If you watch the opening vingnette of ep 7 when they explain the origins of the alchemy they never show their faces but they definitely give Uk/MD vibes
Is he??? I totally forgot/missed that. So that must be why he does everything… to keep his sick son alive? Do you remember what episode they showed the son?
FINALLY at the end of episode 12 the story is coming together and making (some) sense!!!!!!! The way we got here had a lot of problems but here is to hoping they are now on the right track with these last 4 episodes.
This show has completely fallen apart. I won’t write a long rant but there was so much potential that was wasted. What they’ve done with the Gong Chan character, from casting a different actor to play him as an 18 year old to dressing him where he’s wearing a backpack 95% of the time is just so bad and I feel awful HIY may get tarred by this. None of it is his fault, he’s making the best he can with what’s been given.
Sigh. I will continue to hate watch till the end lol
One of the issues with this show I think is that it was marketed as sort of a fantasy mystery thriller romance when it’s really ended up being mostly slice of life. And that’s fine, but slice of life is a very specific type of show that requires a certain mindset and it would have been helpful to have known that at the beginning.
Instead many of us feel frustration at the lack of dynamic plot and story development which feels like it goes in an endless loop with little forward progress.

These first 4 episodes are rough to get through. My ears are bleeding. But I won’t give up yet!
