Unraveling the melody of the secrets. Pt. 1 π΅οΈ
Okay! Here I go putting on my psychological noir thriller hat on. Mind you, I'm at the hospital writing all of this! π In this exercise, I let my mind wander and write whatever comes to it in note taking form:
* First, I started with the meaning of the names. I'm not sure if they're 100% accurate, but it's what I yielded from my search:
Botphleng - "song" or "musical composition".
Tankhun - "worthy of you" or "deserving of you". It's a rough translation, but it fits with the character's portrayal.
Thunphob - Thun meaning wealty, resources, or foundation. Phob meaning world, realm or existence. So he has something like a solid foundation I guess. Something established, something real.
Somewhere else said that his character could represent a grounded past, or the life that exists outside the dream/memory loop.
Muenmile literally translates to βten thousand miles.β It's so poetic! π But the name carries weight. How far is Mile willing to go emotionally speaking? π€
* Next, I looked at the title: what is the melody of secrets? Melody is music. Like, is it a music box or song that contains a recording that could lead to the real killer? I've thought about it for too long and though I may be way off, it kind of fit for now.
* Based on the lighting, I deduce Pleng to be in a coma or dream-like state. I now think that Pleng is physically awake, but he is being psychologically managed. But by whom? Mile? His grandma? His mother? Dr. Jen?
* Pleng could have DID or a trauma-induced personality split (as indicated by Tankhun last episode). This personality was perhaps created to help him cope.
* My baby Mile! π I know he's not innocent, but I cannot pin down how and what way. π€ Is Mile drugging Pleng to suppress his original memories? Is he working with Pleng's grandmother to keep Pleng at bay? Did he and granny commit a crime that they want Pleng to forget about because he was a witness?
* Did Pleng's family kill Thunphob?
* Dr. Jen is also someone to be suspicious about. Did she by any chance falsify medical records? But my main concern is, does she get with my boy, Mile, because their chemistry is π₯.
Lol I just realized that too! All he talks about with Ing is Koh and how much of a jerk he is, but never once…
Yes, you've noticed, too! I didn't dwell on it for too long, though, but I think it might be something there as well. With Nuchy, there's always something.
What I like about the 11th episode is that it highlighted looks doesn't matter when it comes to SA victims. As professor Mint said, his targets were people who were "stupid" and who had nowhere to go.
The point isn't beauty as SA is about access and power, not attraction. It's about domination, not desire. The "stupid" in context here means isolated, vulnerable, unsupported ... People who won't be believed, who don't have leverage, and with nowhere safe to land if they resist.
Ice fits the profile when he was at the lowest point in his life. Predators don't hunt beauty, they hunt silence. Mint didn't choose Ice for his pretty looks, he chose Ice because he was reachable, vulnerable.
But now Ice has someone he can go to, someone who would believe him, someone to finally hold his hand. I liked the message in this episode overall.
I've been following this show every week and making my own notes. So far, the latest episode took shape of my notes down to where I first suspect that Tankhun only came because he suspected Pleng has something to do with his brother's death (at first).
I thought the scenarios were being carried out in Pleng's dreams from a coma, but after seeing the preview for next week, I have to recheck my notes.
Mile being himself and unfiltered is my favorite character overall! I keep watching for his ethereal presence and style. π₯
One thing is certain so far: whoever this masked figure is, they know the Avengers' darkest secrets, which means…
Exactly! I'm also looking at it from this angle. I've always listed two possible suspects from the group as well. It's all very exciting and I'm enjoying it.
And Koh tends to be asleep whenever Jira draws him. Everything's at peace including his thoughts. He doesn't have…
Very natural. They're co-dependents: Jira needs the man for his art (& money); Koh needs Jira to sleep. Exactly! He keeps telling himself that he can like Pheem, but he knows that deep down inside, those feelings won't bloom overnight like the flowers he keeps.

"Lookpeach."
"Peach."
"Lookpeach. Lookpeach. Lookp..."

That scene was almost an hour long for me. No wonder I couldn't finish the episode on time!
