No, the disparity in age doesn't bother me but I don't feel they suit. GeSun looked good together so I may check the drama out and see if the pairing works. I liked the pairing in Dating In The Kitchen too. I also like Republican era styling.

I hope TBW doesn't have to compete with any Olympics like YAMG did! I believe YAMG views would have been even…
All the more reason then for an early schedule. Have you watched Joy of Life? I'm putting it in my 'Plan To Watch' list. Xiao Zhan is a support role in it! Just surprised.

That's a good rating. Glad you enjoyed it! I just finished my 6th re-watch! The first time I watched the drama…
I think that may have been a deliberate ploy? ChangGe is such a charismatic character but she needs some imperfections. Her behaviour is not surprising but understandable when we learn her age.

That's a good rating. Glad you enjoyed it! I just finished my 6th re-watch! The first time I watched the drama…
Yes, I think most people are not aware of the age of the ChangGe. Leyan is a supposed to be a year or so younger but she is much more frustrating and in fact is such a goose that she stows away in the cart to help look for ChangGe and promptly becomes a liability, when she wanders about in the hotel and gets abducted by the human traffickers. For me, her whole arc after that is so frustrating to watch that I fast forward it until she returns to Chang'an. ( Not saying it's not important, just difficult to watch)

When LY does find CG she is surprised that CG isn't her loving cousin anymore. As a commenter below notes, did she expect CG to welcome her with open arms? We forgive Leyan her immaturity because she is so cute and her goal is to reunite with CG because she was so close to her! Is it a plausible motivation? Is it convincing? Yes, I think I'm sold on their sisterhood!

Then we have Hao Du, who chases CG mindlessly for most of the drama instead of looking for Leyan, attempting to execute her even when she is desperately trying to defend Tang from invaders. How frustrating is he! (He redeems himself later when he falls for the Princess and fights for her but also when he stops chasing CG!)

Many viewers are frustrated with ChangGe because she tries to rescue her father's supporter Luo Yi [General] which leads to A Yi Er dying but her motivation is to save him and ensure he isn't used by the Great Khan against Da Tang or be tortured and killed. This is one incident which crucially highlights the conflict in CG's internal motivations. CG's original goal gradually changes from wanting revenge to wanting to safeguard Tang and her citizens. CG's goal and Khatun's were the same but the motivations were different. CG's can't sustain her goal because she'd rather save lives, bring about peace and to that end, ultimately she forgives her family's killer. Khatun on the other hand, destroys/removes anyone who comes between her and her goal. (Reviving the Sui dynasty)
It's probably been discussed below in much more detail but I was also just thinking about what makes a character in a book or drama ultimately successful? With that in mind, is being frustrated with ChangGe evidence of the success of her character?

Finished! I really liked this drama, especially because of Ashile Sun. Leo Wu really took this drama to another…
That's a good rating. Glad you enjoyed it! I just finished my 6th re-watch!
The first time I watched the drama I was a little bit frustrated with Li ChangGe like you too but on subsequent watches I felt so sorry for her and I couldn't imagine what decisions I'd make if I was 14 yrs old and had just witnessed my whole family being wiped out, and then survived an execution attempt. But I was also most riveted by her development and performance throughout the drama to even get frustrated; she was truly mesmerising.
Agree with you about the other main characters , in fact all the cast was superb.

Oh No veto to the casting 🙈but love William ❤️
We don't even know if any of these three are going to be in the drama/film even! Your veto is a bit premature! LOL!

I'd be worried about it being compared to TLB and getting criticised if it didn't stand up to it too well! I doubt…
True! It would be something to look forward to at least but it would need to be a fantastic plotline so that their 2nd collaboration is even more amazing. ( you know what I mean!) The only thing that worries me is not knowing Reba's plans for 2022.

It is still a bit early. More Reba's fans will be here, once it airs. And more Allen's fans will be here as well.…
The two parts of TBW may generate a lot of comments in combination, but on separate pages. TLB may have less episodes in total but is in one piece and I also think it is a bit of a freak page on MDL! Anyway, we shall see and try out best to repeat the magic!

I was going to make the same observation about the comedy and yes I don't think there will be any reason for TBW not to air as well because the two dramas cater to different tastes. Many will like both of them.

wooohooo, still as great as the first 5 times?
Jaywalk? In Sweet Dreams you have to persist to get past the early dream sequences because it gets quite hilarious later. Her parents are so comical as well. A bit too long I'd say is the main gripe and the FL is too obsessive about the ML, but Reba plays the role well and is really funny.

Watched the 1st episode and I'm sort of unable to get into it but I may persist just to see Vengo Gao. Too much slow mo' and flying about going on. (The way the FL flies down the tree reminds me of an egret!) There's some sort of filter used to make it look like an older drama?
The fight scenes and Kuju/Cuju game in TLB have spoilt me I guess!

Still wish dilraba wu lei pair up in xianxia romantic drama again
I'd be worried about it being compared to TLB and getting criticised if it didn't stand up to it too well! I doubt they could recreate that GeSun magic again but they could always try!

I agree, and I think that they were the most visually stunning couple in C-dramas ever. ( Just my opinion, no-one has to agree!)

Lol! He was rather gorgeous! Only dilraba suited him I think and I am a bit dubious about the pairing in his new drama as a vampire in the Republican era, although he looks arresting with his costume and hair. ( No offence to fans of the drama or pairing)

Got it thanks! The translation must have been wrong in the video I watched.

Different numbers out there it seems; just watched a video on You Tube outlining the plot and number of episodes. Doesn't matter, just need an improved trailer and other promotional activities and a date for it to air! I'll be so happy!
