Yes i agree, they might be rude, cold, in position of power, like a CEO or boss type, but that's just their hard exterior, a shield guarding their innocent, caring, protective, but traumatised heart. He's only like this initially in the beginning and only for a short time because he's usually falling in love with her immediately. Then, for the rest of the drama, he's completely devoted to her often sacrificing his life for her. His rude behaviour is rather superficial compared to what I'm referring to of how the FL treats the ML. Instead, the FL's behaviour usually lasts the whole drama. She doesn't change until the end. For example, the typical behaviour of the FL constantly meeting the SML while knowing she has feelings for the ML and vice versa. I would prefer the initial, short-lived rudeness rather than the person you love constantly meeting your love rival.

You’re not going to like the second leads. It won’t be like true beauty or the heirs.
I've watched True Beauty and The Heirs, and i didn't like the second leads in those dramas. Especially the SML. So, how does that make this drama any different?

Title Love in Time
Honestly, i haven't watched this yet, but I'm pleasantly surprised that most of the comments are in support of the ML and negative towards the FL. Far too often, I see unpleasant, flirtatious, and promiscuous FL's (who freely enjoy the company of other male characters apart from the ML) getting support from viewers. At the same time, if the ML has any female characters around him except the FL, he's suddenly toxic and a red flag, even if he doesn't have any feelings for the SFL. ML with SFL, "toxic," FL with SML, "you go girl." The FL in this drama must have done some terrible things to have lost the support from viewers.

Any love triangles?
Ah, ok, her actions are quite concerning. Even if she was manipulated, wouldn't she still have a choice in what she thinks and does? I'm assuming at the time she's spending time with the SML, she has feelings for the ML? If so, why would she ignore his feelings and spend time with the SML?

Wow, I just finished episode 6, and i love the start of this drama. The leads are interacting early on. They already have feelings for each other, they're working well together, and it's funny how they're always trying to outsmart each other. I hope this continues. I would like to see some misunderstandings between them, maybe a small break-up. Maybe also a SML or SFL to add some jealousy between the leads.

That's nothing. Those insignificant things the ML does is nothing compared to what FL's do to the ML. And those dramas you mentioned are the minority, and they aren't even that bad. It's ok to not be ok, the FL was much worse. The ML was merely trying to avoid her. And don't even mention Japanese dramas. They're completely different, and i never said Japanese dramas. What you're doing is taking a small sample and applying it in general for most dramas. I'm not buying it, ML's are saints compared to two timing FL's that think it's ok to enjoy the company of multiple male characters while having feelings for the ML. The fact is, ML with SFL, "toxic/red flag," FL with SML, "you go girl."

Sorry, i don't know what foreign dramas you've been watching, but most Cdramas and Kdramas are exactly how i described them. Yes, they're damsels in distress, and who ends up saving them? It's the ML or SML who comes and saves the day. Is that a douche bag to you? Let's be honest. Most viewers love the bad boy character choice the FL has at her disposal. You always ship them with the FL, leaving the poor ML who has been nothing but loyal and protective of the FL to get drunk off jealousy.

😂You've just described the typical common characters from most Cdramas and Kdramas. Dramas are predominantly viewed by female audiences. Therefore, characters will have traits for the benefit of female viewers. For example, male characters, especially the ML, are expected to be nice, caring, protecting, and courageous and is expected to immediately fall in love with the FL from the beginning without a second thought or hesitation. He will also need to sacrifice his life for her and be persistent in pursuing her, even if she rejects him multiple times. The ML will also be prohibited from having any female characters around him except the FL. If he does, he's suddenly toxic. Meanwhile, the FL can enjoy multiple male characters surrounding her, and that is considered normal, infact it's encouraged. The FL is also allowed to reject and ponder her decisions of the ML, while the ML can't do the same. We can also compare SML's to SFL's, don't we usually see a huge difference between the two? Aren't SML's kind, caring and protective while SFL's are bitchy, conniving and evil? This varies from drama to drama, depending on the story, but it's usually like this. After all, viewers like to immerse themselves within the drama, especially in the shoes of the FL. I'm not sure what this drama is like, because I haven't watched it yet, but I'm sure it's got some or all of what i mentioned.

For the romance, is this better than Story of Kunning Palace? As in, we don't have to wait for the last few episodes to see something happen between the leads? I don't want to go through another long drama and only have romance at the very end.

Same here, it tokk 32 episodes for some romance and it was too strong (alot of violence and overdramatic scenes)…
You're right. This one could've probably done better without the romance. It seems it's more catered to veiwers who prefer politics, schemes, wars, and power struggles. At least like that, i would know there's none or not much romance, and i wouldn't bother watching it as i prefer romance. My ideal drama would be an evenly mixture of all genres.

I didn't really feel the connection between the two characters. That made me lose interest in them, along with the limited and late romance. I've definitely seen Bai Lu in better romance dramas.

Oh thanks for this comment. I was going to start it but I don’t have that much patience
If romance is important to you, then this one will frustrate you. It deals more with scheming and politics, then the romance happens right at the end.

I tried, and thanks for the recommendation. I mostly like the dramas you recommend as we like similar dramas, but this one didn't really do it for me.

I had to drop this. The story was good, but the romance let me down. I made it to episode 33, and i know that's when their romance begins, but all that happened before just tainted my experience between their characters. It dragged out for far too long that by the time we started seeing something between them, i was like, yeah, i don't care anymore. The standard time frame for characters to have feelings for each other is usually halfway through the drama, and sometimes earlier, depending on the story. In this drama, it happened far too late, and slowly, i lost interest. I love watching Bai Lu's dramas, but this one missed the mark for romance.

Ah, i thought this drama was more about her adapting to life off the island and romance. But i see it's mainly just about music.
