Really enjoyed this movie. It moved me. It was well made, period. The child actress did a great job, along with the rest of the cast.

Truly, the editing leaves much to be desired, at least in the earlier episodes. It helps that I’ve read the novel, although the novel itself was convoluted but the mystery and their romance kept me going. I do like the acting by the two leads ZYR and BSE and the OST is gorgeous. It’s actually a fun watch so far. It’s not slow that’s for sure - not boring at all so far.

Themes in a nutshell:
1) the previous generations strayed from the founder’s vision and left a mess for this generation to clean up and to learn from their mistakes
2) demon sect vs righteous sect - is everyone from the demon sect evil and everyone from the righteous sects all good?

So far this is what I remember from the novel. Anyone who knows, please add on.

I have issues with the editing and post-production. Having said that, it’s a rollicking good story - I enjoyed the novel and am enjoying these first 7 episodes. It’s a high energy drama. Loving Bao Shang En’s portrayal of Cai Zhao. And the charismatic Zhou Yi Ran should really take on more 古装 period drama roles!!!

Their story is like a cautionary tale for the next generation (Yi Ran and Bao Shang en).

oh dear I feel your frustration. I enjoyed the progression of their love story - it's more of "show, not tell". Feng Yuan's obsession with her is right from the beginning; she's totally the light in his life. Her own revelation comes slowly but she does say those words out eventually, so hang in there! Sorry I can't help with the specific chapter as it's quite a few novels ago.

Yes I know what you mean about romcom. I feel like the production team butchered it.

Ooh me too Love Like The Galaxy is one of my fave dramas! And same here, I’ve lost interest in Legend of the FG after 8 episodes. A pity because I enjoyed the novel.

No, she’s not manly if that’s what you mean. Definitely the brightest mind in the room, next to the male lead. She’s a cool character, not a helpless one in any way, with a male lead who’s completely devoted to her. Yes happy at the end, she doesn’t change her core self.

Zhao Lu Si and Wu Lei were so good in this second half. Heartwrenching scenes. Still one of my fave dramas ever.

One of my fave dramas. Watched it thrice and picked up new details every time.
