where did you watch it? can you tell me spoiler of what the ending is :'
asiancrush. I don't really remember the ending but I think the kid turns into a praying mantis and kills all his bullies but it was like just a metaphor or something for what he really wanted to do.
It was entertaining enough to like. Nothing bad to say about it really but it could have tried to be a bit less generic somehow idk. What was with Song Kang's character btw? He dipped in and teased us with some suggestive lines then vanished from the script. I have so many questions lol.
I love how this just came out and everyone has already binged all 8 hours of it lol. This definitely had flaws in the writing but I still loved it. Nam Yoon gave such a great performance.
This was sooooo good! It didn't take sides really. Even though what the Japanese did was so cruel, this showed us the psychology behind their actions. Also, the three main characters named Shinkai were just teenagers, and it showed how young and naïve and normal they were really effectively; like they were kids who had crushes on girls and families back home etc., etc. We imagine the people who can commit horrendous war crimes are some kind of monsters, but no... they are just regular shmegular kids. People like you and me. In fact most of the soldiers who committed these crimes were young boys following orders. I really appreciate it when stories take multiple perspectives so that you get everyone's side of the story. Nobody wanted to go to war yet everybody did. Nobody wanted to kill a trench full of POWs yet everybody did. Humans are complicated creatures and this program really does a good job emphasizing that.
As for the production value itself, it was outstanding for the most part. The CGI was a total miss and there were only one or two actors (ehem the judge) who couldn't act, but otherwise this was top notch. The acting from the Taiwanese actors was especially great. Really well done program.
Depends on what you like but for me it definitely is! It is funny, quirky, yet serious here and there. Great show…
I honestly can't think of anything that's quite like it... Maybe Kazoku Game (for the quirky vibes yet serious subjects part) or My Beautiful Man or possibly even Zettai BL ni Naru Sekai VS Zettai BL ni Naritakunai Otoko (Though Zettai is a comedy and Smells Like Green Spirit isn't but both are funny + quirky.)
Definitely the more I'm watching Smells Like Green Spirit the more unique it's feeling :P

It doesn't have English subtitles but I found it here;

It’s raw though. Might have to wait I don’t know how long for subs

It's raw though. I personally don't mind as I'll just rewatch it whenever it gets subbed.
