I feel like those scenes with Qiao Lin show the difference between Qiao Lin and Xu Yan and how they respond to things.

Qiao Lin felt like she could respond to her MIL and when she felt disrespected, simply left the relationship even though it mean losing everything. QL knew at the end of the day, she had her parents' love and support no matter what she does. She was quick to cancel the wedding even though she knew her parents already spend the bride money and will be debt. Her parents did end up supporting her.

Meanwhile Xu Yan never felt loved unconditionally (except by her grandma) and has this craving for approval. That's why she learnt to bite her tongue and take abuse. She never once responded to all her MIL's insults. She said herself that she would feel like she would lose everything if the marriage didn't happen. She knew she had no one to fall on so put everything into getting their approval.

Shen HaoMing knows too much about Xu Yan, almost like he read her diary or something. He knows what she feels unfilled about and helps her to fulfil her small dreams and right any wrongs she faced.

But also I feel like he sets her up so she gets close to the edge before he swoops in to save her. I feel like he was behind her bio dad being made the business rep and for him ending up on camera. It was too convenient especially having the clip air in front of his family with Xu Yan present. Same with Xu Yan meeting with her college friend's parents at the wedding.

I just remembered how SHM did a thorough background check on the CEO that his father wanted to partner with. He knew all the skeletons in that man's closet and that was before he knew his, father was, interested in working with him.

She seems like a childhood friend that was shipped to study aboard with Shen HaoMing & they bonded over that but nothing more. I would be shocked if she isn't the daughter of one of the MIL's friends.

They wouldn't have cared about how poor they were or how the mother suffered giving birth or how the baby had heart issues if Xu Yan had been a boy.

They would've done everything and sacrificed everything to keep her if she was a boy. They wouldve pushed their oldest daughter into Xu Yan's position aka shipped to the grandma and forgetten about.

They are just mad that Xu Yan was a daughter and not the son they risked everything for.

The whole Qiao family annoys me. The parents left their child for dead and had to be shamed to get her back. Instead of repenting and doing better, they just repeated the cycle except now Xu Fan had no one at home.

The sister annoys me cause she saw the treatment her baby sister was getting and she didn't care and is playing dumb about the relationships.

The parents will try to weaponize Xu Yan's secret to prop up the sister and the sister will be all in

I love a good scammer but I have to gloss over how obvious Xu Yan's lies are. A few Google searches and it would easily expose her. But we are suppose to believe she can scam her rich boyfriend and his family especially his mother who is already suspicious of her?

I ain't read the book but Shen HaoMing seems too smart to fall for her little schemes. Just look at how fast he clocked her when they first met. His ass is iffy but only time will tell why.

They going have a high society wedding but the bride is only inviting 4 people? And not even the grandma who raised her?

Anyone know what happened to Wan Peng's career? She went from to back to back main roles to now only getting support roles. It's a waste cause she is a good actress

Just finished episode 5 and I'm loving. I support all of Xu Yan's wrongs lol!!

Only issue I have is the timeline. It's back and forth but it is often hard to tell. Also when we getting more of the relationship? It's like they got together after she fainted but we didn't see anything about their lives. Like I can't root for them cause I have nothing to root for. Shen HaoMing is blink & you miss him

I don't know if we can warn future viewers but one the last few episodes has an attack that trigger some people so don't watch it if you don't check spoilers

He is mama's boy and his mother is a boymom which is the worst combo for anyone who crosses their path cause no one else matters to either.

30 episodes of nothing but mostly fillers, like they wrapped everything in the last 15 mins. It is almost like 10-15 episodes got edited out.

The attack was not needed especially when the perpetrator suffered zero consequence.
The ML's sister-in-law's storyline just took too much air time and it led nowhere.

I usually enjoy these rage inducing dramas but this fell flat.

Rumor is the FL has a no kissing clause. She has that right but also needs to avoid picking dramas where kissing is clearly required. Yes it will limit her roles as most the drama roles for her age group are romance focused.

That young employee at Mirae's job is too nice and Miji is falling into his hands. I feel like he is setting her up either to get ahead in his own career or he has been send to keep an eye on her regarding that work investigation.

Miji's lack of curiosity regarding the work investigation is going to comeback to bite her. She doesn't even know who was involved and what the allegation was that Mirae was dealing with {maybe SA related}. Like Hosu gave her the full report 3rd episode and it looks she didn't open it.

I feel like he was testing her cause if it was the real Mirae then she would've either denied knowing about it or addressed the "first love" comment instead of brushing it off.

The restaurant owner is giving that she can't read and someone probably used that her in the past, like the supervisor from Mirae's company.

So far we only getting Miji's POV which is causing people to view Mirae harshly. Meanwhile she has struggled alone in Seoul with no support and being the family ATM. Miji at least had her own little community in recent years. We don't know whybut it sounds like Mirae has been shielding Miji from certain information. That doesn't mean she had malicious intent.

I know both twins think no one clocked on but how is that possibly when they act like they got full blown amnesia when asked basic questions or reminded about stuff they should know.

I can see why Park Boyoung said she is feeling a burnout. I love her and her dramas are a must watch but I hope she gets less heavy role to break up the heavy ones
