When Episode 6 started with Chan Yeong running around the track I immediately tensed up. When he's on screen now I guess I'm conditioned to react that way. Anyway, I zipped over all of his 1:1 scenes with Ji Yu and I'm sure I didn't miss anything.
It occurred to me that the only useful thing that Chan Yeong adds to the story is to ruin Heesu's fantasy that Seung Won can end up with Ji Yu. Now that that's happened, CY's relationship with JY can be safely sidelined. Could that have been its whole purpose? After all, their courtship has been very cliched, indicating that the screenwriters didn't waste creative energy on it. It's possible that they've mainly been there as a plot device all along.
If so, we should be seeing much less of them for the rest of the series. 😊
to be blunt, I am a hetero person so it is interesting to see the bias of the lgbt+ and their insistence on watching…
Alas, from a storytelling perspective I think it says a lot that instead of showing us Heesu and Seong Won having chicken together they went to a scene of Chan Yeong at tennis practice.
When the Chan Young storyline is prioritized so blatantly you know they are consciously giving weight to the straight couple at the expense of even the most meager development of the gay couple. If only to show a contrast between how the boys interact now vs. later, why not give us a minute or two of their chicken dinner? This wasn't a mere oversight. It was done on purpose.
It makes me wonder if all of your excellent points would be lost on the people behind this series. It doesn't seem they think about it even close to that deeply. In fact it won't surprise me if Heesu's transformative moment is done via some kind of stock plot device. At this point I think we need to hope that they'll show it to us at all lol.
In the manga heesu naturally falls for seungwon without even being rejected by chanyoung, this drama makes it…
So far they’ve done nothing to establish romantic tension between Heesu and Seung Won, so I fear that when they finally do decide to spend some time on their story it will be rushed and unbelievable.
I felt uneasy watching Episode 4 because, as far as I'm concerned, I signed up to watch a BL show — and the…
And the b-g couple is so generic. And of course I'm sure we'll have to watch CY go through a stereotypical conflict with his dad over wanting to play tennis.
Any guess as to whether he'll enter the tournament and win, followed by a tearful realization by his dad?
also they have the time to waste on cy's tennis practice but not let us see sw and heesu's date???? im really…
I think that's when I really sat up and started to get pissed.
I was so excited after the first two episodes, but now the focus is entirely elsewhere. To skip the date and show tennis practice instead. Who writes this stuff?
Was the last episode directed by someone else? I loved the pace of the whole drama until the end, I liked it since…
I like to rewatch this but I always stop at Episode 6. I get the impression that the actors were just not comfortable doing intimate scenes with skinship, so the production tried its best to convey their love in other ways.
Alas, they fell short. The last episode is a muddle.
Strange, I'm only 30 mins. into the finale, and while I love all the characters, warts and all, and have done…
I hope you ended up loving it!
PJ had a couple of great "thespian" moments, don't you think?
There might be flaws here and there throughout the series, but overall I think it was magnificent. Leon is indeed the breakout star, though. Based on how it all started, who would have thought? 😎
I got halfway through and lost interest. It didn't seem that the two leads were really so drawn to each other. The dialog and action tried to put that forward, but for me it didn't succeed. I didn't find myself caring about their relationship.
I can see why other people might enjoy this but from my perspective life's too short.

It’s funny because Heesu and Seung Won are more complex as characters. CY and JY are just pretty people with pretty-people problems.

Your reply just now was more of the same.
Yeah, some of us think they're wasting time on the b/g relationship. If you don't agree, fine. But no need to denigrate the people who feel otherwise.

I love that it's still possible for something like this to come seemingly from out of nowhere and knock me off my feet.

Dropped.
