I'm guessing we will ... in MODC 2.

I've had my issues with the series but all of a sudden it has hit its stride (better late than never) and I'm glad I stuck with it. This week was sweetness almost end to end yet somehow they kept it from being too much.

Best episode so far. (Did they hire a different writer? lmao)

I think they need to go for broke now and have Hao Ting and Yu Xi Gu make an appearance, preferably in the finale to anticipate MODC 2. No need to explain how Yu Xi Gu is alive -- just have the two of them show up to establish that he's alive in the first place. It would generate so much good will from fans.

It did a sneak attack on me, too.

M's smile was so bright and adorable while he was at home catfishing Near. If he'd showed it more when he was around him in person maybe he wouldn't have needed all that skulking around.

Fluke/TongFah is one of the cutest guys I've ever seen in any series. Really good actor too. How lucky for me that he's starting with a BL.

Nice/Arthur is one of the sexiest guys I've seen in a series. Arthur and Jeno are so different that the story of how they got together in the first place would also make an excellent drama.

Generally the casting here is excellent except for the one thing that just about everybody comments on, which is that Jeno and Near look too similar.

In an unrelated comment, I always wonder why people who say they're sick of BLs in a school setting even start watching one in the first place. You folks should let us know your location so we can notify the local police -- they'll be able to rescue you from being held hostage and forced to watch.

I've gotten roasted for saying something similar. The series is a major disappointment. I skip through most of the scenes featuring the loudmouth Deuan.

I like it more than the official version. They both have very flexible voices ... it isn't easy to shift into that pure falsetto so effortlessly. If the series dialog hadn't been patched onto it I'd make it an MP3 for keeps.

To me, the argument that cites the history of BL to justify 'I'm not gay, I'm just gay for him' is like people arguing that Confederate statues should remain standing because they have historical significance. Later generations have found them deeply offensive because of what the Confederacy represented at that time, so they have a right to be heard.

And now a later generation of BL viewers has grown tired of BL's veiled aversion to anything truly gay. We're part of a new audience that's bringing in a lot of money so we should also be heard.

I think a lot of series trailers serve as proposals for sponsorship and financing. Like, if you watch 'Why R U's trailers you notice how different the actors look and how the scenes don't all show up the same way in the series. The trailers were filmed well before series production actually started.

I'm pretty sure that's the situation with the trailer for 'Bad Buddy' too. But that series definitely got financial backing and should be out later this year or maybe early next year.

Agreed. Look at these people tying themselves in knots trying to rationalize that stupid line of dialog. No, it's not an expression of some kind of exotic sexuality. It's avoidance, pure and simple.

Not sure ... I don't know if they've even started production yet. But at least the big scare is past us and they were able to get funding and the series will come to be, and with the same cast.

You make some excellent points. I guess with Pi being judged negatively for his appearance all his life, he has come up with a strategy of 'hit them first before they get a chance to hit ME.' Unlearning that will take time.

It's great to see your review for this series because having made the journey with you, I know how how much it meant to you and how well you could see past its flaws. You had the insight to appreciate everything that was good about it.

A friend of mine just started watching the series. I've tried to give him a spoiler-free sense of what to expect but if he starts to get put off by it, I'll have him read your review.

Poppy is great. I have seen him do comedy roles and that seemed like it would be his contribution for this series, but here he showed how he can take a sudden turn with his performance and deliver something dramatic and powerful.

He will also be playing one of Mork's two gay dads in 'My Ride'. I guess he's pretty vers as an actor. ;)

Based on the trailer I expected a series featuring likeable characters.

Is that something that's limited to Oscar-winning films?

If it had been a real kiss then that would have reflected poorly on Mork. Pi was drunk and didn't know what he was doing. I'm glad it went only as far as it did.

The brothers are so unlikable. Why does Mork feel any attraction for Pi at all? And Duean is just a big-mouth who apparently is destined to fall for Meen (yeah, that makes sense). I ended up skipping that unbelievably tiresome 'water bottle' sequence, and having Duean scream into the camera is not my idea of entertainment.

(By the way, the water fight in 'Love Sick' was 100x better. The writer for this series was dumb to even tread there.)

I'll keep watching but only because I know that eventually Mork will sour on Pi and that's when Pi will start to resemble a human being.

Lowered my score from 10 to 7. I haven't been this disappointed since '2gether'.
