I read, Dilraba's team has been sent the FL role of Feng Lai Qi to consider. It seems interesting and different. Hope she takes it.

This drama doesn't need a popular actor for the ML because it's the FL who is more central to the story; what do you think? ZYL would have been good or Dilraba but alas neither is biting. Do you know anything about the screenplay or have you read the novel?

Feng Lai Qi adapted from the original novel, 'The True Colours of the Female Emperor' (女帝本色) published in 2015 by Tian Xia Gui Yuan; an award winning author who also wrote The Legend of Fu Yao and Rise of the Phoenixes.
This story is about a kind, intelligent and ingenious Chang'an dancer, Jing Hengbo who is involved in the conspiracy of the Blackwater power struggle and is forced to become the puppet emperor. She not only has to wrestle wits and courage with the traitors in power but also has emotional entanglements (relationships?) with two men. (Zuo Guoshi Gongyin and Zuoshi Yelugi)
The writer wanted to challenge herself and depict a different royal so she broke the conventional character of a cold white lotus and created a bold, amorous and charming image. Therefore the heroine in Feng Lai Qi has a slightly debauched (Sensual?) personality and likes beautiful legs!(?) On the outside she comes across as flirtatious but fierce and uses this external illusion to cover the love and purity of a heroine's heart.

I got this info from a video and the auto-translation may be inaccurate but you get the gist of it. The story looks like a fantasy/sci-fi at first glance, so a fantasy costume drama.

I watched a video where WL runs off from the farewell ceremony and it's so funny! The relief is so obvious on Leo's face! Yes, hope we get some news about her next project.

She's doing some stand-up comedy sketch but no news of any drama. I don't feel excited by another collab with Leo at the moment but might change if the screenplay is interesting. 😐

Such exaggerated facial movements look overdone and unnecessary on film, like facial ticks and spasms. LOL! Maybe it's an influence from the Chinese theatre of the past? That's why I like Reba's subtle facial movements whereas some might call them wooden.

Wholly agree! But we know she already has awesome and unconventional skills which are totally transferable and which she utilises and hones to perfection as time goes by. ( I wasn't talking about CG's imperfections but LY's)

I'll try it out after I finish Joy Of Life. On Episode 4. Recommended it to my son and he's whizzed ahead to ep 10 already!

Absolutely agree, and this answers my query in the spoiler. CG is a believable, relatable and well rounded character with formidable skills. On top of all that, Dilraba simply brings her to life with her mesmerising looks and remarkable talent; she makes Li ChangeGe unforgettable .

That's ok and I like that because it reminds me of the old films I used to watch.

Posters on the MDL page are recommending it as well. But I already dropped it ages ago, might try watching it again in future.
