A few things:Why JE is the right partner1. partners are great if they can support each other in areas they need…
Interesting. I loved Sol's comment but with Jae Eon not even willing to tell Na Bi that he doesn't really have a girlfriend (he had another chance to do that in this episode -- and I think he just smiled to himself) she'd be deluded to think he likes her in some romantic, unspoken way.
He might be better positioned to help her with her career but he'd be a tomcat till the end. I don't think the price for her success should be her self-esteem and emotional security. Once he got her to "date" him he'd be cheating on her left and right. The key to his own self-esteem is his skill at seduction. That's why Na Bi's indifference to him now is driving him crazy -- it's not because he's realized that he loves her.
THE TERRIFYINGLY BORING PHONE EPISODE WITH NO SUBTITLES. If you are insane you might enjoy this. Since there were…
I'm sure it's because of COVID restrictions in Thailand.
I suppose they could have just said the series was done after Episode 13 and chucked the idea of Episodes 14 and 15, but people would have bitched about that too.
So, due to COVID the guys were probably all filmed at home, wearing their own clothes with their hair grown out and styled the way they usually have it, and probably not much makeup on either.
Phob doesn't even appear on-camera. Maybe his home is too far for a crew to get there due to the lockdown.
I'll say, though, that for his everyday look Copy takes the prize ... what a honey!
I guess they could have delayed filming but that would have been risky since by the time things open up again the crew and cast might have other commitments. (That's what happened with "Word of Honor" ... but filming hadn't started yet so they could recast the roles, and of course the result was magic.)
With TST, though, we get interminable phone conversations that do nothing to advance the story. I've enjoyed the series a lot but I'm prepared for a lackluster finale. Sad.
Since Jaeon's actions towards Nabi have always been creeping me out (even getting worse in the last few episodes),…
I like the way this episode seems to show him slowly becoming unhinged. His usual tricks are failing him -- not only with Na Bi but with the ex who dropped the lighter in the garbage.
His true colors showed when he gloated over Do Hyuk's reaction to seeing him and Na Bi walk into her apartment.
Jae On is super messed up. It's obvious that his biggest problem is that he's losing out to another guy.
When he admitted to Na Bi that he'd seen Do Hyuk outside her apartment and boasted that Do Hyuk looked like he was going to cry ... that was a singular moment that revealed his true character. He's rotten to the core.
I would love an ending that finds him on his own again, back at that bar picking up a new victim.
I'm halfway through and the ML is still aloof, running hot and cold and sending mixed signals.
He has kept up this attitude so relentlessly that I'm hoping someone can spoil this for me: do we eventually learn about something from his background that has made him so unapproachable -- something that the FL manages to break through? Or is this just what the character is like, period. (Which would be so unimaginative.) Thanks!
In Episode 15, TK is up on stage, giving his acceptance speech after winning the Prince contest, and he thanks Shiwoon and Daon for their friendship and support, then finishes by thanking Shinwoo in the form of a public confession.
Then Episode 16 serves up lots of SW/TK fluff while tying up the loose ends for Daon, Shiwoon, and (eye-roll) So Hee.
Da On doesn't have it all together yet and shouldn't be trying to strike up a relationship with anyone. For me he's just become a spoiler and I want him to go away.
Honestly, if the series doesn't have Shinwoo prevail after showing us all of his earnest love for TK then it will be the most heinous collapse of a BL series ever.
So Hee's redemption happened faster than even I expected. Hopefully they've given us enough of that now and we can focus on the relationship that matters.
TK's moment of revelation and the confession that followed were simply brilliant. This series hits one high note after another.
Shinwoo is definitely endgame. It would be mind-boggling if that moment was meant only as misdirection for the sake of dramatic effect.
I'm further assured by the fact that this director has a track record of series endings that leave every character with something positive, even the villains. (And we're already seeing the start of So Hee's redemption, so that box will be checked off as well.)
If Shinwoo were not to prevail then the message would be "try as you might, you can't change fate, so why bother". On the other hand, when Da On ultimately fails to win TK it will not be a total loss -- he will learn from the experience and become a better person from it.
For the next couple of episodes there will be dramatic tension over the possibility of Shinwoo being pushed aside in favor of Da On, but rest assured that the character who has been the most consistent and strong will be rewarded.
After watching episode 12, I think Tae Kyung will end up with Shin Woo. Da On is not ready for a relationship…
Right. You can't truly love another person until you love yourself. Da On has some work to do. He needs to drop the facade and take the risk of showing people who he really is.
Shin Woo has traveled that road already. He's ready to commit to another person fully and sincerely.
Well, here we go again this week...lol. No, not really, actually. :)This week I agree with you on the overall…
I think the series with the most mind-numbing languors would have to be "Until We Meet Again" ... but then I haven't yet watched "Be Loved In House" past Episode Four lol.
The pacing is weird, yeah, but that really doesn't bother me at all. Honestly, if the slowness of it you that…
I thought the writing and direction for this episode was very good. The conversations between the boys felt natural and their chemistry really started to show. Perhaps Mean had to settle into his role as director, but with so many elements coming together this is the episode that has "sold" this series to me.
I also liked how both Phob and Nut were happy over becoming intimate. Phob especially couldn't stop bringing it up -- and that's exactly how someone should be when they'd dreamed about it, wished for it, and finally got it. Sex should be a joyful experience! That was one of my favorite "morning after" scenes ever.
The BTS interview was wonderful. They're both such bright and engaging guys, and it was nice to see how completely at ease (and enthusiastic) they are to be acting in a BL series.
I'm happy that it's starting out with them already being in a relationship, but let's see how episodes we get…
I get the sense it will be more of a "trust" trope. I don't expect that either guy with cheat on the other, but there will be temptations galore and lots of misunderstandings.
There will also be the specter of Fiat's past, probably with a few of his past tricks popping up here and there.
The scene with Na Bi's aunt bothered me so much. Her aunt has the perceptive skills of a gnat. I guess we're supposed to take it as just another instance of a woman being smitten by Jae Eon's mindblowing charisma -- to the extent that her motherly instincts go out the window and she lets the smug a-hole invade her niece's one remaining sanctuary.
It's frustrating. Does her aunt think that Na Bi spent several days in retreat on a whim?
The only believable outcome of this story is for Na Bi to become a female version of Jae Eon. In the preview for next week they're teasing the idea that Jae Eon is making a shift into a post-slut existence, ready for commitment at last. Baloney!
If this series has any integrity at all, it will stay true to Jae Eon's amoral nature and have him flee the country (and Na Bi) after his final victory of making her reject Do Hyuk. At this point she deserves to be alone and abandoned.
It would be completely logical to have the final scene of the final episode be Na Bi back at the bar picking up a guy who's seated in the same barstool as she was in Episode One.
He might be better positioned to help her with her career but he'd be a tomcat till the end. I don't think the price for her success should be her self-esteem and emotional security. I guess you fast-forwarded a little too fast last week. ;)

If Phob doesn't want Namo I'll take him!
