, and end but too much delving into other things to try to keep it longer then just became dragging. I think you will like this couple if you’re into a cute relationship and will most likely bear through.

Some people like this drama. I didn’t so I just want to offer a different view for variety of thoughts.

I like the casting. I don’t like the writing of the characters. FL throughout the drama doesn’t develop positively. Throughout the show she is slapped so many times it’s unrealistic. Since in school even to adulthood, the grandma of her love interest has shown up in different places (classroom, office, events) and slaps her. Some scenes, three times and drink face splashed. Til end this was never straightened. From all these, character was never made to be stronger. She is really annoying falling all over, drunkenly stupid in many scenes, etc. I like actress Tan Song because she’s a wonderful actress but wished she didn’t sign up for this role as I can’t look forward to watching her now.

The story itself is not new. CEO is cold, with many inner struggles. Fights developing feelings for Fl. Except for eye candy, their ship never really sails. I’d never watch again but that’s just me.

Kim Joo Hyuk

I started this without knowing about Mr. Hyuk. I finished because of him; to his memory.

This was very enjoyable to me. I just like the type where the male lead is cold and so different in personalities from female lead you deem it impossible for them to end up together. Here, they both disliked each other a lot.

I was conflicted because this story has a very kind hearted second female lead. I would have been okay if she ended up with male lead. I criticize the writing for making these love triangles, actually four people and they’re all so nice.

There’s plenty of annoyances. Female lead is clumsy, gets into plenty mishaps. Regardless, I looked forward to each episode. RIP to Mr. Kim Joo Hyuk. Seeing the bts scenes at last episode was bitter sweet. He is seen laughing a lot, full of life….

Don’t waste your time

Such potentials but the person writing this has got to be a very depressed person. The saving grace was the leads who were just pleasant to look at. This has the most repulsive characters that pretty much got their happy ending. When I think about the death of actor Lee Sun Kyun, this show gives an enlightenment of the toxicity of narrow mindedness and life of privilege that plagues the mindset. What horrible horrible characters. Specifically the mother daughter duo in this show. They harass, bully, threaten and openly too without repercussions.

To be fair, this show also had some really nice characters. Acting was very good. Unfortunately, everything good was buried by the senseless actions of two characters. All the beautiful proses were also buried. I would find something else. You’d think after all these 122 episodes they would at least make it up in ending. Lousy and disappointing as well.

Watch Something Else

Warning that this does contain spoilers because I just have no way of being nice to this story.

Honestly, it has lots of potentials to be a great story but it became a mess as they tried to stretch it out. There’s these scenes of grandma in and out of dementia which was fine at beginning but it became regular, that it wasn’t cute anymore. It didn’t give any effective results of it so yeah, it became a drag. The main issue of female leads father as a murderer was a good plot until it was dragged out towards the end and it was like, so all that just for everyone to be one big family. Trust me, you’ll know what I mean when you watch. Female leads character was just terrible. She bowed, she got slapped, food thrown at, forced to divorce, openly dislike by mother in law and sister in law, that at end, they thought her the greatest thing they bout fell over to get her back in family. There was so much disdain and abuse of the poor and unfortunate from rich a***oles it’s disgusting that a society lives like that. Yes, we’ve seen it a lot in these chaebol dramas but I found this so intolerable.

The acting especially of Choi Soo Jong as father of main lead was really good, I could feel his every emotion in his complicated character. Sorry, I don’t mean to talk bad but female lead, Uee was just not up to par. I could see how her character is supposed to be meek because she’s poor but her facial withdrawn face throughout pretty much never changed throughout entire drama it was so boring. My gosh, it was so frustrating watching her. The actress Jung Jae Soon, adorable as she was could not save this mess. Props though to the snobbish evil ones because as always, their characters shine as bright neon on the hill as to how not to behave in any decent society, even if they’re filthy rich.

Writing was terrible. I think there was so much better plots to get out of situations here without giving bad people excuses to act awful towards others. I mean, we watch and want to come a2ay with something that is lasting and impactful to grow as a society. This show in the most, maybe ninety five percent of it made poor people so pathetic they don’t deserve to live in society and the empowerment to the rich continued until very end when had a light bulb moment of change.

Go ahead if you want to try. These after all are just personal reviews. I scoff that I hear this drama got lots of awards. I wish I never gave it any time of my day. Waste.

Second time around enjoyment

I actually watched this three years ago and didn’t have too big an impression, though I can’t pinpoint why exactly. Rewatching it though, I can now offer an overview as sadly, maybe not too many people gave it a chance.

Age gap dramas are risky as it’s a good chance of hit or miss. In my opinion on this one, it’s a hit. WU Jin Yan, as Bai Xiao Lu, I feel acted her role exactly as scripted. She’s too curious which gets her in path of ML’s cases, but causes him heart stopping concern of course. She cares so much for him and the endangerment of his job she wants to help and even protect him, which of course causes opposite results. She’s innocent, annoying, clutzy, ditzy yet, adorably cute that Zhou Yuan, played by Guo Xiao Dong, can’t help but fall for. Chemistry was enough to make their relationship believable, which of course was the cherry on top of this undercover cop genre. Great ending.

Whatever else people may of complained about in the police stints of it, I didn’t see it. I mean there are plot holes and there are more plot holes in just about every single drama. This wasn’t perfect, some situations maybe your brain couldn’t get around. Nothing that bad you can easily improvise. OST was fine. My second rewatch. Third might be a charm but too much to see so we’ll see. Hehe. Give it a try.

Just Beautiful

There's already great detailed reviews so mine will be short. I finished 10 episodes subbed and watched rest raw because I was so mesmerized by the story. For me, I love the development of the story where we are introduced to the most precious innocent relationship of the princess and wolf boy. Their scenes on the mountain, happy go free discovery of nature, self, and adoration of friendship is just memorizing. She teaches him about love of a human to human and when he innocently puts his head on her shoulder to mimic love and she pats his head for approval, it's like my heart stopped for such a capture. The separation was to save him and that has you tearing up. Reunification was bittersweet and then from there a rollercoaster of highs and lows. All within the first ten episodes you will experience so much emotions that you won't turn away even if you wanted to; it's an incredibly moving story. The connection to our emotions is what keeps us glued in. I have never experienced anything like it so quickly with a story that though i have caught ending results, I didn't care. (I usually shut down if I know something beforehand). EVERYONE did such a remarkable job (particularly leads) I wanna thank them personally for powerfully moving me. I loved it and you will too. I've seen lots of excellent c-dramas of 2020. This one would sit with two others on top. Please watch and give this production your two thumbs up!

Mid 50 to 40 age gap NOT anything to lose your rockers over

Yes I read the age cap criticisms before show had a date release. I don’t know why I decided to play it anyways. It’s been a riot, cast did a great job, enjoyed the relationships. To me, it’s a gem.

Mind you this had lots of room for improvement. There’s a shortage of meaningful extensions to some of the characters, underdeveloped if you will. Second lead couple was minimally effective yet they were part of the big hype. Now that I’ve admitted that, let me give you why this was super cute.

First, people please cut the cast some slack on age inferiority. These are very grown adults by today’s standard. He’s late fifties, she’s early forties. I would let you think as you like if for instance a famous coach in his seventies and gf in early twenties cuz that can mess with the mind (actually none of us has business with anyone’s relationship but just saying) . The point is, when Cupid draws its arrow, who are we to say what we want. Let it be.

I give so much credit to the cast, especially Lee Jung Jae. Whatever reason he chose this project, good on him. A bucket list fulfillment? Check n check. His character is goofy, almost like a silly teenager once he fell. Who says a grown man can’t be like that when he’s awkwardly finding his footing to woe? Who? It was endearing! There isn’t a formula on how to act when you fall in love so in this drama, to see an overgrown man just ‘falling’ on his feet practically to get the woman was so cute. There was nothing cringy about it, it came late for him and watching him makes you want to root for him. On top of that, his character as a star is so many people. You get to a point in your career where you start trimming and plan for exit. I did a lot of pondering as his character is very relatable to the point I’m at.

Besides him, I think the rest of the cast are fun, did so good that they helped to keep me engaged. I especially enjoyed the manager of male lead; their relationship. Wonderful veterans in this drama…as well as up and coming actors as well.

Ending was fine. Didn’t expect any lovey dovey as female lead was clueless to the very near end so not surprised at how it ended. It’s fine.

On low rewatch cuz there’s too many dramas to see. I’d just like to encourage everyone to give the cast a chance as this is quite fun and cute. Thanks

A tested liars love

Wow. I’m blown away by this story. Actually, i can honestly say it’s not the most original because similar stories exist. It’s the cast though that totally own the moving of the characters to life they leave you on the edge. It’s not the most gripping tale of who dun it as it became apparent when it did rather keeping the suspense to a high level til end. Still though, I felt the intensity of the torn female lead in her choosing her love or justice. He on the other hand was just as torn. So as not to spoil too much, you can watch to find out.

There’s quite a lot of meaningful slice of life themes here similar to many touched in such dramas. The one that particularly had me thinking a lot is children who come under the care of someone else. Great if it’s a great fit. Unfortunately, it’s not always ideal. I couldn’t help but to identify the pain of the perpetrator as he was actually trained to turn out this way. Just sad as I’m sure of its true existence.

I know I’m vaguely writing which is why you’ll have to watch for yourself. Excellent acting by the main casts. Like I said, you will be enmeshed with the characters because they owned it. It’s a HEA but let me tell you, I could have given the directors some really good pointers of the last episode. Happy watching!

This is a fairly easy watch. It’s short, and the story is nothing too complicated. You can spin it any way you want but i keep thinking that it would be very nice if it can be easy like that. I’m talking about relationships of screen actors. As it is, this is one of the travesties of these stars. Before that, let’s go to the story first.

Lead actor is very good, first time seeing him. Love his voice. I’m always drawn into his lines as he delivered his parts not only with his voice but his eyes, especially in his vulnerable scenes. It seems effortless. Female lead is not bad, but it’ll take more roles to get her more at ease and not so tense. I think finding the right pairing is difficult and it’s not like the actors don’t try, as I’m sure they do. Even if not in the role, it seems like they’re comfortable with each other so it does make it a bit more believable.

Why does it have to be so complicated? The entertainment industry is so money and competitive driven that it seems like a slave entity. That’s how I see it anyways. Stars, to keep fan base high and strong cannot be publicly seen in their personal lives. Losing fandom means losing money and popularity, and unfortunately, that is very important to the industry. Terrible though is empowering those fans to think they own these stars, causing ruckus and chaos. Why should stars give up their love of acting if such a complicated career? Heavens no we don’t want that. They give us the entertainment we enjoy. Just sad it’s this way.

It is so nice to see what normalcy can be for stars in this story. To be in public without bombardment, to enjoy normal dating like anyone else. We also see how it might be difficult for a non acting partner, especially in intimate scenes. Yeah, I’d really really really have to be understanding to get used to that.

Like I said, it’s an easy watch. Thank goodness the opposing others to female lead getting the guy weren’t toxic. It was good writing so I think it’ll be a fun watch for anyone interested.
