Yeah, good, but not enough romance for me. It’s more about chocolate and mental health. FL did a wonderful job on her character. If i didn't know her, I'd believe she's Japanese. She even acts like those typical Japanese characters.

I’m on episode 6, and I’m a bit disappointed that the FL still has feelings for the SML, and there are only 2 episodes left. It actually reminds me of a Chinese drama I watched, A River Runs Through It, which had around 36 episodes, and the FL only realized her feelings for the ML in the final few episodes. That kind of pacing is ludicrous. At least this series is short, so it’s a bit easier to tolerate, but I still would’ve preferred seeing the change happen by around the halfway mark.

I like these crossovers. Koreans in Japanese dramas. There was one not long ago but the ML was Korean. I think the FL could hear thoughts. That was a good drama.

yep
But is her character Japanese or Korean living in Japan?

Thats the beauty of the older dramas soooo many wonderful episodes to watch and so many wonderful characters that…
Does this mean it's a slow burn romance?

Rewatching this amazing drama, with a cast of thousands that are some of our favourites now, didn’t even know…
Here for the romance. Does it have a good romance story? If you can recall.

it's second chance drama:)
Love Like the Galaxy, The Last Immortal, Hidden Love. Ah, now I see the pattern. You’re a Zhao Lusi fan. Now everything makes sense. Her work stands on its own. There’s no need to rally a defense. But let’s be clear, this has nothing to do with the actress. I couldn’t care less who plays the role. My focus is on the story, the writing, and the overall execution, not the cast. Maybe we’ve crossed paths before on other dramas, but I honestly don’t remember.

it's second chance drama:)
Yes, second chance right at the end, while most of it will be the ML on his knees begging and simping for her after they break up. I'm sure that's how it goes.

I like the actors, especially Wan Peng, but the story seems angsty, like they'll always be in conflict, and he's always trying to win her back. If the relationship didn't work just move on.

I dropped the show at episode 12. The first 10 episodes were interesting, but after glimpsing what was coming in future episodes, I could see the excessive angst and constant separations between the leads, and I just lost interest. I don’t mind a bit of conflict, but stretching it over more than 10 episodes feels over the top. It’s not really the direction I was hoping for. The ML constantly trying to harm the FL, and then some of the other extreme situations, just aren’t what I was looking for in the story.

so ML giving mixed signals and ghosting FL is all right but FL can't move on? 😒
My comment wasn’t about who’s right or wrong in the story. it’s about how it felt to watch it. I’m not defending the ML’s behavior either, but the emotional connection between the ML and FL was the main hook of the show. When she turned around and kissed the SML, it broke that tension completely. Even if the situation made sense, it killed the chemistry for me. It’s not about double standards. It’s about storytelling impact.

And let’s be real, mixed signals and ghosting are frustrating, but crossing that line and kissing someone else is a whole different thing. The FL wanting to move on is fine, but “moving on” when you’re still emotionally stuck? That’s on her. And if she’s kissing another guy while still in love with the ML, isn’t she the one giving mixed signals now?

This drama was pretty good overall. When I first saw that it involved a genie, angels, demons, and romance, I expected it to go in a completely different direction. I didn’t think it would lean this heavily into comedy. I didn’t mind the humor, some of it was genuinely funny, but at times it felt a bit overdone.

That said, I actually enjoyed it by the end. The romance development was solid, and what really stood out to me was the FL's acting. She portrayed that cold, almost psychopath-like character incredibly well. I especially liked how her jealousy showed her true emotions.

Even though she rarely showed affection or caring words toward the ML, you could tell how deeply she felt for him through her reactions, particularly whenever his ex was mentioned. The ex barely appeared on screen and didn’t even care about him anymore, yet the FL would still get jealous over the smallest things, old gifts, past memories, and even passing comments. I loved that because it was one of the few ways her feelings were shown, and it happened early on too.

The ending could have been handled a bit better. It wasn’t bad, but I thought it would go in a different direction. Still, overall, it was an enjoyable watch, just not quite what I expected. The FL, amazing👏😍

I’m almost halfway through, and it’s not bad, but I expected it to go in a different direction. I think there’s a bit too much comedy. I wanted the ML to be more serious. Right now, he seems easily confused and a little ignorant and incompetent. He’s supposed to be the devil, so I was hoping for a darker edge that makes people respect or fear him a bit. Still curious to see how it develops.
