It’s always been UK + Naksu but my suspicion is that Naksu & MD/BY are merging or going to merge. BY isn’t supposed to be living. She was never supposed to be born. So I think maybe Naksu’s soul will be able to merge into her permanently.

Since MD was fully aware she was feeding my guess is that it was a combination of BY & MD. Previously BY would seem to only come out when MD was asleep or when she touched the jade, broke the mirror. Today MD knew what was happening so maybe they are starting to merge??? I’m sure it was BY power/help when she seemed to faint.

Was the woman at the very beginning in episode 1 a shaman? My suspicion is that she could be the person whose soul has shifted into the Queen and she hates Jang Gang because her son ran wild and died? Did something happen even before that that led to him shifting her families souls to begin with?
Can we just talk about how Ukieee is the sweetest mama bird ever. After overhearing Naksu’s tragic past he immediately went to find her and hug her out of sheer empathy and heartache for her. He’s so big compared to her and yet his embrace was so utterly sweet & gentle.
There are so many things about this show that I love, but the way they have built these two lead characters to be so unique and layered and multi-dimensional, with a romance that is built around mutual trust and respect shared understanding…… People keep trashing the Hong Sisters and almost rooting for their downfall as writers but we are 12 episodes in and yes, things may fall apart plot wise but even to get this far, I am thankful to them for their creativity & ability to blend comedy, romance, action, etc with relatable characters and both clever & heartwarming dialogue. Even if this show were to fall apart at some point it’s help set a new standard I think.
I didn't think Cheng Yi was that hot in L&R. Maybe I was too distracted by all those hair rising Sifeng shrieks.But…
Same same same. He’s never really been my type aesthetically (I did love him in Dream of Chang’an but couldn’t finish it due to the horrendous plot choices) anyway here in IS they have styled him impeccably and the lighting makes him look truly almost angelic. Like an art sculpture.

It is Xianxia. Xianxia is built around a certain type of plot with realms that typically have very strict rules, multiple lives, noble sacrifices…… they are plotted out for extreme angst so if you don’t like that you likely won’t enjoy most Xianxia drama’s.
The angst and multiple lifetimes of love and sacrifice are what bring most of us to the story.
I think somewhere deep down she wants him to recognize her without her revealing herself. Silly thing I know but…
I completely understand her wanting him to recognize her. Of course she should! But I just think these should have been played out as thoughts in her head. Instead they have her say this out loud to him 2 or 3 separate times and it undermines her disguising herself. I don’t know if im making sense.
There is only 1 thing that is bothering me (as I wipe away my tears during ep 11)
If YD wants YY to recognize her so badly as the one who saved him, why didn’t she just reveal her true voice and stop the charade in the hut. I know she disguised her voice originallyso that he would not feel indebted + he wouldn’t totally push her away while she treated him but then at some point after she gouged her heart she should have revealed her true voice. It would be one thing if she said *to herself* I hope he will recognize me. But she says *outloud* to him multiple times, when you see me before you will you recognize me? It’s made too obvious and makes her continuing the disguise *to him* while still in the hut seem somewhat idiotic and undermines things for me. I just wish they made it her inner thought narration. This is a minor plot hole for me. I know it is a plot device to create the entire disaster that is to come but it doesn’t make sense the way they have done it and I would have made some minor changes.
With that said, whatever……… I am ready for all the angst and betrayal that’s to come. I’ve got my tissue box ready!
