I like it, but I still think that it's overrated. It's already in people's fav series of all time and I don't…
Yes, the emotional commitment isn't there. Bright is holding back. He also looks uncomfortable in the interviews and appearances that I've seen him do for the series. It's so striking when you compare him to Win, who seems to be having a really good time dealing with fans and fame -- or when you compare Bright to the actors who did promos for other series like UWMA, TharnType, Why R U, etc.
It's also interesting to compare Bright and Win's Instagram feeds. Win posts a lot of funny, goofy stuff. All I can remember from Bright are still photos of him in different poses.
Contractually he'll be obligated to do fan meets once the Covid19 situation calms down. I'm curious to see how he will handle all those screaming girls, or (god forbid) a request that he show some affection toward Win live on-stage.
Unpopular opinion: It had the potential but it fell flat for me. I'm sorry but this series is so overrated. I…
I think a lot of people are blinded by a "Bright" light lol. To me he seems uncomfortable in a gay role, which would explain why he's playing Sarawat with a kind of cool detachment that makes it harder and harder for me to even imagine him making out with Win.
It won't surprise me if we never get a true, affectionate, reciprocated kiss between Sarawat and Tine. As others have commented, other BL series have done that. The odd directorial choices in Episode 10 make me believe that they're purposely putting guard rails around the production when it comes to that sort of thing.
It also won't surprise me if we never see Bright in another BL series.
I suspect the main reason for the series' indifference to physical affection (let alone intimacy) is because it…
Yes, not only that, but he mentioned something like that in the exact same interview where he told the story about getting the part and not realizing it was a gay role, and meeting Win. The exact ...same ... Hello Asian interview.
Win backs up Bright's story about being stand-offish and walking away from him.
Later in the same interview Bright says that they had mentioned "2gether" to him as a possible series so he had read the novel, and he thought the character fit him. At this point Win says nothing -- maybe because he was as confused as I was, since a few minutes earlier Bright had said he was surprised to get the part and unhappy that it was a gay character.
I hope Bright feels more charitable toward gay roles now. Before "2gether" he was in a couple of series and his career went nowhere. Now he's a star with 3 million Instagram followers.
The age rating for this series is 13+. When it was 15+, I was expecting a kiss in one of the last few episodes…
I saw most of Thank God It's Friday and I think you're right, the actors were all (or nearly all) underage. (Side comment: that was a strange series for me.)
You reminded me of the end of Season 2 of Love Sick, where the camera starts to zoom in on Phun and Non as they go in for a kiss, and Non puts his hand over the camera at the last second. At the time I think Captain might have been underage.
Sarawat did kiss Tine earlier, during the games at the music club's 'welcome' event. It was a damn nice kiss -- soft and tender. I'd love to see another one like that before the series ends, this time with Tine reciprocating.
ok, let's get something straight. the target demography for this show are kids and teenagers so any kind of physical…
I suspect the main reason for the series' indifference to physical affection (let alone intimacy) is because it is being broadcast on GMMTV.
GMMTV has a reputation for putting the brakes on sexual scenes in BL.
I've also wondered if either Bright or Win (or both of them) have wanted the depictions of guy-on-guy sex to be limited. In an interview Bright said when he first got the role he didn't realize it involved two guys in a relationship. He quickly figured it out, and in his initial meeting to get introduced to Win, both he and Win admitted that Bright would only shake his hand and glare at him, and then walk away.
I won't be surprised if the series ends with none of the episodes having shown the two of them in a passionate kiss.
this is amazing, can we appreciate how we live in a time where people not only on this page but 2gether's page…
Ironically, I think there's some homophobia at play when people complain about too much physical expression of love in BL. It's like they want to have the fantasy but none of the "messy reality" of what it means to be in a relationship with someone of the same sex.
i’ve heard somewhere that there will be a special episode that only focus on SaiZon is that right everyone?…
Yes, the official Twitter account for the series made a big point of saying there will be a Saifah-Zon special once Covid-19 no longer prevents the crew from working.
One of the most insightful reviews I've read on here. Your analysis of Zee's acting and Fighter's character is fantastic. This was Zee's moment most of all, and I can't wait to see what his next role is like.
I think I liked the Saifah-Zon pairing more than you did, but I also think I was more willing to fill in the story gaps on my own, which is cheating in a way. Like you I'm disappointed that we didn't get to see the changes between them happen more on-screen. Watching that transformation is my favorite part of an enemies-to-lovers story.
As for Blue and the team ... their situation only proved how there were too many characters for the story to handle. Toward the end of the series as I watched the opening credits for each episode, I knew some of those people were doomed to never show up again, and it only made it more obvious how overcrowded the cast was.
Yeah, it's pathetic. On Twitter people are posting and reposting the shot of the two of them on the couch with…
We're not asking for a lot of sexy scenes. We'd like to see some kisses that look vaguely romantic or even just see them holding hands -- something that denotes there's more there than bromance.
I think the best kiss in the series so far was when Sarawat kissed Tine during the music club's orientation ceremony.
It's also interesting to compare Bright and Win's Instagram feeds. Win posts a lot of funny, goofy stuff. All I can remember from Bright are still photos of him in different poses.

And you make an excellent point that destroys my argument. That series included a lot of physical action. So much for my credibility lol.

They have just three episodes to get this one out of the 'bromance' category. I hope they'll do that.
I'm gonna say no sex, and not only that, but I think it was the director's intention to make it clear it didn't happen.

"I'll give in to you only."
It gives me goosebumps just thinking about it.

Wholesome shouldn't have to mean sterile.
