Often when the drama nears ending, there could be an "express option" for an additional fee, to watch the remaining episodes in advance instead of sticking with the published schedule. But yes, maybe the production will not try that. If they don't we will have to wait till Dec 26-27 to watch till end, according to schedule. If they do, the remaining episodes might be released tomorrow or day next, after episode 36, on the eve of the 3-day gap with no episode before Dec.24 (strange schedule).
They were the lead couple in Thousand Years for You. She named him best kisser among her co-leads. 😜I also…
Ah... but Mavix liked it so it can't be totally bad, can it? At the time, I just slapped an 8.5 out of leniency and liking for Rosy, whose earlier work I was speeding through, resting longer on the very funny story of the Ophiuchus hidden 13th Zodiac gambling with her supposed jailors.
(btw, it's the period now for the Serpentarius stars Noc29-Dec17, 1st December to 18th December according to different source. Somewhat fitting with the drama at hand airing dates? ssslithering my way through episodes)
They were the lead couple in Thousand Years for You. She named him best kisser among her co-leads. 😜I also…
Happens to me too, sometimes. :) And it's true that : titles are somewhat similar + for me, it's the one I least remember among the ZLS dramas I watched, so would not have thought about it if there was not this exchange!!! Perhaps I need to give it a renewed watch sometime. lol
They were the lead couple in Thousand Years for You. She named him best kisser among her co-leads. 😜I also…
yes, thanks, you are right, I'd plain.... forgotten about that one. Perhaps I ought to skim through it again for refresher. Fact is the kissing scenes rarely impress me, though, and especially not there. Personal appreciation. Hoping it's not your all-time favorite drama that I don't saw eye to eye with you there ; at the time of watching, I saw a lot of other dramas of similar theme, so despite generally liking because of ZLS, all those fantasy dramas blurred into a soup in my memory, and I was glad to see her tackling other more amusing or serious themes as time went by (DITK, RoTaR, WRTW, LLTG, GenZ, even Hutong...). In fact, at the time, I was more amused by some older dramas for which ZLS had a nice song. (OME!) I also have to admit that this is one drama that I did not watch with much attention, maybe due to editing and plotholes? Sure, I shall try to re-watch LoaTY in a renewed and more favorable light, when I have time, in case I did not do it justice ;) But after this BO drama which I am still slowly savoring <
They were the lead couple in Thousand Years for You. She named him best kisser among her co-leads. 😜I also…
I think you are mistaken about drama name.....
Zheng Ye Cheng did not play in Thousand Years For You, leads were Li Qin and Ren Jialun in that one. Zheng Ye Cheng has not been Zhao Lusi's co-lead in any of the dramas he played in, yet ? Nor in upcoming projects, but there'll perhaps be time for that in the longer future.
Not sure ZLS and ZYC kissed privately either. But that does not mean they can't be in the same circle of c-ent friends. The little lady who likes sweet cakes has many, including Esther Yu, despite the unfortunate tiff between their fandom about TSoPG and LGiEF competition, and I don't think they have grown to become personal enemies because of it. Both being Sichuan people and attached to their home towns, ZLS and TSY also have common ground and even if not flaunting friendship may very well be acquainted and agree on some ideas and art, or pet rearing.
In my opinion, both TSoPG and Brocade Odyssey have similar goals about promoting intangible cultural heritage and interest for the historical period through enjoyable and colorful fiction (not showing actual rulers or historical people, but much more to our time's 'laobaixing', the different but relatable ordinary people of past times and their extraordinary talents ;) So, I am not surprised ZLS thought of promoting BO : it would make sense also in broader perspective about that type of dramas, and of course, if she appreciates privately ZYC screenwork and personality.
Did they AI ZHW bc of his scandal? It's tripping me out... haha
Yes, same initials : find him as Zhang HUA Wei in the actors directory.
I don't know if MDL cast should keep "original" ZHW : he has been struck from the 23 in cast listed on Baidu. It's complicated now when same character can appear in original (and voice?) but be AI "face lifted" because some scandal makes original actor persona non grata on screen.
Btw I submitted the 14 or so additional names of support actors/actresses to complete the cast (until Baidu adds more) : they are on dramawiki too now, let's see when they will be registered on MDL... These have no scandal. Many young faces, a few old ones.
I saw new trailer. 3rd ml’s face is changed with ai
Is that Zhao HUA Wei's face replacing Zhao Hao Wei's who was embroiled in a lamentable cheat scandal that caused him to 'put career on a break' while being busy with law suit? ...so many dramas around dramas... But AI face shifting there is perhaps best solution then.
Here they changed the 3rd ML ZHW. Replaced him with another actor
Oh, I see, replaced by actor with almost same name?
Down in comments : "krissylim 4 days ago Full cast has been announced, and as expected, they replaced ZHW with another actor. The role of Zhao Xiu Yuan will now be played by actor Zhao Hua Wei! The delay of broadcasting is probably due to this."
'Zhao Hua Wei' age would fit better if it is the one that has a page on MDL.

listening to the 6 snippets, one sounds a bit familiar in tune.
Here they changed the 3rd ML ZHW. Replaced him with another actor
So MDL cast needs to be corrected.
Wonder what sort of trouble Zhang Haowei got into after a 14 year career and playing in relatively memorable roles like Crown Prince in JoL2. Dramawiki mention he put his career on "a break" after being "exposed to cheating" (??) but I did not follow the gossip about him when that happened. His face is also cause now for delay of other dramas, and dramawiki mentioned his role in 'Sheng Nv" was replaced.
Baidu cast list for Brocade Odyssey mentions a 'Mr Zhao' played by Kou Zhen Hai who is 70 years old, so that can't be ZHW replacement.
ZHW is still listed on dramawiki for the Zhao Xiuyuan role, which clear was struck on Baidu list...
Dramas about dramas, gasp. --- Wondering what's happening to Golden Hairpin, where the ML got into much more serious trouble. Supposedly it got reshot in parts, and Yang Zi who is FL there put in a lot to revive the drama, but it looks like it is still "on the shelf" like many dramas that fell foul of pebbles on the way in worse fashion than this ZHW scandal.
Tan Sonyun in brocade sewing again but in Tang dynasty instead of Ming like "The Sword and The Brocade" (which I liked!) Looking forward to this drama, although I think Youku only platform is perhaps a mistake given the apparent level of investment. I read somewhere that one actor (who also played in Love has fireworks - not yet aired) had trouble with a law suit and was given the AI face replacement treatment. Any more info on that?
According to an article in Chinese on Baidu : SVIP started with 6 episodes, and will update with 3 episodes per day for 15 days until finale. Regular VIP run is scheduled to last 16 days.
It is a 'fairy tale' with a lot of puns and comedy. Not sure is will appeal in translation as much as to original language audience looking for a quick and easy pastime after the heavier dramas with sad ends or just lukewarm matter of fact ends that have been prevalent lately.
The compilation of hit songs is a fun addition: several tunes were familiar to me although some are just fuzzy in my mandopop addict mind, unlike the first Mangzhong song which must have had rights sold here to come back many times.
Still, despite the fresh faces of these young actors, I am not sure I will go on. Perhaps I shall wait for the compilation/abridged 'movie edition' of the short episodes, that is likely to land later on YouTube. (About 6-7hrs? in 2-3 linked videos? could that be done? will I be interested?) There is too much to watch, anyway, lol !
Im wondering if the production left it a bit open in case they wanted to expand on Duan Wu's story later on. As…
The passing of Cui shijiu's father show some of the mourning rituals. You can also look at the homages to Lady Huan after her death. White is the color of mourning. The friends would come for mourning together, like the songstresses did when they thought Duanwu was dead. Offering fruit and/or cakes on the altar, to symbolically nourish the soul of the departed, throwing in the wind or burning special paper money for the underworld, pour alcohol on the ground, also as offering. For close relatives, the mourning period has a fixed length, it may vary between one month to three years "shǒusāng" depending on family origins in China and their relationship to the person who has died. In that period, the mourner would wear white and even a veil on head. The mourning rituals have survived to this day in some families, that's also why Huang Zitao did not want to get married in the three years after his father's sudden death.
The deceased of sufficiently moneyed families were taken away to burial grounds in coffins. and the graves would have a monument, or at least a mound and marker. The 'tablets' recording names would be placed in a designated space like on Yan Zijing.s ship or in an "ancestral hall" for remembrance and worship. There would be mentions in the books of genealogies, which are still maintained by many families, not just noble and titled families, since merchant, literary or military clans also existed for centuries and longer.
Yes, Duanwu was not dressed in mourning at the last Exhibition and guild master choice, so Yan Zijing was not dead. There is hope indeed that they went away together after the Exhibition, to live the "rest of his life together until death parted them" in a private place. Even if it was the last sparks, and the shooting star glimpsed announced a last journey, which for drama length reasons could not be expanded on without opening a second season, as LYN hinted at in a quip.
