Just to clarify, there's no "lez couple" - June and Bill are both played by male actors, although in June's case…
Ikr! That threw me off. If the actor is a female then someone should make that correction on her bio on here.

It would be a little disappointing if that turns out to be the case. I've been thinking it was so cool that they had a trans character with none of the other characters making a fuss over it, including Toy.

my only hope for this season was Val and Kai, but they reeeallly disappointed me this ep. I am still hoping they…
Just to clarify, there's no "lez couple" - June and Bill are both played by male actors, although in June's case there was that old photo of him that Toy was carrying around where June was wearing a girl's school uniform. So maybe June is trans.

Right the musical numbers are really good and cover up the sort of cheesy bad acting thing the show has going…
Pretty soon Zafar will realize that half of the palace has made its way to Manila. 😂

I’m guessing Marcus is there because he misses the prince, but it would be more interesting he was sent there by Zafar.

I think he was the guard who was having a kind of fling with the prince in an early episode.

okay Valen doing that to Kaitoon was totally out of nowhere and with no reason.. Kaitoon didn't do anything wrong…
One thing I like about the writing for this series is how it has stayed true to the nature of Valen's character. He has such low self-esteem that it makes him the type of person to hurt others before they have a chance to hurt him. As soon as he told Kaitoon to never show his face around him again, you had to know he would never just leave it at that. He has the emotional health of an 8-year-old.

What I still don't get is why Kaitoon fell for him, to the point of being in tears even after he was the one who had been wronged. When he apologized to Valen I couldn't believe it.

I also like the twist with King and Peat. This episode's events didn't feel forced to me. The series has been doing a steady build-up to such a scene and a lot of us were worried that the season would end without an explanation for Peat's dodgy behavior.
On Love Area Part 2 Feb 20, 2022
Well, we can't say nothing happened in THIS episode! "Gen Y 2" should borrow these writers for their last few episodes. =)

Valen doesn't deserve Kaitoon. A relationship with Valen would be one drama scene after another with red flags all over the place. With that massive chip on his shoulder he should learn to love himself before he tries to love anyone else.

King is better off without Peat. Unfortunately, Peat's deception is the kind of thing that ruins a person for relationships for years to come.

This series will disappoint me if (a) Kaitoon takes Valen back after Valen inevitably learns that he got it all wrong, and (b) if King takes Peat back. I guess all those secretive phone calls that Peat was getting were from Sean, and all those evenings he was "busy" he was meeting up with Sean? Does meeting up with your "stalker" on the sly really make him a stalker? Face facts, dude - you're a cheater. You and Sean deserve each other.

Maybe Kaitoon and King should go out.

And poor June. Maybe he and Ice should hook up.

I dropped this after Ep 1, but skimmed through Ep 9 to see if I had missed anything. Couldn't stomach it. FF through…
How often on here when a decent series ends do you see comments after the final episode where people are saying they want a Season 2?

Has there ever been a Season 2 of anything that was as good as the first? Even "I Promised You The Moon" was a disappointment in light of what ITSAY delivered.

With "Gen Y 2", when I take a step back and realize we've been dragged through nine whole episodes of this dreck and Wayu and Thana STILL haven't even kissed ...

Star Hunter really blew it with this one. If their guys don't want to kiss other guys on camera then they should stop putting them in BL dramas. They're ruining their own brand.

For me the highlight of Episode 6 was hearing that Adrian can sing (and in three different songs). Until now I'd been thinking that his lack of participation was a little awkward, seeing that he's one of the leads and all.

His voice is quite nice and natural, and it blends well with Eurwin's in their "Here To Stay" duet -- a song that for me is the first in the series to go beyond sounding merely pleasant to being memorable. When the duet ended without so much as a peck on the lips, though, it made me think that a legit kiss between Zeyn and Mikey later on is unlikely, which is too bad.

The double-entendre dialog ("It's really big") made another appearance, with Prince Zeyn insisting that he can take it all. I got the sense that the boys went beyond what was in the script and had a little more fun with it than was written.

The "ChukChuk" dance number was one of the most ridiculous things I've ever seen in a professional production, but Eurwin and Adrian did everything that was asked for the choreography. Talk about being good sports! I bet there's an amazing blooper reel for that.

Marcus is back, and who knew he'd look so dangerously hot. Damn, son!

At the very opening the "rating" was changed from G to R. That certainly raised my expectations, but I can't think of anything truly R-rated in the episode.

Now that "Here To Stay" has been introduced within the show there's a different song over the closing credits, probably titled "I'm Your Rainbow Prince".

The bad acting hardly phases me anymore. I'm too smitten with the visuals, I guess.

How can a series with so many attractive guys be so dull?

Theo's a nice guy and he's cute but not interesting enough as a character to be such a center of attention. He has confirmed that four guys who are pretending to be his friend are all lying to him. Why would he keep associating with them?

How many of you would just say "f#$% Enchante" and go with Gawin?Although if Sun comes back from Paris it would…
Right. There's no engine driving this plot, which is hardly there to begin with. They need to inject something interesting into the story.

Force/Akk has more charisma than any of the other actors. I haven't seen any aspects of Theo that make me understand why anyone would be obsessed with him.

They should have spent less money on the EFX for smoothing out Book's complexion and more on the script.

For me it has become a “hate watch”.

Two episodes in and my hopes are soaring. The pacing is just right, the guys are gorgeous each in his own way (which, along with the height difference, makes them a perfect couple), and the story is fun and engaging.

I like that so far there's no side couple, either m/m or m/f, keeping the focus on the two leads. It allows maximum use of the runtime of each episode.

Some of the KBLs lately have seemed rushed and a little bit cheap and lazy ("Tinted With You" being one example). This one looks set to take its place next to "To My Star" as one of my all-time faves.
On I Want to Be Brothers with You Feb 16, 2022
Xin Yun Lai's comedic acting is aces. He also captures the air of vulnerability around the GY character, who feels abandoned by his mother and probably blames his father for it, thus making their relationship difficult. The arrival of XW seems to be what he needs to feel more cared for, supported and protected. Even by Episode 4 he's starting to rely on XW (although in a bossy way).

The Bei Bei character is the worst. Why do so many Cdramas set in high school feature a shrill, clingy female? At first she seemed kinda fine but by Episode 4 the floodgates have opened and she's practically screaming her lines.

Are they brothers? I mean, Gao Yang, Xiao Wen and Mi Jia? The first eps seem to hint the mother did get around…
I was just about to post something about Episode 4 myself, since in that conversation that involved GY's dad he kept referring to how the two are both together now.

And regarding the subtitles, it seems that the train runs off the rails in Episode 4. For the first three episodes it didn't seem too bad to me but that changed.

Still, when I first heard about this drama and found it on YouTube there were no subs at all, so for now I will be grateful for what I get.

Episode Three found a groove that makes me want to keep watching.

Akk's two gratuitous shirtless moments notwithstanding. ;)

I think most viewers of Season 1 agree with you. Regarding Pete, there was some kind of situation where he was no longer allowed to participate in the production. If he'd been available to them I think the production people would have cast him without a moment's hesitation.

By own biggest beef with Season 2 is what they did to the Tin and Can story.

My favorite thing was the storyline about Tin's brother and the son of one of their servants. (I think that's who the other guy was ... it's been a while.)

Who the fuck is behind the casting choices for the first two main characters lol!! My confused ass eyes are having…
You mention twins, and as someone who has dated a twin twice (not the same guy, but one guy from one set of twins and one guy from another ... I hope this isn't confusing) I can attest to the fact that if you spend enough time around twins you can eventually tell who's who with the briefest glance. It doesn't really take that long.

I've noticed this with Enchante as well. In Episode One it was aggravating to try to tell who was Theo and who was Akk, but this point I can easily tell the two apart.

So, I recommend that you watch for three or four episodes and see if that happens for you too.
