Exactly. he's taking his time with that, but he was easily able to finish Koh's drawing in no time. The difference…
Today is D day! Unfortunately, I have some loose ends to tie up today, so I may watch it at a much, much later time.

Highlight: That glow! 🌟

Tae is pretty, so it's obvious that Ice would be pretty, but I thought it'd be impossible for Ice to get any prettier - he was cute throughout this episode, probably the cutest I've seen him with Saint throughout the series - but he did!

At the very end of the episode, Ice seems ethereal, untouchable, much prettier than he was throughout the entire series. He was glowing.

This beauty was a visual storytelling feast for the eyes. It's Ice arriving at his peace finally. There's no more stops for him to make. He has family, he has Saint, he is complete and Tae pulled it off magnificently.

I love that in the final moments I see Ice, the camera lets him be beautiful without any burden. He seems lighter, his features look gentler, his smile brighter, his beautiful skin is aglow next to Saint's, and his eyes are not guarded anymore. His body language is open, fluid, and unflinching throughout the episode mapping the journey that he's been on.

Ice is beautiful in the final scene because he's at rest, he's chosen, he's settled and there's no more fear. Excuse me while I go cry in the corner while 'Complete Mess' by 5sos play softly in the background to the last scene because that song totally suits the mood:

🎶 Caught up in heaven. But your heaven ain't the same. And I've never been a saint, have I 🎶

See, it even mentions Saint! 😂

Characters who learn to live again are unforgettable and I've become so fond of Ice. What I love about Ice is that he wasn't no damsel in distress story and Prince Saint didn't save him. Saint stood by him while he found his footing.

I think I've paid too much attention to Tae throughout the series, but that was the point when I first started watching anyway. Hopefully I'll get to see more of Tae (& JaTae) in the future.

PP doesn't have anything for this year (yet). GMMTV should just gift me S2 and I'd be fine with it. More Thee is always appreciated.

Jira Angel 😇

When THE Gun Atthaphan walks into the room with those wings... Cinema, darling! Iconic! Epic! Weightless! Otherworldly! Breathtaking! 🧑‍🍳😘

A vision born of longing, not reality.

Koh's need made visible.

That dream sequence is probably the best I've seen in a long time. It shows how much Jira has become a source of comfort for Koh. Like when he's at his breaking point, his mind and thoughts go straight to Jira. A little obsession on his path, but at least he's real about it. 🤣

But the chemistry, too! Even in a surreal dream sequence, OffGun's chemistry plays out beautifully. It's dancing, it's sizzling, it's teasing!

These episodes are so beautifully shot, that they can pass for mini-movies.

Yes, but back to Jira Angel.

When the creature is first revealed, I loved how the camera slows down to revere its "existence". This creature can stand side by side with another creature that's been on my mind during this scene: Lestat (Tom Cruise's Lestat in 'Interview with the Vampire". I accept no other Lestat).

Lestat and Jira Angel are fantasies before they're people despite both of them being quite the opposite of each other. Lestat is erotic. He moves, invades spaces; Jira Angel is like a soft visitation. He's been chosen and not the other way around.

Lestat is Louis' fantasy of freedom; Jira Angel is Koh's fantasy of intimate comfort. The moment Lestat appears, Louis's fate is sealed; same goes for Koh. The kicker? In both cases, the fantasy precedes the reality — and the reality can never live up to it. 😔

But where Lestat refuses to be human, Jira Angel is doomed to become human. Because that angel falls, disappoints, and hurts people. He's a big, bright red flag when he's not angelic in Koh's dreams.

While Lestat's beauty (and TC was so beautiful that sometimes the screen couldn't contain his beauty) is a promise of damnation; Jira's angelic beauty is a promise of salvation that reality cannot keep.

Both entrances tell us the same thing: when desire arrives as something unreal, the fallout is inevitable. However, unlike Lestat, Jira never asked to be "worshipped".

Lestat choose divinity and revels in it; divinity is chosen for Jira. So in a sense, one devours worship while the other is devoured by it albeit unknowninly.

I've also looked at the scene from a mythical angle hence why I chose Lestat. Tom's Lestat survives because he embraced the myth; Jira is trapped inside one.

Alexa, play "Send Me Angel" by Real Life.

Rose petals kissing Koh 🌹

My utmost favorite scene from episode 5 was the descending rose petals scene. Koh sleeping. Rose petals blowing in the wind, so is Jira's hair. The song. The petals landing to softly kiss Koh's sleeping form. Inspiration lit.

That was a showstopping moment! That was visual poetry! To commemorate the moment, I've been writing short free verses so I'll share one here:

Koh gently sleeps, the wind
whispers -
rose petals falls to kiss his still form,
Inspiration awakens,
A perfect hush.

The scene recalls art where sleeping figures were surrounded by flowers and there are MANY I've seen! It brings to mind the paintings from Dante Gabriel Rossetti. Koh is like a Pre-Raphaelite saint.

Rose petals 🌹

THAT scene is perhaps the scene that's going to stay with me long after the show is over. I can't get over the rose petals gently falling and kissing Koh's artful sleeping form. 🧑‍🍳😘

I don't know if there's any symbolism behind the scene, but with THAT song playing in the background, it feels and reads like love arriving without consent. 💚

Roses are classic symbols of desire, romance and devotion and those aren't just any roses, they're Jira's. Earlier on, Koh offers Jira a rose to apologize. Later on, Jira's rose petals lands and covers Koh.

It's like affection descending rather than being pursued.

But the scene still needs to be studied even deeper. A burden is not being lifted here, it's literally being carried. It's like Koh's being blanketed by symbols of feeling he doesn't know how to carry.

Petals are not meant to last. Whatever is happening between Koh and Jira is beautiful in the moment, but fragile on the surface.

Another angle I looked at is how roses are given - and I keep going back to Koh giving Jira the rose. In this scene, Koh is asleep, and here, they fall, a gesture Koh isn't in control of. It's like he's visually positioned as vulnerable.

It's like Koh is drenched in love but he doesn't know how to return it for he's emotionally unequipped to hold onto it. I mean, he did cry at the painting.
