Love & Redemption looked awful to me. It was one of my big turn offs. Ancient Love Poetry art director I like a lot. He also did Blue Whisper , Pearl Eclipse, Sword & Brocade etc

No you are misunderstanding. There are a ton of Cdrama’s with beautiful color grading. Separately , CGI is a difficult medium to work in so it’s not a big deal to me but it has nothing to do Chinese vs international aesthetic.
after watching ep 1 & 2 i think that the reason the show as a whole looks borderline cheap or even tacky is due…

So only the heavenly immortals have this rule??? But they all have regular human emotions so the rule seems …. Absurd. And self defeating. At first I thought it was that they cannot fall in love with demon tribe. But they can’t even love other immortals.
