She also plays under the name Wu Xinman 吴欣蔓 in vertical dramas; for instance in Three Points of Obedience 《三分乖》 alongside ML Gan Wangxing 甘望星 (not on MDL) link below
Here is another one that commentators on Youtube find very funny : 極品辣媽好威武爹地接招吧 Jípǐn là mā hǎo wēiwǔ diē dì jiē zhāo ba (The Hottest Mom, So Mighty Daddy, Take It)
Are you one of his companies? Your thoughts are on the same level. Just walk away, you have to stop doing this.
actually I think this is one that I blocked so I am spared from rants against me there although "message alerts" still may appear, with no contents - Pitying those who have to read the bilge and venom
do you know if there's a good very recent adaptation of The Story of the Western Wing by Wang Shifu (apart from…
Yes let's just enjoy! I have fallen behind on my currently airing dramas, and there is an avalanche in wait coming in the next few days. I am finishing The Immortal Ascension, but did not read the novel or watch the longer donghua, so perhaps this is one I might re-watch later to better grasp what was going on, since it is quick paced. But I will not have time or energy for a long companion piece like the ones I did for other wuxia, xianxia, xuanhuan or adapted from donghua dramas.
I noticed you are watching ADWAD ; but perhaps you ought to have watched some other dramas (especially "A Journey To Love") before tackling that one, which is filled with visual and language quotes from other dramas being lampooned, so the references (also to Chinese Zhuangzi and other philosophy and literature classics) are clear to those who watched these other dramas as "shared culture" but will be lost and make the drama sometimes wholly incomprehensible for those who don't have those keys.
Much easier, and somewhat in the same spirit as ADWAD, is "Filter", one drama you seemingly missed out on. It is very comedic, and easy to get into especially for those who have some previous fond memories of Looney Tunes cartoons and 1960s Shanghai animation movies such as Danao Tiangong, the masterpiece of Wu Laiming.

Sorry, I have not watched everything, am still discovering old and new nuggets. I am a long time lover of Chinese movies, dramas and culture, but not an academic authority... The 2013 adaptation did not blip on my radar since that was a special year for me wherein I moved a lot irl and did not watch much that I remember. But I will now put it on my tbw list for the future. The MDL page for it did not feature the English subtitled version, so I just added it in there ;) Thanks for mentioning it ! Wishing you continued pleasure drama and movie watching! :)
blacklisted. No she is not like having tax scandals, illegal surrogacy, wearing a Japanese empire flag or unwittingly spreading pictures of a certain temple where Japanese torturers are worshiped and sitting beside families of criminals for a wedding; she has not seduced underage kids or beaten a spouse, or betrayed a lover who went public on social media out of spite. Nothing of that caliber. Hers is an industrial dispute where there are reasons to consider her case and to make the industry better in light of "social responsibility" standards. Whistle-blowers are of course most often viewed with suspicion at first but even Dr Li Wenliang was exonerated for his posts about covid; Wuhan police formally apologized to his family and revoked his admonishment on 19 March. In April 2020, Li was posthumously awarded the May Fourth Medal by the government. He is now considered a martyr who did his best in his profession.
What everybody knows is that you are a troll ,and a hater in chief who pops up everywhere her name is mentioned…
I did not mean to blame you, since I don't know you, and agree that you may be confused, but weighed in where unfortunately those who want to be unbiased end up as appearing clueless or with some agenda. You are of course entitled to think and even write whatever you like. But neutrality here will be suspicious to both sides in the feud.... Not that it really matters: it is not your fight and I suppose you only reacted like someone on the side line of the ring where boxers are exchanging bloody punches. You can't really act as referee though, if you don't know the rules of the fight. Even I would prefer other people, better steeped in full and fresh information like MikaM to be referees.
This stuff is still happening? I thought last year or the year before this stuff first surfaced?
It could have died down if KU had made good on their promises. They simply did not, and worse, probably orchestrated the slime campaign targeting her while the actress was sick and recovering after December 2024. You have examples of what mud is thrown in some comments by well known haters such as Shen Li, Melon Lover and a number of others who one can't help must have an agenda (paid by company?) further to their brandishing another fandom to stir up rumors of or igniting fan wars, to go on here with their poison. it is a well known fact that fan wars and antifans are paid by some companies to get more traffic to posts about their rivaling productions. This is called "water army " doing.

If you don't follow celebrities much you likely have no real information about what is being debated and your reaction although you try to be "balanced" is twisted. Yes, ZLS was at fault : for trusting and signing without enough caution the slave contract with KU that had her work to the bones literally for the many dramas you watched leisurely, wherein one saw her waste away from the bubbly, healthy baby fat cheeked teen she was, to almost concentration camp escapee in hospital. Should she be blamed. Assuredly. Those who suffer misfortunes such as a plane crash on their homes or a landslide crushing their legs should also be blamed for not having moved house early enough! Think.
Would love to meet the ones who raised you. You have so much compassion for the one who is crying for help. May…
Shen Li and some others here, easily spotted, are rabid haters of Zhao Lusi. Shen Li masquerades as a fan of Zhao Liying. Being a follower of ZLY too, I can't let go that Shen Li throws bad light on Zhao Liying fandom as well and paint the two actresses and their fandom as enemies. Even if they were not bosom friends this is unconscionable.
I wish Zhao Lusi the best of luck and success with her plans to sue her agency. After reading several posts from…
Divorces are seldom consensual if money is involved. it is very rarely like in the song by Firdhaus covered by Zhang Bichen among others : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=95leveNZUq4
As I already said in several comments before, we will find out more and more things about KU dirty tricks and…
With you on your observations and infos, MikaM ! It is a worrying tug-of-war. I read elsewhere that post that shows KU did not only harm Zhao Lusi but others who entered contracts in good faith with them but found the company did not live up to their written promises.
Not even the founder of Alibaba is safe lol. Jack ma was wiped off the face of the earth for "re-education"…
But even if they have money Alibaba and Jack Ma would weigh what damage to their image could do if they go on siding with an asset that did not meet up to standards for gaining soft power and revenue: KU will likely not be supported too long if they don't find an acceptable solution outside court and public arena, to quell the fire that has been lit. It will become an ideal scapegoat and suffer differently but perhaps as cripplingly as ZLS.
even YouTube in the land of free speech censors hate speech, although they allow some scolding when there are real grounds for it. Blaming a sick person for being sick is.... sick and hate speech. I am also repelled by some here who under cover of expressing what they think is the other point of view, from KU (although not admitting being paid by it) direct more hate and slander at the young woman.
Well... ending in a hospital for starving oneself to 37 kg is not exactly being ill. That is having a psychological…
"She is said to come from a rich family and counts among the top earners in China." You rely on rumors spread by haters. She does not belong to the fuerdai whatever you try to imply. If she did, she would not need to have worked herself to the bone and breakdown, but just enjoyed her diamonds and private jets : she is not that rich. Not a pauper, but what she earned is under threat by the company which does really aim to clean her savings from her.
You have no notion of what contracts indemnities can be. Even Huang Zitao suffered and would have been destroyed if he, contrary to ZLS, did not have a real billionaire father at the time of his breaking contract from EXO, following his potentially crippling injury which was not addressed correctly in South Korea. His story is also a cautionary tale to know for those who try the idol path. Although I am not sure they are acquainted, I think that perhaps, he could help and offer a more humane contract if she joined LTao. But perhaps it's going to be Yang Mi who also suffered before, who will be extending a hand. She already spoke up in favor of ZLS., after the exchange on Weibo.
One thing is sure, you would not be able to pay for damages or slander, even if you write at length as if you were commissioned by KU to throw doubts on her medical bills.
