A similar drama to The Long Ballad is one that hasn't aired yet but will in Summer I hope; The Legend of AnLe, if you want to go to the page and check it out and put it in your Plan to watch list.

I watch raw to get the gist of the story knowing that I will watch properly with Eng subs. Call it madness but having read the novel I can guess quite a lot though there are additions which will make more sense with subs.
Reba herself said she wants to play a villain so I assume she knows the possible ramifications.

Hot Girl got Reba the Arab and International fans, especially the kick boxing scenes, so a police detective or Indiana Jones would be apt. Reba also said the role she would like to play is of a villain and her favourite in TBW is Princess Shunde!
I'm going to complete the remaining raw eps first then I can just wait for the subs without thinking about the drama for a while.
The Turkish drama I have in mind is Fatma and it's on Netflix.

Hah! Don't mention oil LOL. This drama is a much needed anaesthetic from current geopolitics! Reba's been popular in that region since her Guan Xiaodi days.

I'm sort of keeping away from MDL at present as I'm too busy all month but I will pop in to have quick catch up sometimes; maybe at the end of April hopefully, I can relax and watch with subs and join in the discussions too. The drama is always on my mind and the lack of subs is killing me!

I'm pleased that the drama is performing really well so far and am looking forward to AnLe and Prosecutors too. Not likely to watch any other C-dramas. ( Got an eye on a Turkish one next!)

There's some Dilraba fans in UAE, so no surprise if there's Arabic too. Lots of languages then; hope we get our subs by the end of this month or soon after! Watching raw has been compulsive but not satisfying. No doubt I will watch and re-watch many times once the subs are available.

There is no question about the chemistry between the leads, it is top notch.
After the regret of rejecting her because of his own insecurity (14 ep), he makes the 1st move to pursue her (end of the 19th episode) and around the 21st episode she agrees and they are a couple. Then, 11 more eps of beautiful romance. Might be more helpful to read one of the reviews above for more details.

Yup! I remember that feeling too! Took a long time to get over TLB too. I've watched it 7 times!
The Blue Whisper is looking good and then Legend of AnLe will come out which may be similar to this one.

It's not like 020; different storyline about a couple who meet again 10yrs after high school. He's an Aerospace engineer and she is an actress. There's lots of gaming involved but they don't become game characters. There is a beautiful and healthy relationship with no love triangle or other obstacles but it takes a few episodes to evolve.

I am glad you are enjoying the drama and find it believable. I agree with most of what you say but I don't think ZLY is suitable for this role because in the Manga, the heroine is of Turkic background because of her mother and they paid homage to that in the drama. Dilraba has a tear drop mole under her eye too like the comic heroine. ZYL already did something similar with Princess Agents and even at her age she will always have a youthful face.
I think only Dilraba was suitable for this role and is the reason for it's success!

Yes, you are right about the devastation caused by wars and you with your experience, will empathise with a young woman who loses everything and has to survive only by her wits; which Li Changge has plenty of.
