I still think this show is holding true to its purpose. It is exploring 3 relationship developments and a realistic…
I appreciate this comment so much.
For instance, why do people need to see a scene where Dome breaks up with Vee's sister? We were able to get a sense of what he said to her (and what he didn't say) during her short conversation with Vee.
That was a smart decision by the writers because it took only 30 seconds and told us everything we needed to know. It's funny to me that anyone feels robbed that it wasn't shown on screen.
It is a common storytelling device but it has to be done right... Bad Buddy was clever and used the technique…
I think the time jump at the very end of the episode was there mainly to tease us about next week. The key moment was Fah and Thorn walking past one another without any acknowledgement.
Next week it looks like we'll get to go back and see what happened to get them to that point.
Dome and Vee's back must hurt like crazy, carrying the whole series on their shoulders as support roles ain't…
I think Dome and Vee have the most feather-light story of the bunch due to having the least amount of character development. I wouldn't be surprised if they were considered the third-ranked pair by the writers (and their relative lack of screen time seems to bear that out.)
All we've gotten from them is several episodes of flirting and angst on a repeat loop, followed by Dome's breakup with Vee's sister off screen, and one kiss (held off until Episode NINE for crying out loud), which itself is spoiled by being used as a plot device for Vee's sister to discover what's going on.
This is followed by them still doing nothing about their attraction to one another, since (as Vee assured his sister) nothing has happened between him and Dome beyond that kiss.
If people find that more exciting to watch than the other stories, well, whatever floats your boat, I guess.
I should congratulate these fans for being so patient, though, because I bet many of those same people are over on other pages complaining about how long it's taking for the leads of another series to finally get together.
Dome and Vee are a nice side story but as characters they're less fleshed out than the others and so for me they're the least interesting. There's only so much hand-wringing I can stand over the course of 12 episodes.
Regarding that time jump at the very end of the episode, it might just be there as part of the teaser for next week, surprising us with Fah and Thorn being on different teams and not acknowledging one another.
Then the preview for next week seems to show that we'll see how that all came about.
THEY BETTER GIVE MY PRECIOUS DANYOK A HAPPY ENDING that’s all I’m saying. But no for real, I can’t believe…
Dan will get his redemption arc, I guarantee it. And he and Yok will live happily ever after on Dan's family farm.
Their final scene will probably be Yok showing up unexpectedly at the farm and Dan embracing him. (Because apparently they don't kiss, they just hold their faces close together and breathe heavily.)
This show has a lot going for it. It has a lot of quirky characters, especially So and the little brother, even…
"A lot of people have observed that Saint is likely a toxic villain (a very, very hot, sexy villain). I'm not sure, because he's so obviously evil from the start that he's probably not, but even if he's the anti-Christ AND the reincarnation of Hitler, who clubs harp seal pups in his spare time just for laughs, I would STILL prefer Mon end up with him. "
If you want to see a guy with low self-esteem to prevail, there's Secret Crush on You. Does Mon have low self-esteem,…
Mon is more of a dick. I think of So as having the low self-esteem. I’m not sure what he sees in Mon, since Mon is such a sour puss. Just about anyone else in that house would be more fun to date lol. But if So and Saint are to be rivals I’d like to see So prevail.
I guarantee that Saint is toxic. He’s a manipulative little bitch but he’s really pretty, therefore many on this page will be cheering for him. It won’t surprise me if we eventually learn that Saint is one of the reasons Mon is so dour and withdrawn.
Personally, I would love for this series to have the shy guy with low self-esteem prevail. It’s already clear that So knows how to handle Mon in a positive way that made even Mon’s brother notice. And he got Mon to care about smiling.
I also think that So’s friend dropped a clue for us when he warned So that So doesn’t have much time.
I love how Sang Woo initiated just about ever new phase in the relationship. And seeing the two in their post-credit domesticated life was the perfect note to end on.
I highly recommend watching the last episodes on GagaOOlala instead (Urban VPN may be needed). I just had resubscribe…
I saw a clip from the GagaOOlala version on twitter and what I didn't like was that they did what most subtitles do for Korean when someone calls another character "hyung" -- they substituted the character's name.
So the key moment when Sangwoo first addressed Jaeyoung as "hyung" came across as Sangwoo simply addressing Jaeyoung by his name.
I was getting goosebumps for the whole episode, I was seriously not expecting that second kiss to be that perfect,…
I appreciated that the gesture that seemed to sell Sangwoo the most on a "trial period" with Jaeyoung was that hug. In a lot of dramas it would be a kiss instead. A hug speaks to affection and caring at a different level than a kiss.
And because it was a hug we got to see the contented expression on Sangwoo's face, which said it all. He's simply been in hibernation waiting for the right person to wake him up.
With so little time per episode it seems wasteful to have a second couple cutting in, and on top of that Ye Min and Hee Soo’s side story is even more bland than the lead couple’s. Ye Min’s not a likable character to begin with so I don’t feel invested in the outcome.
If there had to be another potential couple then why not have a guy who is chasing after poor, hapless Bong Deok? That way, when he inevitably gets ditched there will still be a consolation prize for him.
As for Seol Won and Cheol Soo, their relationship didn’t seem to progress much. With all the padding in this episode I sense that the writers themselves know this series is one that we the viewers will forget about two months from now.

He could strangle Yok to death with his bare hands and you'd all be saying "Well, at least he didn't shoot him like he did Sean's dad!" ^_^
Did you mean So instead of Mon?
