A beautiful series. So sweet and tender. Mix is incredible. I almost wanted it to end with Tian leaving, so S2 could be about the long-awaited return and will they/wont they reunite - but who am I kidding? A fairytale ending HAD to happen since it was referenced so many times. I REALLY wanted it to end on the mountain with that kiss. Didn't need the last scene, although always happy to see them being cute and affectionate with each other. 2 kisses (that's right, isn't it? 2 only?) were more than enough, because all the tender hearted emotions that were on display gave me everything I could hope for. I'll watch this again and again - even just a single episode when I need to spend time with good "friends". Looking forward to Mix's next lead role.
Oh good grief! WHAT?? An actor in a BL series who is ... GAY? Meaning - homosexual?? How can that be? Extraordinary.…
Plenty of gay actors (singers, athletes) around the world hide their sexuality. Not surprised some very young and new to the industry Thai guys are discreet for the sake of their careers. Some day (soon-ish?) they won't have to think about it and can just be open and honest without fear of repercussions.
I agree, not a lot happens. But you know? That's not the end of the world. In every form of art, we have miniatures,…
I agree with everything you said... but I think the people who say this isn't typical (I'm not one of them) are referring to the many tropes of BL that are not evident here. And the fact that these two may identify as "gay" (rather than them discovering their proclivities and coming to accept a male partner) make this a "gay" or LGBTQIA+ series as opposed to the VERY NARROW view of what a "BL" series is. I don't like the narrow definition, but many feel very attached to it.
What a beautiful relationship these two have and indeed all the villagers. I cried for most of the ep, starting when Tian laid his head down on the unconscious Phupha’s bed. So tender. Didn’t see this last twist coming and it makes me want to watch all over again to look for signs. I’ll be heartbroken when the last episode ends, but can’t wait for Mix’s next project.
Wow. The debate about this episode is INTENSE. As with ALL BL series, characters don't speak their truths and misunderstandings abound. If Tian had simply told his story from A-Z things would have been different. Not perfect. Some would still be justifiably upset, but at least they would know the TRUTH. Who in their right mind would just say "I'm responsible" and not explain how? Only a lead character in a BL so there can be more drama. This has to be called out as a trope, along with the 1000 other tropes of the genre. ("That girl I kissed was my cousin back after 10 years"... but it took me 2 episodes to tell you that).
What shocked me more than anything in this episode was the amount of guns and gunfire. That's pretty intense for a romantic drama. Granted, it was all leading here, but haven't seen that before in the genre and it really took me out of the moment. I know Phupha's "job" has changed from the novel, but Forest Rangers definitely would not be carrying machine guns.
Well written, but being from an Asian background I still don't get it. I've gone through this experience myself.…
Yes more would have been better but I guess I’m so used to being let down in BL series that never truly explore a characters feelings and instead go for the simplest, easiest, quickest answer and resolution. But a deeper dive would be sooo satisfying.

Shu Yi DID suffer. We saw him crying and moaning when Gao Shi De did not answer his texts or calls. He’s obviously still miserable but trying to hide it. And it sounds like he even went to USA to look for his love. I do agree that Gao Shi De doesn’t seem as troubled. But don’t forget 5 years have passed and they’ve both adapted as best they could in their own ways.
Finally, a character who admits that he's confused about his feelings (aka his sexuality). So nice to hear someone voice this in a series. Maybe one of my favorite scenes in a BL ever. Followed by one of my least favorite. Why do we need to see anyone on the toilet? Gross. SFX waaaay over the top to make it even worse. Oh well, seeing Gene smile when Sib says he likes him was worth it. Can't wait!!
i mean he probably didnt want to hurt Shi De. he's intoxicated and probablaly didn't think shi de would hurt him…
You don't need to hurt someone to break their grip. Personally, I would not allow anyone to drag me around like that, even if I did love them and even if they were drunk. But, as I said, it's just a minor issue. Doesn't stop me from enjoying the show.
SQUEE! I had written the wrong release date down for this, so I thought I still needed to wait a week to see it. So excited to watch 2 eps in a row. My only complaint... does Shu Yi have absolutely NO body strength? Gao Shi De drags him around and he acts like he is powerless. Now, I know he IS powerless emotionally, but come on, if you want to break a man's grasp or not allow him to drag you into your house (which you've left the door open to because...???), you could certainly resist more. But that's just a minor squibble because I would be dragged anywhere to see these two and their love story. LOVING IT.
Not feeling this one. An interesting premise, happy to see some real issues being addressed, but this might not be the team to tackle them. Scripting, direction, editing and SOUND are all subpar. Someone below said they felt like they were in Sunday school, and I agree. I'm Christian and have no problem with addressing faith but it's all cliches and platitudes. I also have trouble believing one conversation can change someone's mind about something as deep and personal as faith (or drugs/alcohol, for that matter). Episode 3 was the longest 20 mins of my life. But hey... I'm liking the actors. Kaleb is charming and has nice subtlety to his expressions that tell me there is a lot going on there.Nice to see that Enzo has range and isn't just My Extraordinary Part 2. Same for Gio. Hated his character in My Day, but he's quite natural and warm here. I'm not sure if I'll finish. If they post all the remaining eps at once, maybe. Too bad. -- Keep 'em coming, Filipino BL creators. I applaud your approach to the genre, if not the execution just yet.
I can't. I just can't. The first episode was a hard pill to swallow, but just halfway through the 2nd episode Andre just keeps yelling at people and not listening. I'm sure it's meant to show his "character" but when someone tells you 5 times they do not sell cell phones STOP asking them to sell you a cell phone. Dropping. Sorry.
I wish comment sections of series were like sharing a common point of interest....but no...it's like a trial now.…
No mailce here either, but a debate has begun...
I'm not certain I understand your arguments, Robin. Are you saying we should not criticize a series because people worked hard on it? Then nothing would ever be criticized. Ever. Even TikTok videos take effort. Making baskets takes effort. But if it falls apart, am I not to criticize it because the weaver might get their feelings hurt?
Also, you're looking to a general public forum on BL series for "intellectual integrity"? I think you should "read the room". There are people of all ages and all walks of life here. Not all of them have your level of education or maturity. Are they not allowed to express themselves?
You say it's a matter of respect... personally I respect the makers of these series. I'm sure they are savvy enough to know that once they put something out for consumption, they will receive positive and negative feedback. It's goes with the job. And I respect them enough to know they are not really looking at the MDL general comments section for "constructive criticism". They have peers and actual critics for that.
It sounds like you only want happy comments that agree with your happy comments. When will anything ever improve if we never question it, point out its flaws and discuss ways to improve it?
But basically, just scroll past the comments you disagree with. Don't let their criticism affect you. They aren't criticizing you, afterall.
And BTW... I like this series. I don't have any real complaints except the SFX (like so many others). And that's an example of criticism... shared by many fans... that would never have found commonality if we had been limited only to praising mediocrity.

Mix is gonna have such a great career.
