I thought that maybe she wouldn't seek revenge in the way she had always imagined, and that it would perhaps be…
You'd make a better scriptwriter tbh. I didn't think that she would actually go stab the emperor but more like what you said. They could've showed her coming to that realization of all that in a much MUCH better way than what was given to us. A good script and direction would give us a deeper and profound scene there. Also, the emperor actor is brilliant but they wasted his talents.

I don’t know if this is in the novel too coz if it’s not, I’d feel betrayed by the scriptwriter. I like…
It'll be better for Amai to go to Beimo and help attack Nanxia lol

This drama is about Amai joining the army in her quest for revenge isn't it? Suddenly it's about the ML's journey to taking the throne. Contrary to most ppl here, I like SYZ(and the other male leads) but this is about Amai! What makes the director & scriptwriter think it's a good decision to suddenly turn Amai into a passive side character waiting to get married?! Where's her rage when she came face to face with the emperor? Isn't this supposed to be the climax of the drama? I felt robbed and betrayed!

And the way that the Emperor just oh your the daughter of one of the zillion people I killed I’ll just drink…
Exactly! I was left wondering what was the actual plot of this drama? The emperor just killed himself and Amai's like "welp, that's it, so much for my revenge" duhhhh

I don't normally drop dramas unless they're really insufferably bad so I'm gonna continue watching till the end. BUT I don't like the lazy writing in recent episodes. They're killing off characters quickly just to move the plot along. It's a mess and they treat viewers like we're dumdums. I'm not gonna think too deeply why things happen or nothing will make sense! Even Chang Yuqing looked like he's so done with his character in yesterday's episode 😓

Wow, didn’t expect that from Mu Bai. After everything he’s been through with her….this is what he did? Yep,…

which controversy?.... I noticed the huge drop, too... communist era movies aren't popular, I rarely watch them…
When antis go crazy they don’t care what the truth is. I hope his studio is proactive in damage control.

Surely not, please not MaRong love triangle, such an irritating character, she gives me a headache.
I’m also not interested in the romance but Cdrama always wanna add romance into every story. I think Cao An has some secrets which eventually will lead to a case. I don’t know the story but I base this off her flashback scene & the way she appeared in Di Renjie’s life.

There’s just no chemistry between this Ma Rong actress & Zhou Yi Wei. Not just her, even the other sidekick seems so boring that I don’t even remember his name 😪

I do like Ma Rong’s character and yes, actually I don’t have a big problem with Ma Rong being changed into a female even though I prefer that they don’t. I do agree that the actress is a miscast.

Smart? I can’t think of a single good decision he has made on his own without help from others
He decided to trust Amai and helped keep her secret from the beginning. I think that says a lot about his character.

The princess has always been about protecting Shang Yizhi. Everything she did was to put him in the safest situation and now she thinks that being the emperor is the safest position he could be.

From what I read in the comments on Weibo, he’s being targeted lately because there were several negative HS topics abt him recently. I’m not his fan so didn’t keep track of his news. I would be concerned if I were him and his studio because I’ve seen a pattern of actors getting cancelled or even soft banned for unfounded rumors and slanders when their popularity rises.

I think that’s because technically Shang Wei did kill her family although under the emperor’s order. She’s afraid that SYZ will be killed by Amai one day. She doesn’t trust Amai. Unless there’s a bigger reason we don’t know yet. I still believe the emperor had ordered it because Shang Wei is not that kind of person who would kill innocent lives if he had a choice.

I wish they had maintained the character as a male instead of changing it into a female. We have enough female side characters and Cao An. I think that’s good enough. I don’t like the jealousy trope,
