I love that SW just quietly stopped wearing his cap after JY said he looked better without it ... and that SW didn't comment on it. Before the incident in the bar and their time together in JY's apartment I think SW would have taunted JY about taking his advice. For the change to just happen without either one pointing it out is another sign that they are becoming comfortable together.
... And for JY to take SW's advice in the first place is a sign that JY is starting to matter to him. Earlier in the series, SW's response might have been to wear *two* hats instead. :)
Similarly, I think most dramas would have SW get away with drawing more on JY's face, but to have it stop with just that one dot ... brilliant! It allows the dot to stand as a true sign of affection and for SW to be rightfully proud and not wash it off.
though, I didnt like episode one. eoisode 2 showed more interest. it seems like one of the main dudes has already…
I think U got jealous over Chin spending time with the girl and Chin got jealous of U due to the other boy who was flirting with U. Typical "miscommunication" trope.
The big argument in the rain at the end of Episode 2 seems to be about Chin telling U that he thinks of him only as a friend.
In the beginning, at the party, they play "Truth or dare" and Rak asks U (?) if he has a boyfriend.I think, I…
I assumed that they knew enough about U to know that he's gay, making "faen" more likely to mean "boyfriend".
At least when U has a chance to question Chin a couple of minutes later, he's not so ambiguous and uses the words for "girl" and "boy", as in "Do you like girls? Or the boys?"
Having watched many Thai series set at a university I have to ask if it is really true that roommates in a dorm room will share one bed? How much trouble can it be to put a couple of twin beds in the same space?
Having watched only a poorly subbed Episode One and then skimmed an unsubbed Episode Two and bits of Episode Three, it seems that Chin is being set up as a boy who identifies as straight but enjoys the attention of other boys, and even has fun flirting a bit.
You have to love the scene where immediately after U moves in (and I mean immediately) Chin is off to take a shower, and then back again later wearing only a towel while he plants himself right in front of U to dry his hair. He rubs the towel over his head so vigorously that water sprinkles over U, making it impossible for U to ignore him. Chin then insists that U finish the job for him.
Now, that's a boy who knows his effect on other boys.
Then during Episode Two, in another hair-drying scenario but with roles reversed, Chin advances on U and kisses him. But then back at school Chin also starts flirting with a girl, and at one point I think he even tells U that he "likes" her. U is understandably upset and cries on his friend's shoulder. Later on, though, Chin sees U being hit on by another boy and intervenes decisively, claiming U as his own.
But by the end of Episode Two everything unravels. Based on my rudimentary understanding of Thai, the confrontation between Chin and U includes dialog where Chin tells U, "I think of you only as a friend." (I suppose it's possible that Chin is telling U that the girl he's been flirting with is "just a friend", but whatever it is that he says, it devastates U, so I tend to think my first guess is more accurate.)
And then at the beginning of Episode Three U packs up his things and moves out of the room he shares with Chin.
Even if Chin wasn't so dreamy with his bedroom eyes, kissable lips, and habitual shirtlessness I'd be invested in this storyline. English subs can't come fast enough!
I hate that I do this and play Devil's advocate for the assholes of BL (a la Khai from Theory of Love), but hear…
This is a compassionate point of view and I agree with you. Valen deserves some understanding when it comes to him pursuing someone romantically, and we would hope that the person he chooses would realize it. Ironically, Nont would probably be better suited to him in this regard, since his "EQ" is so much higher than Khaitoon's (who some might say is missing an EQ entirely.)
And I'll say again that I appreciate how flawed Valen is as a character, and how the script has avoided transforming him into a perfect boyfriend now that he and Khaitoon have sealed the deal. To me it would be entirely believable if they end the series still broken up.
And you're right - Kaitoon had been the one to put a stop to any romantic advances by Nont, and not Valen.
Sometimes you just need a silly, frothy comedy in your life. This should prove to be a good series to snack on in between the main courses offered by others.
When Phob and Ben kissed and hugged on stage there was a "tell" that often enters into intimate m/m scenes, which is that their embrace was not full-body. Instead Ben was a half-step away and bent his waist slightly so that when he and Phob hugged their crotches wouldn't be pressed close together. There's one shot of them in silhouette in front of the bright light that makes it glaringly obvious.
It's funny that the actors felt comfortable enough with the kiss but one or both (maybe it was just Ben/Green) wasn't comfortable with the hug. I imagine the director was more focused on making sure the kiss was halfway decent and neglected the rest of the stage blocking.
(On the other hand, perhaps it was all intentional because it's supposed to be a play with amateur actors who overlook certain details? I've seen this subtle lack of body contact in similar scenes in other series, though, to the point that when it happens I notice it right away.)
I liked the first episode but I question how credible it is for the two boys to live together for years without their classmates knowing.
And I think a little less of Taesung for not stepping in immediately when he saw the bullying.

I can identify with U sooooo much.

Ben seems a bit narcissistic. xD

And there, folks, is your nitpick of the day. :)
