Title Alchemy of Souls Spoiler
It’s pretty clear now that Uk’s motivation and ability to power up will always be tied to Naksu/MD. He was able to unsheath the sword because he wanted to protect her. He will master Chisu so that he can climb the tree for her. Every step on his path will be tied to his need to please & protect her. I love that they’ve built this into his character. I love that he actually was perfectly happy living in the hut fishing & cooking because 1. It showed that he is not actually at all a spoiled brat and he could give up everything for both peace or love and be happy which I wouldn’t have previously guessed and it’s a lovely character development. None of his character development has been about seeking power or respect. It’s actually only developed because of his desire to protect or please her and so his motivation is this pure beautiful thing that I love rather than a more egotistical pursuit.

Title Why Her?
The problem with the show is- it revealed it’s hands of cards to early & the mystery is gone and now it’s…
Exactly. They setup Gong Chans story at the very beginning as sort of an essential part of the plot. If they were not going to do anything with it for 9, 10 episodes it would have been more interesting to reveal it to the audience later in the show. That’s the story most of us are invested in, not this convoluted TK /Assemblyman corruption story which has taken up all the air without much payoff

Title Why Her?
Did they mention Soo Jae's age anywhere? I know Chan is 27, wondering her age
I think around 35 so it’s like an 8 year difference.

Title Why Her?
Who Gong Chan really is should have already been revealed and getting to the bottom of who framed him should already be in motion. What are we doing here.

I just came to say that after watching most of his works, for his age his resume is not that thick and I think the majority of people agree that his best work was in Arthdal Chronicles. I am fully aware that it wasn’t that well received in Korea, but with Netflix distribution it was a huge international hit. If I was managing his career I feel like it would almost be criminal not to do everything in my power to find a way for him to continue & finish his roles as Eunseom/Saya in Arthdal Chronicles 2. While many of us liked OG Tanya I think the show I don’t think replacing her is nearly as detrimental to the success as replacing Eunseom/Saya with someone else. I wish someone had started a petition or some social media fan movement to convince both the studio & SJK to make it work so he could participate.

This looks soooooo up my ally I don’t understand why it hasn’t been fully subbed. I know there is a fan sub but I would much rather watch it in full then 2 episodes a week. Sigh

Title A Dream of Splendor Spoiler
I feel like the plot went completely off the rails toward the end. I would have much preferred it to be a plot where the uncle framed the father and we find out the father was a good guy all along instead of this convoluted plot with OX and the Empress much of which was illogical and absurd. The show was a 10 until around episode 28 and then it only has moments of magic. The cinematography is stunning from beginning to end and it’s one of the most beautifully directed & produced drama’s I’ve ever seen.

All done! I’m satisfied although they had to cut out some scenes because of the 40 episodes restriction. Like…
Could not agree with you more.

I guess you missed all the difficult acting scenes that he was so enthusiastic about.
I deleted it because you seem to have taken personal offense to it and it was not worth arguing about. Every role he picks requires him to have complex emotions and he will always say that’s what drew him to a role. Maybe he didn’t see the weakness is the script who knows. Since you were insulted I removed my throw away speculation. Have a great day.

He has been fantastic with what was given to him but that has no bearing on the fact that the plot has been extremely weak halfway in. I blame both the writer and director. Jin Goo is outstanding in everything he touches…. So much so that I want him to only pick the absolute best scripts.

This drama was fun initially and the chemistry between the leads clicked instantly but now it has become repetitive…

On Link: Eat, Love, Kill Jun 28, 2022
This show had a really interesting premise with the missing sister and the “link” and yet has done virtually nothing to flesh those two things out in a way that’s interesting /compelling/layered. Even the “link” has become really lame and vague and hazy. This is really just a slice of life drama that tries to be a thriller but fails, tries to be a romance but fails, tries to be a melodrama but fails and tries to be a mystery but fails. It’s beautifully made with stunning cinematography and the acting is top notch but the writer has completely failed at whatever it was they were trying to do. At least 8 episodes in….. although the last 15 minutes of episode 8 did finally reveal something new (should have been revealed 3 episodes ago imo) The first half of the drama should have been completely condensed into the first 4 episodes. Instead we wasted so much time on repetitive stuff. Maybe the second half will recover but so far this is a disappointment and waste of Jin Goo’s immense talent (he has be phenomenal with that was given) Really hoping the second half is way better.

The stupidity of this comment. It’s like saying China copied Hollywood studios when they made Hengdian. How…
You are missing the point. Hengdian was built in the 90’s off of the Hollywood studio business concept. It’s entire conceptualization was inspired by American film studios who built Hollywood studios that had pre-built and ready to build sets for filming. Hengdian Group realized it was a good idea and replicated the concept. Hollywood also has historical sets based off of historical architecture. You embarrass yourself accusing anyone of copying anything Chinese when Modern China is built off of copying everyone. And modern Cdrama’s are all trying to copy & replicate what Kdrama’s have been doing for decades. All of the CGI in Xianxia’s is taken from where? American CGI developers. Should we complain and trash Chinese using American technology in production of Xianxia drama’s? Do you think Xianxia’s were the first to have arrows with magical powers? Or different realms wth gods and demons? The Romans and Greeks also had those concepts. My word of advice for you is to have some humility and take a step back to realize that all ART is shared concepts and we live in a time where cultures all share and inspire each other.

Yes the comment was made in jest meaning he has lots of daddies and yet he has NO real father. It’s irony and sad!

The stupidity of this comment. It’s like saying China copied Hollywood studios when they made Hengdian. How would you like American to accuse Chinese of copying their entire modern civilization ???????? You are embarrassing yourself with these repeated toxic comments accusing Korea of copying China. Get a grip.
