(I noticed that up till now you were and remain almost exclusively a Korean drama watcher. Perhaps you will also watch some c dramas too after Hidden Love?)
Happy you enjoyed this one almost as much as I did : I am always generous and see no reason to be stingy in my rating, when I like a drama.

Depends on how many replies there were to the start of the conversation. But on the computer and on my phone app, the replies appear as highlighted on a light blue background, so they are not too difficult to find if you don't have too serious color blindness (I am slightly color blind and see some colors differently from other people, but it's ok).

CZY is an endearingly modest guy.

it does somehow feel like one of the "I love Lusi but" or "I love Hidden Love but" devices from "Internet water army" hmmm ? Lipstick my foot.

Makeup was quite light and tasteful in this drama, not like the foundation gate that struck poor 2Bin recently (but he remains among my favorite, also for the graceful and humorous reaction he had to the "scandal". Anyway, I like 2Bin for his voice that can't easily be made up !! Presently following that actor together with YY, in another drama, but I'll be keeping an eye out for more CZY after Our Secret, Mr Bad, and this one)

I rewatched that one after Hidden Love, because my first watching it had gone unrecorded, although I liked it among other youth romances that I was casually watching then. I agree on rewatch that it is deeper and better than my superficial and partial impression - something had gone in the way so I had left to complete it "later". I think this is indeed a good drama in the filmography of Chen Zheyuan and Rainbow Xu. Worth the time spent on the 24+ episodes.

Ding Xian (Rainbow Xu) is a tenacious girl, stronger than she initially appears, despite the low expectations from her mom who wanted to dictate her choice of studies. Zhou Siyue (CZY) has an interesting evolution from the straight-A high school student to the rocky path of student in university. The friends, family, and some teachers ("auntie" Mr Liu) are adding variety to the story but do not hog too much space.

My personal favorites, which could be watched after HL if not already known, although they have tough moments because more "adult themed" :
Love Like The Galaxy (this is a costume drama, with unforgettable Zhao Lusi and Wu Lei)
One and Only + Forever and Ever (first part is costume, second one is modern reincarnation)

Checking her filmography, I would not be surprised Zhang Xiwei get main roles in the coming years after her already impressive list of child actor support ones. A promising 12 year old!

Yes, in the drama, Jiaxu had to be as clean as possible : non smoker and teetotaller, plus nice to everybody (although not really "central air conditioner" like) and still inexperienced about dating (needed advice from friends or from Internet! probably never watched romantic dramas or other nonsense, bc too busy with serious studies and work).
Also Jiaxu had perfect ethics about babysitting, tutoring, and how to awake interest in a subject matter for a child (He even had a CV to prove his pedagogical experience!) He was sensitive enough about the feelings of children, to save face for the girl in an embarrassing moment, but be honest with their family about the problems (telling the big brother about his proposed substitution at the school) and help enforce socially desirable morals and politeness.
The "ideal" son-in-law despite the glitch about the painful past.
He could have been boring, but he turned out sweet and hot !!

MK916 usually makes very nice fan edit summaries, and has already issued a few Shorts about Hidden Love, on YouTube. But perhaps they are too busy making an edit summary of another one, or perhaps they are waiting until the drama is fully released including on Netflix so it does not take away audience (and enable those who "watch a drama" by relying on clips, trailers, and edits... some of them even rate the drama from such sketchy sources 🙄)

Me too, of course! This turned out so well, despite the hurdles. The choices were well made, despite what some scruffy grumblers wanted to criticize them.
I even found an interesting Weibo item about the gallery of clothes and brands, featured (not as obtrusively as in some other dramas, btw), to add to the Discussion I started about "shooting locations, dates and miscellaneous" other facts, so that such information can be pinned there for better access.

And yet they all remembered they only had clothes for 2 days shooting, so ZLS had to provide out of her own wardrobe and go hunting to help, also the other actors ! And even implicate herself more in the shooting, together with the lady director.
Ok it was covid times but it looks like everything did not go smoothly as if it was paved with gold for them to roll in..
