Yes, that's what I was thinking too because the sets are locations in Chengdu like the the high street or the courthouse or university. The clothes are either casual or uniforms and the make up is so minimal. No complicated wires or blue backdrops necessary for this drama.

I enjoyed reading that and found it enlightening. Thank you.
Ah! No wonder! So the script is well thought out then according to your analysis. I'm just so happy to read the great 'long' but meaningful comments and be able to respond which I couldn't do when I first joined. ( Too slow, lol! )

You are right. In the novel YH doesn't tell CY why she deceived him but dials it up and really makes herself obnoxious with the help of Hao Qing so that CY will break himself away from her without regret which he refuses to do beforehand. From the cliff edge scene in the drama, I don't think she explains to him at all and that would tie in with the prologue where we see CY being quite hard and unemotional. This is the misunderstanding which festers for 6 yrs while CY rises to become Lord of the North just so he can exact revenge.

I like her like this too and probably will be very satisfied when the subs arrive. Song Zu Er has a new drama out ZTao. The age gap is more reasonable than the May and December one in Cupid's Kitchen.

I meant the same thing. I refreshed as well but there was only your post.
My writing has speeded up since I first joined and that's what I wanted but I have to to be careful I don't offend others with my opinion.

I concur! Also, the drama is an interpretation of the novel and what works for the latter may not for the former. I read the novel and have yet to watch with subs and not just raw to make my mind up. I have no complaints so far but it annoys me that Yun He is lambasted because she is a bit different to the novel. I think director Chu likes to have a character who is a bit more nuanced and not just a boring Mary Sue character; he did this in TLB too so many viewers didn't understand Changge and went on about being 'frustrated' by her or wanting 'to punch' her ad nauseam. I think many just like to criticise the actress and do it in an indirect way through the character. Not saying that everyone here is like that because I do prefer the Yun He in the novel more to be honest.
I can say having read the novel that I have a pretty good imagination; the drama is even better than what my mind can produce and the changes are pretty interesting too. I imagine that I've watched 2 versions of the book; one in my head and the other on screen!
Just my opinion! ( There is a time lag on MDL? )

In the novel JYH and HQ were foster siblings and she is forced by Valley master to compete with him to make him stronger and more capable and also to test him, like pushing in to the snake pit. There is no love between them in the novel since the snake pit incident.

Title The Blue Whisper: Part 1 Spoiler
Hi, I have a question regarding Yun He the demon master, someone mentioned that she has yet to transform to a…
It's not Lin Cang Lan who transforms it 's the attendant I think. The attendant is the only 9 tailed fox and Cang Lan has been experimenting on Yun He with her 'DNA'. not sure what else to call it. ( Can't remember from the novel) And Yun He survives the experiments which would normally kill a double pulse individual. There is an antidote for the pain she suffers, which is given to her monthly and with which she is kept compliant; that's why she was looking for the pills with Jin San in the master's quarters when the big bird got loose. I recall from the novel, JYH doesn't know what she is and transforms for the 1st time just before she stabs Chang Yi on the cliff. I'm not sure if that will stay the same in the drama. (Sorry if it sounds convoluted!)

The leads are about to get the spotlight after ep 6 I think. Negative comments seem to be the order where DB is concerned. Check out YAMG latest comment and have a good laugh.
