The Legend of Shen Li looks good, and also The Immortal Ascension. The latter seems to go against the standard in these types of dramas. It's usually the FL who starts off ordinary, then goes through character development and grows to become something special. You know the typical weak, naive FL with multiple handsome male characters surrounding her while helping and guiding her. I'm looking forward to this fresh idea. Hopefully we get beautiful female characters helping the ML.

I only read the first part because I'm on episode 5. One of the reasons I think she's not well off is because when she had dinner with the ML and she was stressing about the price of dinner. She even said I'll have to have noodles for a month to afford this dinner. That's not something a successful vet would think over dinner. If she's sharing the rent with her friend, has an average car, and is just living like an average person, then she should have enough savings to afford an expensive dinner with her successful business. The only conclusion is she's either a cheapskate or vets in Korea don't make much money.

Why is there a different actress for the FL in Joseon when the ML and SML are the same actors in the past and present?

Is the SML very intrusive in the leads relationship? And why doesn't she have much money? She's a vet with many customers. Her business should be thriving with all those men.

We could have a spinoff to this drama where the devil god would be the ML, and we see his tribulations to changing his fate, becoming a better person and having his own love line. Something like that anyway.

So you would prefer no love triangles at all? But that won't happen, or if so, it's very rare. Therefore, there would have to be at least one love triangle. And I'm talking in general, not just for this drama. Which brings me to the point i was talking about before with SML's and SFL's, which you quite haven't answered yet, but I'll go first.

I believe the reason SML's are kind while SFL's are mean is because the majority of viewers are female. Therefore, the female viewers kind of relate to the FL. They want to see the handsome SML with the kind and caring traits protecting and pursuing the FL. They don't want to see the SFL with these kind and caring traits because then the SFL would become worthy of the ML, and that is unacceptable. Female viewers do not want a SFL to end up with the ML. They don't even want her hanging around him. You may have noticed the phrase "second lead syndrome" used often on MDL. That phrase doesn't apply to the SFL. It's only reserved for the SML. Viewers will even take it a step further and ship their FL with the handsome SML even if that SML is an evil person. The ML may not have done anything wrong. It's just that the SML was more handsome or more interesting than the ML. We can even look at the expectations of the main leads. ML's are expected to be nice, caring, protecting, courageous, and will immediately fall in love with the FL from the beginning without a second thought or hesitation. He will also need to sacrifice his life for her and be persistent in pursuing her, even if she rejects him multiple times. Apparently, the FL is allowed to reject and ponder her decisions of the ML, while the ML can not. The ML will also be prohibited from having any female characters around him except the FL. If he does, he's suddenly toxic and a red flag. Meanwhile, the FL can enjoy multiple male characters surrounding her, and that is considered normal, infact it's encouraged. ML with SFL, "toxic." FL with SML, "you go girl."

I'm not saying this happens in all dramas, but definitely the majority of them. Just look at this drama. Not a single female character with feelings for the ML except the FL. Love triangles are important, infact they're necessary for the development of the main leads and their relationship. But i prefer balance, i want both main characters to experience this.

You should you would love it. If you liked this, you'd like ALP. Have you watched Ashes of Love and Eternal Love? You would also like those.

But don't SML's also cause unnecessary jealousy and problems between the leads? So you find it refreshing there's no SFL with feelings for the ML, but you're ok with having a SML with feelings for the FL in all dramas? Is that fair for the ML to always suffer from jealousy brought on by the SML? Also SFL's are usually evil, malicious, conniving, scheming, threatening, and bitchy. I'm referring to a SFL equivalent to the typical SML with traits such as kind, caring, protecting, and courageous. Where are those SFL's? If SFL's were like that would you still not want them? Or is it you just don't want them because they're female? So then why do dramas have these SML's and SFL's with such differing traits? I understand perfectly why. But I'm curious to get your opinion on this.

A very good watch. I liked it. But where was his mother when all this was happening? Yes, I've seen ALP, i know his mother was waiting for his father, but does that mean she can neglect her son? Wouldn't she have the power to prevent all this, or if not, at least help her own son and the realms she's meant to protect? Or what about the other true gods just chilling in the divine realm?

Define overcomplicated love triangle?

I still have 10 episodes to go, so my opinion may change. I'll need to see Ajiu's behaviour from now on when he's with Ayin and Yan Shuang.

I think Hua Shu in love with the ML would've made a more convincing and better story. Firstly, it doesn't make sense that no other character had feelings for him. I might be in the minority but i believe there's nothing wrong with a SFL with feelings for the ML. He can even spend time with her as long as he loves the FL only. Far too often, ML's are labelled as toxic and a red flag for merely hanging out with a SFL. Meanwhile, i rarely see FL's called out for spending time with a SML with feelings for her.

To me, it seems he still loves her romantically but knows he can't have her. He's just forced to accept it. I've just witnessed him mourning her death for a thousand years as if he's lost his wife. His actions tell me he thinks of her more than just friends or a life saver. Even Yan Shuang can see it.

Funny you say that, because it was the small romance clips on tiktok that brought me here, and then i realised it was just for the last few episodes😒 Therefore, i just watched the last 3 episodes.

I'm on episode 28, and i had high hopes Ajiu and Yan Shuang would be together because i see from early on that she likes him. But at this point, i couldn't care anymore. In fact, i don't want them together because it would seem forced and fake. It would seem like Ajiu would just settle for Yan Shuang only because he can't be with the FL. His feelings for Ayin have lasted for far too long now, and honestly, it's getting annoying. I hope Yan Shuang finds someone who truly loves her instead of wasting her time on someone who may consider her second best if they end up together. Also, why aren't there any female characters apart from the FL with feelings for the ML? Why is there a love triangle only for the FL? Is the ML ugly, unkind, immoral, abusive, offensive, or just an unpleasant character? Did i miss something? Because it doesn't make any sense.

I've had this in my plan to watch list and i didn't even realise. The story looks good. Is it a romcom or darker than that?

That's probably a good idea, but are there spoilers? Because i haven't finished this. Have you watched this?

Yeah, i have, but that was ages ago. I don't remember much. I even had to rewatch the last episode of ALP before watching this to understand more of the story.
