First of all, I'm so happy this forum isn't littered with the freakout in the YouTube comments over top & bottom,…
The breakup was completely out of left field. I was like, "what???" After putting up with so much, they give up with barely a whimper.
During production I imagine a story conference where Episode 11 is discussed and they realize they have to do *something* to create a crisis of some sort. God forbid they just let the boys go home and have the final episode be a celebration of their friends and two families that slowly start to reconcile. What better testimony to the PP relationship would there be than that?
Alas, we will probably get a time jump so that once again we can go through the tension of them meeting and falling in love again. It's the first time in the series that I've felt manipulated.
Hyun Ho didn't fall for Ahra's antics in Season 2 and it looks like he's going to stand up to Se Hee in this season too.
While Se Hee was trying to get him to agree to work together to get their exes back, I was thinking that it was a crucial moment for Hyun Ho's character. If he had gone along with Se Hee and decided to start messing with Yeon Doo's friendship with Ye Seok it would have marked a major change in his decency and likeability. I'm so glad he didn't fall for it!
The writers have a challenge with Yeon Doo's character. From the very beginning she's been 100% kind and good, and this mysterious breakup with Hyun Ho could eventually cast a shadow over that. If she's going to continue to have that angelic image she will need to have a really, really good reason to be putting Hyun Ho through all this pain. After all, he's also trying to do well in school, and the opportunity to attend a university didn't come easily to him.
Does anyone think its kinda ridiculous how quickly Ahra was forgiven for the messed up things she did last season?I…
It happens a lot in these dramas. "Best Mistake" is not alone by any means.
For this season Jin Se Hee is the evil character but I guarantee that by the last episode she will see the error of her ways and bask in forgiveness.
And like you say, Ahra was the evil force in Season 2, but people might forget that it was Ryu Sul who had that role in Season 1. She tried to hurt Yeon Doo after her friends started to accept her. And look at Ryu Sul now, just another one of the girls who we're clearly meant to be cheering for.
Hahahahahahaha! I loved this! Yes, her screaming when Pok was punching Saendee was a bit... shrill?
I liked how it showed how real bystanders would react to a fight breaking out in an otherwise placid place.
Too often in dramas, characters are yelling at each other or getting rough in public while all the actor-extras just keep going about their business, eating or studying or whatever.
The story didn't move forward at all. Episode 6 just spun its wheels in the beach sand and went nowhere.
Only four episodes to go and Luke and Calix are still in a standoff. I hope we won't have to wait until the final episode to see that change. The preview for Episode 7 shows Calix pushing Luke against a wall and getting up close but I'm betting that's just a tease.
Don't shoot me for saying this, but to me it has an ITSAY vibe that I really like. I already get the sense that a lot of work and care went into this series.
Seriously, till now, this drama is such a masterpiece. I really want to appreciate the writer, they must be a…
The writing truly is exquisite - a great example of a "rom com" that gives equal time to comedy and romance. And not a moment is wasted on useless filler. Every scene drives the story. Just wonderful!
It's like we're missing entire episodes, including the all-important one where they fell in love. All of a sudden they're holding hands and kissing. It's confusing.
If Yeong Woo is going to wake up in Ki Jin's bed can we please see what happened to get him there?
I've seen better story development in 5-minute music videos.
Your point about Wayu having zero agency is spot-on. That's exactly the problem. It explains why I read all the comments on here about how great Wayu is and how beautiful his relationship with Thanu is and I just can't relate.
I'm glad he's not crying all the time like last season. Maybe that counts as character growth. :)

Sandee is one fierce mofo. I love it whenever he shows up in a scene. He sure knows how to stir the pot.

Excellent first episode!

Da On appears in Episode 1. The same actor plays a character in "Best Mistake" so they have a little fun with that.
I don't expect any of these guys to show up again though.
