That’s what I think…. That Wu Shang is actually his *dead* sister and the father was framed. I also wonder if her ladyship may be Yunqi’s mom.

I honestly thought it would be a historical drama which I would have preferred cuz I like historical dramas better…
It’s a fantasy historical set in the Republican era it’s the same time period as AMA but this one will be more grown up and have a lot fantasy elements. Republican era is early 1900’s. That’s considered historical (just not ancient) 😊

YESSSSSSS!!!!! They are subverting many of the typical tropes in a satisfying way so there isn’t massive anger/frustration at one of our leads. I love that.

I felt the same way. This angst didn’t have the utter darkness or frustration that some do …… it was so well executed and made sense to the viewer

So I’ve watched the first five episodes, but since it is still on going I’ve tried to watch Love and Redemption…
It has the same creative director as Love & Redemption so the set design & CGI are from the same people.

Also multiple cast members are from both Ashes of Love & L& R.

The story itself has nothing to do with L&R. It’s just the staff/creative production team is a mix of people many from L&R
