I just want to say that i recognized the production componants to be the same as Something in the Rain. The best difference is that the music is not overly loud and intrusive. I loved something in the rain but its major flaw was the overly inserted and loud made me glad i could turn down the sound and watch the dialogue.
This just showed up in my Amazon Prime. I watched it on my Fire Stick. It was not rated very high and I didnt know who was in it. But I gave it a try. WELL WORTH IT! Some great acting performances and story lines . The children were great little actors.
This was a pleasant surprise and worth a second watch. I dont like those serious scary zombie movies except for train to busan because I love Gong Yoo. I loved Kim Nam Gil. I loved the whole cast. I had just seen Jung Jae-young in Partners for Justice so I thought the film would be serious. I am so glad I went out of my comfort zone.
I worried more about the neglected goat than the teens. And then the boy ditched the girl when she needs him the most. What could we expect from a teen? How performance was excellent but I won't watch it again.
I have to update my comment. I gave in to a second chance and loved it. The ending was obscure but I did figure it out. They did leave some breadcrumbs along the way. I found myself rewatching scenes more than usual. I usually watch for the subtitles and then watch the show again to see the nuances and expressions. We miss alot when we have to read everything instead of listen and watch. In this case it was really necessary. I loved the character of the older brother best of all. I enjoyed his infantile gestures and behavior.
I am glad that it was not made into a series. It would have been drawn out and meandered all over the place. It is a simply beautiful film. Watch it to the very last frame after the credits!! I made my daughter (45 yo) watch this with me. She hasnt caught the kdrama bug yet. Her heartfelt laughs and tears were all in the right places. She adored it. But if you had made her watch it drawn out over 16 episodes, we would have lost her after the first 15 minutes. Long lingering looks, frozen kisses and pretty people who seem to misunderstand everything is an acquired taste.
The pollen he drank was from the blackened tree. It was not pink or purple like he gave to his mother. He fell into a "coma". The tree mark on his body has been fading too. And on his grandfather. Watch the tree. I think the blacken pollen made him forget his love which made her safe when she woke up. He broke the curse. The blackened tree showed one live flower and she woke up. Also the Shaman gave her something to protect her at the beginning of the show. Itg blew away right before he found her on the beach. Other parts of the story dont match up well. The other relationships have a serious 3 year time lapse problem.
Just finished Oh Man Soo. oh man was it bad. Poor Jong Hyun. The director and writer did not let this actor perform to his potential. It was very unlikable.
How could the same director who made Tunnel do such a crap job with this show? It looks like the writer is a first timer. I like Lee Jong Hyun. He was not directed to his potential. The show failed on all levels. I felt like ripping those overcoats off of them. Didnt these people ever take their coats off? The Older Brother character over acted a bit but at least I could tell that he was alive.
I rewatched this film after 10 years or so. whew. I forgot enough to get carried along with the story and overlooking its plot holes to an especially great ending. I have to recommend it.
I have to watch this during the day because I cant sleep after it. TOO FUNNY!! I have never ever laughed so much at a "drama". Realty shows are funny but this "drama" has them all beat.
This is the first drama I ever saw (in 2006) and everything after it has had to live up to my great expectations. So many have failed. I agree with you. It was ahead of its time. The hysterical scene of her in the hotel catching her boyfriend was the beginning of my love affair with Korean Drama.
It deserves to be seen with good subs. I tried to watch it with lousy ones and it didnt make any sense to me. BUT now I saw it with Amazon Prime. The subs were very good. Now I understand who is who and what is actually happening and WHY. They took a real King and Prince and threw them into another completely fabricated version of their story.

What did you think of Jealousy Incarnate? I thought it had some great episodes.
