Agree with you about beauty being in the eye of the beholder and you don't find her beautiful; perfectly acceptable and thanks for not doubting her acting.
But I totally disagree because in this drama Reba is playing herself basically, she is the beautiful celebrity gracing countless billboards and magazine covers and a sponsor's dream. A walking advert to be honest. This role was made for Reba and no other actress would have fitted the role and saying she doesn't means that the Chinese don't understand what the concept of beauty is, also the viewers who watched this drama and fell in love with it are to be questioned for their taste.
A more beautiful actress will have the chance to star with the ML in another drama so keep a lookout. No offence intended!

Lady Jin was rescued by Li Shi Min during a battle and brought back to Chang'an; he obviously had feelings for her but when he went away for another battle, his older brother raped the lady whilst being drunk and Changge was the result! ( In the manhua novel Lady Jin was supposed to be the sister of Pusa, king of Mobei but this changed in the drama; we assume she was of noble birth however) Someone may add more details to this because I may have forgotten something. You'll find out near the end anyway.

Shu Yu's role was a bit ambiguous because he obviously admired Changge and only considered Leyan like a sister but he lost Changge's regard because he couldn't stand up for himself. I like the actor very much though. There's a BTS video of him talking to Dilraba about his contradictory role and he comes across as very intelligent. If you can understand Mandarin then here's the link. The comments in the video provide a clue about what's being said.

Yes, I loved GeSun best too. The lack of passion I trust more than fiery infatuation, it's more reliable. LOL! I agree that Changge's tomboyish ways made her slow on the uptake and you have to admire A'Sun for being so patient with her. We just enjoyed the slow sizzle between them and let our imagination do the rest! Their support and understanding of one another was more significant but they had chemistry without a doubt. For those who wanted it more obvious then there was HauYan to satisfy them. They did nothing for me though, no offence!
The Eagle Division were indeed one of the highlights of the drama and Changge's exchanges with Yi She, Nu Er and Ya Luo were so funny. I was sad too when Ya Luo got killed off.
I loved Changge and thought she was amazing with her ability to outsmart others; such a genius! I also loved her relationships with Leyan, Mimi, Shi Ba, Tujia and A'Dou. ( I cried when he died) And there were so many brilliant characters like the Gongsuns, the abbess, Situ Lang, Pusa and obviously SheEr to name a few. Just brilliant fun to watch.
I can't criticise any part of it and just wish the ending wasn't rushed so much! I'm going to watch it again soon!

Yes, I agree with you that he is fragile deep inside because of his capacity to love his mother and Mimi as well as A'Sun; the growth in his character is shown so clearly from how he starts off as an arrogant rival to a A'Sun for the the top position but after A'lir's accidental death SheEr realises the consequences of his actions and redeems himself a lot . When SheEr believes A'Sun is dead, he understands his real feelings for his 'brother'. We can console ourselves that he is still alive at the end and goes off with his men so there is the potential for him to find someone to cherish him too. I hope we see more of this actor in future dramas.

Yes, Empress Ki was an amazing drama and also 6 Flying Dragons; my top dramas of S. Korea. Gone off K-dramas at present, don't know why.
You might like Ruyi's Love In The Palace which is a follow on from Yanxi more perhaps. I enjoyed My Sunshine a lot but I couldn't re-watch it now. The Snail falling in love, somehow, is one of my favourites and I watched it 3 X! It deals with quite gritty issues like drugs and human trafficking but its beautifully shot and absorbing but underrated.
Vengo does suit the white hair definitely like no one else! He is rather gorgeous! I think the FL in ELOD has a much better script in The Long Ballad.
Not watched Nirvana in fire but heard about it's popularity and it is a revenge drama mainly; can't tell you about the romance aspect of it unfortunately. MDL has a lot of info about all the dramas provided by enthusiastic fans for you to check out.

Let's pray it's real now and nothing happens to change it. There will be many main leads so all will get equal film time? I remember the draggy romance of the 2nd leads in Love Designer. ( No offence to their fans) I know its not a romance but with the same actress I hope it's not going to be like that for this drama too. Although I should hold my horses until we get complete confirmation re this drama first. LOL

Agree with you about FL. The subs are a bit better on Kisskh and I can't view on any of the MDL links in my region, I just watch it where I can.
Yes, the invasion is causing me unrest too. The area is a predominantly Muslim area and l don't understand the reasons given to justify the invasion. It's really worrying.

There is a difference to her character here although she is still super capable. They meet in episode 8 apparently. Watching in D****cool and subs are sub par unusually. Someone provided a link for eps 9 and 10 on Kisskh. I know! The delay for TBW is really hard to take for whatever the reason. We are just passing the time til we hear the news we really want.

5 episodes in and the 2 main leads haven't met each other yet. Wang Yi Zhe plays You Yi Fan really well and is pretty menacing. Liking it so far though the subs are not that good.

I've watched 5 episodes and it's engaging enough to carry on watching; the main two leads haven't even seen each other yet. The grandson prince's bodyguard You Yi Fan is well played by the actor, very menacing. I wonder if there will be a love triangle with him and ZiJin? I hope the subs get better.
