It's about an angel who deals with death and wants to become human, so why is it that for me the strangest thing in the series is a teacher who "lectures" by playing a sound recording at the front of the classroom every day -- with no student ever telling their parents and no parents ever complaining.
The success of the series shows how much fans are dedicated and fond of it, quantity can also measure the goodness…
Fridays after May 15 will have The Shipper in 2gether's time slot. It qualifies as a BL, but for all the people who are happy not to see skinship between two guys you might want to skip it. It won't be the same as 2gether's whitewash of m/m interaction.
Even with all the kisses and sex, I still didn't like TharnType because their relationship was toxic and both…
Book adaptations into movies and series frequently change the scenes or include original scenes. They even sometimes change the endings. There is no immutable law that screen adaptations have to follow a book like it's holy scripture.
As for Bright and Win, I don't care one iota about shipping them. Heck, in the context of the series they behave so much like best bros that I can't even picture Sarawat kissing Tine, let alone Bright kissing Win. I think once the virus pandemic settles down and they start doing fan appearances, these will be very different from what we typically see from other series. Bright and Win stand next to each other on stage, probably three feet apart so there's no chance for skinship, and wave at the audience as all the girls scream for them. Whatever floats your boat.
I think it's laughable how so many scenes in 2gether seem to work their way up to a moment where a real couple would put their arms around each other, or cuddle, or embrace, or even kiss (if only with a peck on the lips), and in this series they don't follow through. It comes across as so deliberate that you could wonder if this whole thing is meant as a satire of a BL.
Lots of views doesn't mean quality. It means the series is appealing to a mainstream audience by having Sawarat do things like pat Tine on the head instead of holding him close. Every aspect of this production seems aimed at that, and it has done a great job of it. At the same time, those of us who are disappointed have good reasons for feeling that way.
This drama was the exception to my usual approach when I rewatch one. Instead of dipping into favorite scenes in different episodes, I rewatched from start to finish.
I agree with everything you say in your review. I loved the female lead and how strong she was. For instance, even though the guy she was dealing with is someone she's been obsessed with for years, she wasn't afraid to stick it to him when he was judging her unfairly, and walk away from him and their friendship.
I also liked how her roommate gained such a strong backbone over the course of the series and became her own person in the end.
As for the ML, he wasn't the kind of guy I usually feel drawn to in a drama, but over time he grew on me and I could see exactly what attracted her to him.
His suitemates were so funny and lovable, too, including the guy who you never saw out of bed and the way they all referred to each other by number instead of name. This didn't really "add" anything to the series except a little quirkiness, but I guarantee that I'll never forget it because it was so cute.
SML Syndrome is strong in this one. So much so that it should probably come with a warning label.
Thank you for your review. It brought me happy memories of a favorite series.
The only thing that got me through this is Folks plump lips. Give the man a new series with a partner he has chemistry…
lmao .. agreed!! Whenever a character swooned over Gun being the perfect man I wondered if they thought by saying it enough times they'd convince us of it too.
Why does Season 2 have to have an "evil mastermind" playing people off each other in an attempt to make things interesting? If the writers had wanted to explore the contrast between Hyun Ho and Seunghyun and consider how different each would be as a boyfriend for Yeon Doo, they could have done it in ways that didn't require these dumb setups where if these were all real people they'd have to be the most gullible bunch on the planet.
Season 1 was entirely character-driven. I'm almost finished rewatching it now and the difference is striking.
Also, I feel really protective of Seunghyun. He's clearly a very guarded person who is struggling to to open up and experience some real feels. (How much more rewarding it would have been to see more of his background so that we could understand what made him this way.) I don't want the outcome of this season to be that he's all alone and made out to be the bad guy. I also don't want him paired up with Yuna, who doesn't deserve to be rewarded for being such a terrible "best friend".
Unfortunately, like they did in the first season with the hateful Ryu Sul I think they'll prop up a ridiculous "redemption" storyline for Yuna in the end. She'll see how wrong she was, and beg for forgiveness, and of course she'll be forgiven, and then she'll get Seunghyun as a boyfriend. And I'll hate every minute of it.
50 percent that you might like it because like school 2015 it is good but the bullying goes way to far in my opinion…
I think it will be Krist, not necessarily because that's how School 2015 did it, but because in terms of dramatic effect there is more impact if the guy who originally chased the "tough twin" ends up with the "gentle twin". It also gives the "tough twin" a chance to show that she loves her sister so much that she doesn't feel resentful, and symbolically lets her sister have him.
Kay's happy ending will probably be the improved relationship with his dad, just like in School 2015.
SL Syndrome is strong in this one though. I loved Yook Sung Jae in his role and I can already see that Kay is going to tug at my heart as well.
Although Tine went from being Mr. Chic to Mr. Weak over the course of two episodes I don’t see anyone saying…
I'm gay and I think you both have a point. BL's promote a lot of stereotypes about m/m relationships and rely on distinctions between top and bottom way too much. This includes often giving the bottom a more submissive personality.
And it would be great if they'd stop doing that!
Why R U did something cool in the last episode. As Fighter and Tutor were about to have sex, Tutor paused to ask Fighter (in so many words) if he (Tutor) can be the top sometime, and Fighter said yes.
For people complaining over Tine and how he is different from the novel (?) let me tell you all. I am really tired…
Although Tine went from being Mr. Chic to Mr. Weak over the course of two episodes I don’t see anyone saying it’s because he became a bottom or began to exude stereotypical ‘bottom’ characteristics. The series doesn’t have sex in it anyway so to debate top vs. bottom is pointless.
I love vulnerable male characters. My complaint is that Tine went through a transformation that the script doesn’t explain or justify. His personality just suddenly became different. However, my guess is that it was all done to better serve the tired ‘jealousy’ theme of this week’s episode. We’re not talking about artful or subtle writers here.
I know a lot of people worship Krist but for me he's no Nam Joo Hyuk, and furthermore I think he's too old to be cast as a high school student.
Yook Sung Jae was superb in his role in School 2015 and I think it would also be hard to equal or do better than him. I'm not familiar with Kay Lertsittichai, but seeing that Sing is also in the cast makes me think he'd be well-suited to the unpredictable "rebel with a heart of gold" that Yook Sung Jae played.
However, I need to give this a chance. I loved School 2015 so much that I can't resist trying this one out.
Now THAT is fantasy fiction! lol
So you're asking us to steal from ourselves.

I watched this version yesterday and skipped over them there, too. So far it's a pretty good remake. The leads are doing better than I expected.
