The biggest problem with this series is that it rewrites Fiat’s slutty past and goes into all these story contortions to make him into a victim who’d simply been fooled, exploited or blackmailed by others. They want us to forget that in TT2 Fiat himself said that he slept around to get Leo’s attention.
Preview for next week shows that Saint is going to be an interesting character. What’s he up to, seducing So? My first thought is that he wants to build up So’s hopes and then humiliate him. And that would cause me concern over his intentions with Mon.
This is really, really good! Wonderful chemistry between the leads. They’re both adults with their own back…
I know the word I was looking for: Romantic. The main story is romantic in an old-fashioned way. It’s what the relationship between Ae and Pete could have been in LBC if not for the stupid addition of the bully.
This is really, really good! Wonderful chemistry between the leads. They’re both adults with their own back stories and treat each other with respect. I usually prefer the “enemies to lovers” trope but this series is just a great story about how two very different people can fall in love.
And I think we’re safe from silly hijinks like a revelation that the two leads knew each other as children but didn’t recognize each other or remember each other’s name. (Insert eye roll here. )
To My Star - your spot at number 1 on my list of favorite Korean short BL series is being challenged
Likewise. For me a lot is riding on whether this series can match that final kiss in To My Star. Also (so far), To My Star has an emotional edge in some key scenes that Semantic Error hasn’t shown yet. I love when a supposedly emotionless character finally has a moment where he just can’t control it anymore.
The bully started to cry. I love that passing detail. As mean as that kid is, he's got a back story and it's probably very unpleasant. While I don't expect the series to spend time with it that split-second glimpse at his face said just enough, and I'm glad they thought to include it.
At this point I'm starting to feel a bit impatient. This post-death investigation into yourself is damn hard! I wonder how many ghosts solve their life puzzle before time runs out, especially if they can't get a living human to help. The streets ought to be teeming with the undead.
Like all fantasy dramas this one makes up its own rules, then breaks them when it sees fit. Phob can't touch human flesh? Well, no ... not unless he really *wants* to.
And he can apply product to Phat's hair, don't forget. They didn't even bother justifying that with a silly explanation.
As Phob has been manipulating household objects throughout the series I've wondered what that would look like to someone who randomly walked in. I finally got to see that in the scene with Phob's dad. I half expected Phob's dad to accuse Phat of pulling a David Blaine on him, because it is definitely true that any decent street magician could do that trick. But I realize that Phob and Phat were in a tight situation and had to improvise.
When we learned the cause of Phob's death it was pretty mundane. I had gone into this expecting a murder mystery, so whatever the insight it is that finally gets Phob to punch his ticket to the afterlife, I expect it will feel pretty anticlimactic.
So far, the coolest thing for me was the way that the creepy neighbor Nuan used her tears to make it possible for Ben to see Phob.
The uncoolest thing was Phob's outfit with the farmer overalls.
I wonder if Phob's body feels warm to Phat when they hug.
Don't get me wrong - I'm enjoying the series a lot. I just think it's starting to drag a little.
Sang Woo snapping screensaves from Jae Young's Insta -- it was like he'd unexpectedly struck gold and totally forgot that he was supposed to hate the guy.
I've never appreciated a "villain" as much as I appreciate Ki Joon. Yoon Park's performance really brings him to life in a way that shows how human Ki Joon is. I mean, even knowing what a terrible thing he did, at this point I feel kind of sorry for him and hope he pays enough penance over the course of the series to earn a happy ending.
Whatever the South Korean version of the Emmy Award is, please give it to Yoon Park for Best Supporting Actor.
As for Yoo Jin, she's a bad apple, period. The only fun I get out of watching her is when her machinations fail, which (so far) is always. If the series intends to have her plan one scheme after another and always fall flat on her face, my god how entertaining that's going to be.

I can source the uncut version but I hate having to do it. :(
You've made me curious, though.
That aside, I do think this quest is going on for a little too long. The more they make us wait, the more awed I expect to be by what Phob discovers.
