I noticed that they have given Yang Zi very simple makeup, in Ashes of love they gave her really beautiful makeup with eyelash extensions that made her eyes pop. Here they have really downplayed her face, I don’t know if this was a purposeful decision but it’s very clear.
And irrespective of their beauty, no one can emulate the charm of Yang Zi. She doesn’t have to be the most beautiful because she is is always the most charming.

Love & Redemption looked awful to me. It was one of my big turn offs. Ancient Love Poetry art director I like a lot. He also did Blue Whisper , Pearl Eclipse, Sword & Brocade etc

No you are misunderstanding. There are a ton of Cdrama’s with beautiful color grading. Separately , CGI is a difficult medium to work in so it’s not a big deal to me but it has nothing to do Chinese vs international aesthetic.
