Saying “there are many forms of love” shouldn’t be used to justify unhealthy dynamics. Where is an honest…
It’s pretty funny the lengths some of these people go to to defend this woman’s bad behavior. I’m willing to cut her slack when she was younger, but she’s like 30 years old now. No more excuses.
FL had the audacity to question ML when she saw ML with another girl but FL didn’t sayabout her past relationship…
She’s a very hypocritical person. She also said “I can’t stand So Hyeon because she stays friends with her exes.” Yet she’s doing exactly the same thing herself. She could have easily just stayed away from Tae Seo, but she forced herself into his life again only to hurt him once again.
I honestly can’t believe this got Netflix money. After one episode, the writing already feels like a complete…
It is unusual for Netflix. They’ve had some really good ones so far (Undercover Miss Hong, Can This Love Be Translated, Idol 1). This is definitely not good. It probably got the greenlight because of PJY and the huge success of Our Unwritten Seoul.
It’s fair to feel frustrated with her at times, but reducing her behavior to “childish” overlooks the context…
The thing is she hasn’t really shown a whole lot of “emotional growth” in the ten years since they were in high school. When she reunited with Tae Seo it was like nothing ever happened. She could have at the very least said something like “You know, I really didn’t handle the break-up very well and I apologize for that”. However, nothing from her. Then she treats her step-mom like absolute garbage which is not justified at all. I’ve seen tons of these dramas where the stepparents treated kids awfully, but that is not the case here. Now it appears she is showing up in his life again only to pull the disappearing act once again. It’s mind-boggling how some people here just want to ignore her bad behavior.
If this is what a "realistic love story" is like, I feel bad for man out there in real life..
Yes. This is not realistic at all. I doubt most men never date for ten years after a breakup and can’t move on from their ex. This is just female fantasy.
Really disappointed in episodes 5 and 6. As expected, the ML never did move on after FL broke up with him ten years prior. Then she walks back into his life after all this time and he takes her back. I’m still hoping the ML and 2FL end up together but I’m betting that won’t happen. I honestly can’t stand this FL at all, basically just uses people to get what she wants then tosses them aside.
Just halfway thru ep3, the work culture is ridiculously suffocating. Not surprising these East Asian countries…
It is crazy how it seems like people are expected to work 12 to 14 hours a day, and many even work on weekends. Then to top it off they have these stupid work dinners where everyone just gets trashed. I guess nobody’s ever heard of a thing called work-life balance. It’s no surprise so many people are unhappy and drink themselves into oblivion or consider suicide. Of course the Chaebols are probably happy 😃
Haha, I never implied that she was a heartless, spoiled brat. I do think she could have handled the breakup better,…
Yeah it’s a shame. That’s ten years of his life he’ll never get back. He could have been dating other women, especially when he got the train job. I’m hoping at some point he starts thinking of himself first. He would benefit from seeing a psychologist.
Both these teenage love birds turn adults had a lot on their plate, heaviness of one losing both their parents…
Actually I think the stepmom has been very good to her. She was very upfront about her feelings for her father, she never deceived her. She just could never trust her after what she went through with her mother likely which is understandable. I do agree he had a chance to move on and date other women, but he pretty much wasted ten years of his life. He would benefit from seeing a psychologist.
I’d really like to see the ML and SFL get together, but that would piss off too many people here who want the…
I’m just saying I think they would have been better together from the beginning. They are more similar than him and the FL. But yes, he just can’t get over that FL even ten years later lol.
Why are you guys assuming that FL had lived her best life. Their business went bankrupt and her dad is implied…
Haha, I never implied that she was a heartless, spoiled brat. I do think she could have handled the breakup better, but whatever. Yes, she hasn’t had it easy. Neither has he. My main complaint is how so many of these dramas have these ridiculous storylines of guys (yes it’s almost always guys) waiting around 5-10 years because they somehow can’t move on after a breakup.
This is yet another drama about a couple who meet as teenagers, they break up and the guy pines for her (in this case ten years), never dating again still “in love” with her. Meanwhile, the woman moves on doing fine and doing what she wants. They really need to quit selling this fantasy that guys will wait forever for a woman, it’s really ridiculous and unhealthy.
I seriously hope the ML and SFL end up together, I’ll be really pissed if he takes back the FL.
PSA to any new viewers: if you're genuinely wondering whether to watch this or not, either check out the first…
Thanks for posting this, I agree. The comments section of MDL have really turned into a cesspool. I have to laugh at these people saying the show did not follow the synopsis. I have read the synopsis about ten times, and I think it followed the synopsis very closely. People have this mindset that a show should be perfectly tailored to them, and when it isn’t they throw a temper tantrum.
I don’t understand the high rating for this, I dropped after episode 2. It doesn’t do anything interesting, creative, or new. It’s tepid like water or inoffensive like white bread. meh.
I seriously hope the ML and SFL end up together, I’ll be really pissed if he takes back the FL.
